You know I suddenly found that I LOVE archery and trying to pull off very hard shots.

I love that its not just a skill you spam but need actual talent to really pull off.
I once shot a bandit at what had to be more then 2 football fields.

Shot him right off a wall from a mountain sadly no kill cam though.

Should've recorded it and sent it to Bungie so they could give you Recon Armor for your Dragonborn.

Now there's an idea! I wonder what stats it would have?

I'm with you, Giggles. It took me a long time to appreciate archery, and now all of my characters use it. Even my Khajiit mage, if that makes sense. Heh.

It's fun trying to pull off impossible shots, and to take out every last bandit, reaver, whatnot, before they're even close to you. The side effect is that your armor rating doesn't go up. However, just wait until you start fighting Dwarven Ballistas in Dragonborn. They'll actually stagger you, and penetrate your armor.

You know I dont understand the hatred over Hearthfire really.

Its kind of nice having a DLC where the point is to not CRUSH KILL DESTROY.
I do think its bare bones, but its not offensive to my very being.

I find it so amusing people actually do complain about it at all.   I think its a great DLC.

Oblivion had three DLCs devoted to homes. (Fighter's Stronghold, Vile Lair & Wizard's Tower)

Skyrim gets one and its relentlessly attacked?

Almost finished the Prologue to my Skyrim fanfic. Now I just need to think of a badass title for the series.

"Death to the Thalmor" just doesn't sing. It doesn't dance. Maybe I'll name it after a favorite song of mine by one of my favorite bands, Tristania.

Of Ruins and a Red Nightfall seems fitting, considering the general idea of this series.

I think it's good. That sounds like the title of a book that you would find in Tamriel.

I don't think the elves are meant to look pretty. Dunmer are supposed to look scary, Altmer b*tchy and Bosmer creepy, and all of them are supposed to resemble animals. Embrace the weird. At least they can wear shoes unlike DA elves.

The elves are supposed to resemble animals? I didn't notice that. I liked that the Dunmer aren't supposed to be pretty; they are my favorite pick to roll with as a protagonist. Speaking of the Atlmer, I wonder what happened to Queen Morgiah of Firsthold, since I know the Atlmer dislike outsiders, and the Thalmor came into power after the Oblivion Crisis. I also don't think it was ever explained what "first" she owed to the King of Worms (given their arrangement in Daggerfall).

Love Archery; sniping has never been so much fun! And Blocking with a bow is amusing and fun; almost able to see the frustration in the skeltal visage of a Death Lord should he get close.

But here is the thing with armor for me: avoiding damage seems to be more pragmatic anyway. I never really got it that to increase my armor Perks meant  being hit. Goal is to try and reach as close to the 567 cap in some manner, and cease to worry over it. Be it Light or Heavy (though I prefer the looks of the latter), it is not too difficult; have rarely taken any except the base Perks.

I know the Altmer and Dunmer are meant to have a "bird" look.  To me the Bosmer look like squirrels.  lol  Maybe deer.

Does anyone use Imperials at all? I've tried using them but I always get bored with them.

My main is an Imperial.

The only thing consistent about my mains from each TES game is that they are humans really.

I think I have 3 or 4 Imperials. I always stop using them too, because they bore the crap out of me. Too generic. Pretty, but pretty boring. I know it's blasphemy, but I kinda feel the same way about Nords. The frost resistance is handy, though.

I just play them because their racial power is basically saying this to every container in the world:

I hardly sold anything and made over 200K in gold.

I think cash is a silly racial bonus; especially in a game that's weighted towards making you rich.

Or...it is the way I play it. Even if you spend just a tiny bit of time on smithing and enchantment, and sell your creations, you will be floating in cash in no time. Or loot every burial urn like I do - sometimes I wonder why I get all OCD on opening those stupid things, especially when they typically only hold a crappy ring and a few septims. But you never know what might be in there!

Like giggles, my main character is an Imperial as well.

I admit the gold trait is a useless bonus in Skyrim.

Hey, if it works for you, awesome. That's really all that matters. Image IPB

I actually have an Imperial that I was trying to get to look like Vex. I decided to tweak her just a bit, though, because every time I looked at her, I could hear Vex crabbing at me. Heh.

Well I have an:
Orc, Altmer, Dunmer, Breton, Redguard, Khajiit, and Argonian already in play.

Mostly to play around with some stats and such.
Also to get achievements.

My Khajiit got me so many achievements!

He is basically the Pimp Master General of Skyrim at this point.

One you can buy in Raven Rock, two you can get right inside the door, and the other two possible gems are at the other two Dwemer ruins. I went back to Nchardak to get the last one, last night in fact. It's in the Aqueduct (you have to use a cube to get to it). If you go there, be sure to swim under the water in the room where the boilers are - there are a few small chests tucked away. And it's kinda cool down there.

I'm not sure where the gem is at in Fahlbtharz, but I apparently missed it.

You only need 4 to get through the trials.

I use an Imperial. I don't look at him really because he's always in heavy Daedric Plate, but then again it'd be no different had I played some other race. Only in my head.

In every single TES game, I have played a human. lol In any game that allows you to choose race, I choose human. I usually roll a breton for mage, Imperial for my thief and a nord for my warrior. I must be the most boring person alive lol.

Though in Skyrim, I am not too happy with the way bretons and imperials look. Bretons have that weird forehead thing going on and imperials always look....constipated.

Well, I think Skyrim's economy is balanced for using the various skill trainers. I use them a lot and I'm perma broke. And that using crafting and enchanting. And looting every single container there is, obviously.

That said, I would never play a generic Imperial. Both the skillz and the lookz of the other races are far more interesting. With Orcs, Altmers, Dunmers, Bretons and Nords... who'd want to play an Imperial?

*snip*

The first one looks a bit like mine! I usually place a circlet on her and you never even notice. Nord females, especially the second preset, iirc--look the best, imo.

I really like your second character's eyes, if you remember which slider number you used, could you share?
