So does anyone know if the unique items in Dragonborn are leveled?

Gave my daughter Runa a Daedric Dagger of something or other enchantment and she immediately went up to her room and started swinging.

Raising a warrior already. NICE. Ysolda and I are so proud.

At first when I read that I thought you meant a real-world daughter.

Time to go to bed, if I'm starting to think that!

I have to say the DLC is pretty good, I just think it would be better to beat the main story then go there. As going there at high levels sucks out some of the fun. Idk if you can marry anyone in it, but there is alot of fantastic loot. More so a set of dual Swords and light Armor, which even though I spec in Heavy Armor, the states on it and the weapons are greater stats and effects wise than my legendary Deadric armor. Unlike danwguard this one is pretty straight forward and easy to find out what needs to be done and where. I have to say the over all feel, quests, and just general layout is better than the game its self. Albit on a far smaller scale and lacking in some side factions.

I dunno, I thought that door lead to another part of the dungeon. I told them to wait so feared having to go the whole way back to Skyrim after three days to get them again.

I got past it anyway using brute force and unintentional comedy. Stopping after every set to heal Meeko while leaving Serana to be battered around by swinging blades. Watching her getting smacked and sliced around while i heal the dog was somewhat hilarious.

Did you end up trying other doorway out of that room? The first is the swinging blades that you mentioned; the other is a stairway that goes up and out. However, right in front of the stairway is one of the Black Books.

Apocrypha is amazing. I've gotten two Black Books so far, but really haven't been actively seeking them out.

But in the meantime, I have a little bone to pick with Bethesda. I'm LOVING this DLC; don't get me wrong. But the armor...

Blackguard's armor
Well, it's a TG armor, and it looks exactly like Linwe's Armor, but with Guildmaster stats. I'm currently wearing Guildmaster armor, and have always liked Linwe's the best, so this works out for me just fine. But it seems kinda cheap.

Deathbrand armor
It
looks just like Stahlrim armor, but is enchanted. And I think it's kinda ugly. Deathbrand's enchantments are fantastic, but the armor just reminds me of a mix of glass armors from Skyrim and Oblivion, which are not my favorites.

Morag Tong armor
Looks just like Chitin armor. And I think it's kinda ugly.

But, to balance that, the Bonemold and Nordic armors are cool.

I will say, though, the quest and the items I found while retrieving Blackguard's armor were fantastic. One in particular was quite heart-warming, and I don't want to spoil it.

And I now own a house in Raven Rock. To acquire it, I did some things that put me on the Morag Tong's hit list. For a second, I was missing random vampire attacks, but now I have skilled assassin parties after me. Hooray!

And I think someone asked if there were full sets of weapons in the DLC, aside from the new Nordic ones, and there are! I've run across some Stahlrim weapons, so I'm guessing you could smith/improve those yourself.

Just had to mention, outside of my own text wall, that I found a pair of Waterwalking boots last night. Woo!

They appear to be part of a set, and I see nothing about them in the wikis.

^ What? But don't they say there's a bonus if worn with more pieces of the set? Image IPB

Dang, I could have sworn I read that in the description. I was under the impression that there may actually be more than 4 pieces. Well, that stinks. I'm not at home, so I can't check.

I don't have Dragonborn,  so I couldn't tell you if they're part of a set.  But those boots sound unique,  Because you can't enchant Boots with waterbreathing.

What are they called?

That all said, I'm  never nearly as excited for the possibility of spears  being added to a game as I am for Crossbows.  I love crossbows.  And I'm glad they're now in Skyrim.    But spears?  Meh, they're alright, but they have an overly primitive , 'savage' stigma attached to them, and unless I'm role-playing a loin-cloth wearing savage, I can never feel truly comfortable playing through a game with a spear-wielder.

??  Spears were a staple of ancient warfare, not just so-called barbarians.

I would get excited about them if they had accurate combat animations but the AI for that would no doubt melt consoles.  As it is, I have mods that add spears and halberds but I just can't see any point in using them and never have.

They're called Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking. Here's a video about them.

Edit: This is an actual set. Check out the video around :19.

Ahzidal's Gauntlets of Warding
Your Wards are 25% less effective, but absorb 50% of the magicka from incoming spells

Ahzidal's Armor of Retribution
Enemies who strike you with a melee attack have a small chance of being paralyzed

Ahzidal's Boots of Waterwalking
Waterwalking. If you wear any four Relics of Ahzidal, +10 Enchanting

Ahzidal's Helm of Vision
Your Conjuration and Rune spells cost 25% more, but can be cast at greater range

Also, What's wrong with that character's stamina bar?   How come it's at zero and stays that way, even when she's just standing around? Does walking on water instantly set your stamina to zero? (if it does, it's probably so that you can't sprint on the water) That's my guess at least.

^ Yeah, that is weird, Yrkoon. I'm not sure why that would happen, unless he's wearing a new amulet or ring that would do that. There are some really strange new items that have a positive/negative effect to them, the Ahzidal set included.

I haven't ridden a dragon yet, no. I'm running around, getting map locations, and doing small random quests here and there. I've gotten a house, but haven't even visited the Temple of Miraak. Just taking my time.

I found a word wall, and on the map, it was a dragon icon,  and there was no dragon. Just a whole boatload of Draugr. Very strange. But now I can Bend Will. Muhahaha.

Decided that I'm going to take advantage of the ability to respec my skills.

I think I'm going to go craft myself a whole new set of Daedric armor and weapons. Then enchant them as best I can and improve them to Legendary.

I also plan to raise my character's mana a little bit. Just enough to use the Bound Bow whenever he wants instead of having to rely on the "No mana cost for 30 seconds" power. Which means I'll need to use the increase magicka enchantment.

This is gonna take time. Off to go purchase some Daedra Hearts and ebony ingots. Dear lord.

Found a couple of waterwalking potions last night and was rather impressed    Havent found any ingredients yet to make some more though so am saving them for now.    Seeing this armour set though has made me pretty excited.  Cant wait to stumble upon it!

You have to bend the will of a dragon, then it'll land and you can ride it.

What happens next is it'll fly in the usual dragon flight pattern, only it won't attack anything unless you say so. You can lock on to targets and order the dragon to attack, and guide it a little as far as that goes.

You can also fast travel anywhere while still being with the dragon. Its very limited, but still pretty cool. It can be any dragon too, barring obvious exceptions like Paarthurnax or Alduin, I imagine.

I like it.

^ Ooh, I just got Bend Will last night! Well, the first word of it, anyway. I'm assuming there are three words?

@Crash - that Ahzidal set isn't even listed on the wikis, so I'm not sure many people have discovered it yet. It's not surprising; that particular quest happens in stages, and you have to be patient in between them.

Edit: Actually, the wikia site does list the items, but no real descriptions, aside from the boots. There are also two rings, and Ahzidal's Dragon Priest mask:

Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana
Ahzidal's Ring of Necromancy
Ahzidal (Mask)

Bend Will is a three word shout, you need the third word to bend the will of a dragon.

You'll get the third word as you progress through the main story.

I do use the water walking spell I got from the Ancient Spells mod. It makes exploring the northern coasts a lot less annoying. Unfortunately there's just not a lot up there to make it really useful. It's too bad that for a seafaring culture the coasts are pretty but not very rewarding.

I think you'll be happy with Dragonborn in that regard. There are lots of little islands to check out, and most of them have something on them of interest.

The first island I swam over to (before I got the Waterwalking boots) kinda spooked me. I was looking around, not paying attention, and nearly ran right up to a dragon that was perched on a rock there, once I got out of the water. Oops!

Hehehehe

Oh I got a good one over on my friend.
He kept going on about how ME3 is the "superior RPG"

So I asked him I did: "So besides replaying it, what else is there to do when it ends"

I will honestly prefer Skyrim and its ability to let me keep playing and having fun in it over RGB garbage any day.
Yes Alduin was just a typical big bad, but Skyrim is about far more then Alduin.

I mean its about exploration, conflict, a civil War, history, vampires, revenge, etc.
I am still playing it, and my main is just about to get to 300 hours of playtime.

That is double the time I got out of my main Shepard in the ENTIRE ME trilogy.
