For me, other vistas and vast areas such as the Forgotten Vale are my personal faves; still find myself looking at sunsets and taking screenshots.
And Frostflow Lighthouse is a fave quest here, too. One of the best written for the game, IMO.

Then there was Delphine who insisted i hurry back to Riverwood as time was short...I stopped off at Whiterun to see if Lucia was ok with her pet fox and decided to have a beer at the bannered mare.
So..im sitting at the bar and then i hear this voice saying, " I told you id meet you back at Riverwood". I turn round and there is Delphine coming out of a room with one of the Battle-Born clan..Bloody hussy had the cheek to hurry me on and she stops off for a quicky with that dolt.

Just repeated the Frostflow Lighthouse quest once again. It never fails to induce a rage against the Falmer in me, no matter how often I play this quest.
300+ hours in I only discovered this quest about two days ago.
I discovered the lighthouse ages ago of course, but stupidly I broke into the shed and not the lighthouse itself the first time round

Dawnguard added even nastier Chaurus.
I hope Dragonborn does not add even worse.
Remember the giant Chaurus corpses the size of houses?
**** man. I can hardly stand to fight the flying ones, let alone HUGE ASS ones.

We came upon this Dwarven Centurion Master and even though he was marked red, he never attacked. It was probably a glitch, but the romantic in me thought that despite his programming to attack invaders, he saw that Vilkas was wearing a Dwemer helmet and he was just lonely. lol

I think so. There isn't much written in the game about the function of Blackreach, other than the obvious: that the "most important" of Skyrim's Dwemer colonies decend to "the blackest kingdom reaches", and that it was where the Falmer escaped from the Nords in the 1st era, and where the Dwemer took them in and blinded them, and where the War of the Crag took place.Addai67 wrote...
The really amazing thing about Blackreach is that I'm still finding new things. In that shot I posted, off in the distance I saw what I thought were Falmer- they were actually frost trolls. In one building, I could hear a woman's voice (which freaked me out majorly) and then saw the subtitle say it was Katria. I thought she must be in Blackreach, but actually the building I was in was a bottom portion of an entirely different Dwemer ruin that was attached to Blackreach. I guess the Dwemer used Blackreach kind of like an underground connector between a few cities?
Personally though, Blackreach just feels to me like there was more meant to be in it - like it's the remains of some cut content that didn't make it into the game for some reason. Why are there Human slaves (and Mer slaves. I saw an Orc falmer slave there) in the silent city? How did they get down there? They couldn't all have successfully traversed Afthand, Mzencheleft or Raldbthar, then used Septimus' attunement sphere to open the Blackreach enterences.
Why is there a dragon trapped down there? And is there any lore whatsoever that suggests that the Dwemer ever fought dragons? They Obviously did, since they managed to trap one in a very dwemer-looking orb contraption thing. Why isn't there more information on that? You would *think* that some sort of journal or book would exist to at least vaguely explain such a thing. since it seems a wee bit more important than, for example, the nature of Crimson Nirnroot, of which we're given reams and reams of info plus a whole questline to complete. Why is there a lone Giant in Blackreach? Giants aren't subterranian creatures, are they?

It still is kind of scary thinking that when other races where living in small little villages the Dwemer were making the laws of reality their ****.
Hopefully we get some more lore from the next DLC.

The Dwemer were no pansies, either. I get the feeling they always had slaves, and their treatment of the snow elves was par for the course. There's a blade trap set in a kind of ampitheater thing, which looks to me like an execution plaza. You can see it in the foreground of that shot I posted at the top of the page.

Lore vs Fun vs Changes vs Whatever.
I mean its people who sit in their citadels of self righteousness who are never pleased until another game comes out that is. Then they **** about it compared to the game they were hating a few years ago.
Bethesda could make a DLC which is AMAZING and people will **** about something so tiny RUINING their game. I mean people are ENRAGED that Dragonborn is set on a new landmass.
Because Todd Howard said they wont have stuff like that. HE LIED.
I really hate the Bethesda Forums.

Then people would scream that it sold out X console, or its massages did not come in multiple settings.

My poor Archmage.
He really feels awful about using his magic like this.
I started playing him again and kind of realized that he did nothing to help Nord's view on magic.
Especially when an Altmer mage sided against the Stormcloaks....especially after he vaporized Ulfric with Lightning Storm.
Still though he took down Alduin so that much get him some credit.
If you do play as a mage get the Balanced Magic mod since it makes using destruction far more viable.

Speaking of crazy dwemer places, has anyone done Kagrenzel? I stumbled upon it last night.. I was seriously horrified. If you haven't found it yet its wayy east on the map but south of the Orc Stronghold. It's fairly short but awesome at the same time.
Is that the one with the floating orbs? That was pretty cool.
The effect was so dramatic, I thought it must be some kind of starting place for a future DLC.

Left and right monsters and bandits get killed by the PC.
As soon as Skyrim is in any type of trouble off the PC goes to fix it.
I wonder how they will hook us into Dragonborn now.

With New Vegas I'm like: wait, why should I put myself through all sorts of hazardous situations, to find the people that pretty much killed me, and think I'm dead, again?
I'm using "OMG they killed Lydia" as my motivation in Skyrim
