I cured Valkyrie's vampirism by becoming a werewolf again for this new DLC, as there are just too many drawbacks with weakness to fire and no stamina/health regen in the sun. The enemies are definitely MUCH harder on Solstheim too, no doubt about it. I get detected with maxed sneak and perks, plus using enchantments to muffle and fortify sneak, and I find that super annoying, since it negates all the effort of becoming sneaky and spending perks. Does anyone know if this might be a bug, or do all Morrowind enemies have 150+ sneak? <_<

Yeah my sneaking is maxed and I have the silent perk and have boots that make me 55% harder to detect.  I dont get spotted but enemies constantly get alerted and draw their swords stopping criticals.

:(

Also my character is a Vampire (went to Solstheim as one) and somehow she has been managing to contract the disease Rockjoint every now and again...  100% disease immunity appears to be not working...

Exactly. I enter an erea, and all enemies either detect me or draw weapons and are alert. I generally just sit there in sneak for about 30 seconds, then kill them with my bow to get the damage multipliers from sneak, as I can't get close with my dagger like I can in Skyrim. Why u so sneaky, DLC enemies?! :crying:

:o Yes, Failyn is a werewolf, and she also got Rockjoint! I assumed it had to be a bug, as 100% immunity to disease is supposed to mean exactly that, isn't it? I've started carrying a Cure Disease potion while on Solstheim just so I'm not caught in a long dungeon with my pants down again.

Hey, which smithing perk do I need to craft Stahlrim weapons? I think it's time to move past Ebony.

Ebony, ironically.

Except that I took the Ebony perk, and am still not able to smith it. It doesn't even show up in any of the lists. What the heck?

Do I have to do it at a special forge? I was using the one inside my house in Raven Rock.

Bethesda have said that there will be two more expansions, one which will focus on the Nords, Snow Elves and Dwemer, and the final expansion, which will be the biggest of all and will focus on the King of Skyrim and the Aldmeri Dominion.

No, that was the reddit rumor thread which said that, NOT Bethesda.

See, that reddit thing is ruinous.  I want those expansions so badly.  :pinched:

You need to do some Skaal village quests, as they are the only ones who can teach you how to smith Stalhrim. :)

EDIT: Stalhrim quest info and locations. Obviously, spoilers.

^ Ahh, ok. I stupidly proceeded with the MQ stuff, so everyone in the Skaal village, including the blacksmith I rescued, is in a perpetual "go make Miraak pay" phase. Poop.

I guess now I have to go fight Miraak and his minions. I hear that's brutal.

I went back and looked at Pete Hines' Twitter to see exactly what they said:

"As far as other DLCs, we're not done working on Skyrim content.  We'll let everyone know when we have new details/ info to share."

I'm still not getting my hopes up, because in the same context he's saying they are working on getting the already released stuff out on PS3.  Y'all can assume that means there will be more Skyrim expansions if you want, but I'm not counting my mudcrabs til they've hatched.

I guess that seems about right, although I wouldn't be surprised if an Aldmeri Dominion DLC does turn up as the last one, it seems to be the right thing to do. Unless, of course, they are set to be the focus of the next game...

I think it will be the focus on the next game.  This isn't an event which is going to disappear any time soon.  However as it is right now its only a curiosity.   A well done DLC would secure a lot of interest in it.  We all know there will be a clash.   A DLC which goes on to spark the next war and the events of VI would be very awesome

Can't they do it for both?: Start the war in the DLC and then follow up with it in the next game or something. I'd like that and so would many others.

Maybe even with the mysterious Dwemer in it as well. That would be interesting. And mean a whole lot of extra trouble. As if Skyrim didn't have enough problems already.:o

I don't think they will cover the Thalmor's self-destruct in an expansion, either. They might do it in between games, though, as a way to reset the world. I suppose I'm in skeptic mode but I'm not counting on a chance to beat down the Thalmor in-game, either. It's possible the next big conflict will be an invasion from outside Tamriel. They are always hinting that the Maormer and Tsaeci are out there lurking.

Then there's this Landfall thing that MK has hinted about- but that is probably their exit from the series, if they ever decide to nuke Elder Scrolls for good.

Stahlrim has its own tree, like Iron, Dragon, Daedric, etc etc. Just need Ebony perks to craft it.

As for how to craft them, there's a few quests that need to be done first, I think. Like going over to Glover in Raven Rock and finding his Ancient Nordic Pickaxe, then talking to him about where to find stuff on Stahlrim. He'd send you to the town in the north of Solstheim and from there talk to ALL THE PEPOLES(still funnier than saying people).

Eventually you'll figure it out. Questy Questy Quest Quest Quest. Then crafty crafty craft craft craft.

I agree it tends to be ouside the game, for numerous reasons. There are a lot of things brewing and that are potentially on the horizon.  The winds of change are coming...

@Prince - Yeah, like I said a little earlier on this page, I proceeded with the MQ before turning in the quest to the blacksmith in the Skaal village, so they're stuck there until I defeat Miraak. I already have the pickaxe, and found the Stahlrim source, rescued the blacksmith, and all that.

I'm sure once I've made Miraak my beyotch, all will be well. Image IPBImage IPB

Yes, I mean lets face it: Alduin, the World Eater and God of Destruction hasn't died because he got hit in the head by a piece of glass a few times. Also, with Dovahkiin's power increasing, especially with the close of the Dragonborn DLC, there has to be some sort of repercussion on Tamriel. And I have a feeling that that we haven't heard the last of those pesky Daedra invasions...

Haha, yeah. I'm sticking to my full Daedric gear. Though I can see Stahlrim being a benefit to those who don't mind using gear that isn't statistically the best EVAR.

Well, if you work on your alchemy, along with your smithing, you can get any material up past the magic number anyway.

I prefer Daedric armor for my heavy armor-wearing characters, but always go for Dragonscale for light armor. All of the other light choices are kinda meh, except for the TG armors.

But I love this new Nordic stuff. Especially on Frea. Image IPB I like it when you can actually see the character's face.

I wonder if the religious ritual has something to do with the Hist?

I don't know.  Don't think it was specified.  Did I read somewhere that the Argonians revere certain daedra?  If so, they might consider Scathing Bay a pilgrimage site since Sheogorath is the one who threw the rock that eventually caused the disaster.  Maybe they see it as a kind of salvation since it was giving the whammy to their former oppressors.

It might be too strong a word to say that it was a religious ritual.  I'm not sure anyone knows much about how the Argonians view religion.  Or view anything.

Yeah, the Argonians seem somewhat enigmatic; the exodus of far-flung Argonians returning to Black Marsh during the Oblivion Crisis seemed to indicate that they have some connection with the Hist. I'd like to know more about them.

I liked the Remnants, and I've always brought them together; it was nice having the Remanants at my side at the Battle of Hoover Dam, reunited. It was my first time saving Simms from Burke. There are a lot of places to see and things to do, and I was never able to get around to saving Simms the first few times I've played. Given Tenpenny's "Wasteland Safari" and what he did to Mei Wong, he's slated for execution.

I've never finished the Remnants quest.  I did save Simms once- by beating Burke to death with a baseball bat.  LOL  I haven't ever blown up Megaton- I just can't do it.  I watched the scene when the spousal unit played that.  My favorite way of resolving that is to spare Megaton by seducing Burke with Black Widow.  His love letters are pretty hilarious.  Backhand to those who say that there aren't different non-combat ways to resolve quests in Bethesda games.  Nothing in Fallout New Vegas was as memorable or fun as Burke in Megaton.

I've heard about that; does Burke still try to kill you if you've romanced him? His Hit Squad attacked me, but I didn't see a letter on any of them since I killed Burke. Yeah, BSG games do give you options, like in handling President Dave of the Republic of Dave. Personally, I found some of the most hilarious stuff in New Vegas to be in the DLC Old World Blues. I loved the characters and story in that DLC.

Oh really?

I read a quest where a money lender tries sending thugs after you if you help someone out of a debt.
Wow People in Solstheim are just as dumb as the ones in Skyrim.

^ That's not quite accurate. The guy in question is an Orc that hangs out in the bar. He simply approaches you himself, along with his bodyguard, and tells you that by helping the other guy, you owe him money. It wasn't a large amount, so I paid it. No big deal.

You will not believe how rich this DLC makes you. Seriously, loot and resources everywhere. If you're not absolutely rich within a couple of days, you might want to stop catching butterflies, and start playing the game. Hehe.

So are there side-side quests? Like on skyrim? From what I have heard, this DLC is packed with so much content it makes all of bioware dlc looks like skin and bones.

Actually, come to think of it, by defualt bioware dlc's are skin and bones.
