Oh, I totally understand. I'm on my 17th character, and logged over 1000 hours quite some time ago. I stopped keeping track, because it's just so ridiculous that I've let a game take over my life like this, but I just can't help myself. It's either this or gamble, and this is much cheaper. ^ So you haven't met Esbern, or visited Sky Haven Temple? You should, so you can get the Dragonbane sword. Have you met Paarthurnax? What are you waiting for?
Or have you fallen prey to those dastardly butterflies, that do their best to distract you from your current task?
I have absolutely no idea! According to Steam I spend around 300 hours in the game so I'm sure I have been doing something!
The problem is that I always meet characters that will inspire me to try some new chars with a new RP background. Nonetheless I find new stuff everyday that I've never seen. At least I think so. Maybe I just forgot it. Can happen after 300 hours!
Maybe I'm just distracted by all that shiny stuff that's everywhere in Skyrims landscape. A cave there, a dwemer ruin there. Distracting locations!
But I swear I will stay strong this time! My orcish battlemage will see those quests! Or maybe... maybe I could finish building his library tower. All these possibilities!
Considering how many times I've done...well, a lot of the game, I was surprised; nay, shocked, to find two locations over the weekend that I'd never been in. I'm not sure how I missed them, but I did. It's a pleasant surprise to have things like that pop up every now and then.
Another place I visited that I hadn't been in since my very first playthrough was Yngol's Barrow. I just happened to be in the area near Windhelm, saw the black icon, and wondered what the heck it was. It's actually quite worthwhile to go through it - once you get the coral claw from Birna in Winterhold, you can get into the inner sanctum, and fight Yngol's shade. The prize is the Helm of Yngol, which includes 30% frost resistance, and looks very similar to the helmets Draugr Deathlords wear.
Orcish Battlemage, you say? That's what my first Orc character was. It wasn't my intent at all, but I was having a ball with magic, and the irony of it tickled me. It actually started my trend of bucking stereotypes for my characters.
