OK, any desire I had to play Oblivion is gone. Thank you for setting me straight. I needed that. Posted Image

I am curious how (un)faithfully Solstheim will be recreated tbh.

Its going to be sad leaving this thread for a month really.
Stupid Bioware and them not allowing separate DLC threads

I also wonder since in the trailer we saw Red Mountain...maybe that means we will see it from Skyrim too.
Might make it interesting to be in the Eastern Holds.

Maybe even add Ash Storms and such for weather.

You actually can see Red Mountain if you look to the east from atop the Throat of the World, but it's a pretty far distance as you can imagine.

I'll be absolutely giddy if they let us explore the whole thing.

I really hope they do. Makes me wonder if Solstheim was affected by the eruption of the Red Mountain?

Didn't they say that this is supposed to be their biggest DLC for Skyrim to date?

How big is that map, compared to Skyrim? If there are plains, coast, and mountains, it looks like it would be fairly decent size. And I see trees! That's something I always wished Skyrim had more of.

I think the island is the one in the North coast of Skyrim if that gives any indication as to size and scale in game I'm not sure.

I think that kinda ruins immersion like "A wild Red Mountain suddenly appears!"

^I expanded my post. Feel free to form a rebuttal any time now.

In terms of rpgs you're probably right., compared to Bioware's games you're laughably correct

I read somewhere that it will be roughly the size of one of Skyrim's Holds, which is fairly sizable as the Holds are quite meaty in terms of overall landmass (and content).

So... on what seems to be a repeat of an old Conan show, Conan O'Brien played Skryim for a bit. He created a Khajit character named...

...Mr. Buttons.

He's one of us!

Sofie strutting around with her wooden sword makes me feel so proud.

I discovered something hilarious the other day.   You can improve those wooden swords.  Wanna feel even more proud?  Get that wooden sword of hers to "legendary" level.  lol

I started giving mine enchanted daggers. I assumed they would be limited to the wooden sword, but nope! You can give them any dagger, regardless of enchantment or material. Currently, both of my adopted kids are sporting Elven daggers - one with paralyze, and one with fear.

LOL

"here son, I got you a gift, complements of   Lord Mehrunes Dagon.  It should help you settle your dispute with  that bratty girl who's bulying you.

Not gonna lie, part of my desire for making a Khajiit character was for him to be adorable.  I did restrain myself from giving him a cutesy name, at least.

Speaking of, while playing said Khajiit just now, I got quite the sad little surprise.  He is a noble warrior type, and joined up with the Stormcloaks not long after escaping Helgen.  So Ralof and Gerdur were two of the first people he met.  He's also a blacksmith, and spends much of his time in Riverwood and Whiterun at the forge.

So tonight I headed to Riverwood and went to the forge to do some smithing.  Except wait, there's a dragon.  So I fought and killed it.  Must be the second or third dragon I've dealt with in Riverwood, no big deal.  So I head back to the forge...and am interrupted again, this time by a courier delivering a letter of inheritance.  Gerdur is dead.  I was totally confused by this at first, having never gotten one of these before.  But then I went across town to investigate, and found Gerdur's body lying in the grass, presumably slain by the dragon.

And now my Khajiit is having several days of quiet introspection.

Gerdur died in one of my games, too. I reloaded. That is NOT happening. Gerdur is my 2nd choice for ruler of Skyrim.

She's the owner of Riverwood mill - Ralof's sister.

The woman who runs Riverwood basically.

Well she runs the mill in town, and pays the most taxes, and employs the most people so the villagers basically let her represent the town. Especially since her family has lived there the longest.

Also the first real NPC you probably talk to after the opening usually.

Hmmm apparently there is a new shout called "Tame Dragon"

I wonder what that really implies though fully.

If I complete the civil war quest line first, will other quest be blocked off?

Do you get special dialogue options with npcs when aligned with factions?

Just started a new playthrough with a massive mod list. Very surprised the game runs without crashing, I think I have installed about 30 new quest mods including several big ones.

There is one quest in the main questline that is skipped when you have completed the civil war already. A quest to negotiate a peace treaty between the two parties.

I have only done the Stormcloak side so far, and got new dialogue with several NPC's in Whiterun after the battle there. The guards will comment on it too. Other than that I'm not sure. I haven't done much of the main quest with the same char that did the civil war, so I don't know how much comment you will receive there.
