There were a bunch of new people at the Embassy this time- I have no idea. Also Vittoria and her fiance, and Proventus Avenicci from Whiterun. Either they patched it or it's a residual from when I briefly had Unofficial Skyrim Patch running.

Or that some only show up if you meet them/do things for them.
Although what do you expect from Imperial puppets?

Elisif though...she takes being a puppet to a whole new level. Erikur, Falk, and Tullius are the actual powers in Solitude. Falk is the only one who is actually an ally to her though fully.

Hmmm....if I were a ginger I so would add "Fire-Beard" to my middle name.

There was a cut quest called Boethiah's Bidding where she was supposed to send you to assassinate Jarl Elisif, and Erikur would take her place as Jarl.

The man might be a slime, but he'd make a hell of a lot better monarch than Elisif would. Too bad it never got implemented.

I'm not surprised Ulfric doesn't replace her, though.  Dumb as a board and does whatever she's told, you can't ask for a better puppet than that.  Erikur would sell you out to the highest bidder.  Though he's very resourceful, what with his intercepting Thalmor weapons shipments and all.

Hm... soul trap all the justiciars, or go werewolf on them and let their innards feed my werewolf perk progression?  It's so hard to decide.  Maybe a bit of both.

BTW, Igmund comes off slightly better in that gathering.  He says he's there to try to see if the empire is going to send reinforcements, and that he thinks the Thalmor are massing armies and worries the empire can't take another war.

Siddgeir and Law-Giver are a couple of my own choices as needing fast replacements, but Elisif usually gains my full support. Personally, I believe her naive manner is more of a front for remaining alive, as she shows herself to be rather resourceful at honoring Talos in the heart of Thalmor central. But then, I almost always side with the Imperials anyway.

It seems to sound like Dragonborn will be a higher lvl DLC; one to play with past PC's rather than starting one fresh. That said, am wondering new gameplay materials will be added to allow for a new take on the primary character.

She's still dumb as a board. When you convince her to let the Bard's College have their Burning Man festival again, she decides she wants it every week. There's one ambient dialogue where she suggests pulling all the troops off the front in order to have a parade. Most princess wannabes grow out of that kind of thing at around age 10 or so.

So apparently he did indulge her, yes.  I know I'm probably supposed to feel sorry for her, but the helpless female trope does the opposite for me.  No Nord woman should be that pathetic.

Personally I dont care that much for the politics.
The Stormcloaks are a bunch of nationalist
The Empire are a bunch of imperialists

Both are filled with people who are incompetent, corrupt, self serving, stupid, and human,
Neither side really gets my support in the end. I just sided with Ulfric because his views and mine aligned on the Thalmor.

The only Jarl I actually would say I liked is Brunwulf Free-Winter. Even then he is to focused on racial issues compared to the the larger scale politics.
Well I also like Vignar a bit too.

The rest are really pathetic though for the most part.

I think Elisif is concerned about Skyrim, as much as the one brain cell she has can process its situation.

Brunwulf is a nice man, but bitter and I think using the role of friend of the downtrodden to assuage his war guilt.

I always thought Elisif was an Imperial... she never came off as a Nord to me and that would have been a good reason for Ulfric to go against her and her to side so easily with the Imperials.

Prefer Elisif more than most of the Jarls, esp those supporting the Stormcloaks. She offers ready support at the first rumors of Potema which would have been proper, and is fairly humble when asked as her role of High Queen. Personally, I find her portrayal in public to be like that of Gracy Burns, Jayne Mansfield, Marilyn Monroe, and others that hid their true intelligence as a guise. Hope she remains well in Dragonborn, too.

I agree. I despise the Jarl that rules for the Stormcloaks in Dawnstar, because he comes across as not only a bit of a tyrant, but a moron both politically and militarily. He seems to be way too fascinated with war. I fear that he thinks it's all a game and he'd go the whole "We Have Reserves" route if he was in command of soldiers.

I wonder what'd happen if I killed him in his sleep....

It's a shame that neither the Legion woman nor Jod, the idiotic Jarl's Housecarl -- who was actually a good candidate in his own right IMO -- can rule for the Stormcloak side.

At least Jod had the sense to acknowledge that Dawnstar can't be sending all of their men to the front lines what with Dragons and whatnot, and he fought beside Imperial soldiers and said that they were good and brave men when they fought. And I'm willing to bet he might've allowed that servant who wanted to fight to... well... fight.
