Well I have an:
Orc, Altmer, Dunmer, Breton, Redguard, Khajiit, and Argonian already in play.
You have a lot of characters, I've tried doing that but I always end up bored with everyone except my Altmer.

I mean for once the PC is not fighting in a war, hunting a dragon, or dealing with life or death issues.
Its just a fun little side thing to do that really.
Now to wait for Dragonborn...sigh.

Seriously?
Personally I've found the character design in Morrowing very lacking.
And when I look at the elves from Oblivion, my eyes start to bleed....

Yeah, there is ONE thing that Skyrim does better by leaps and bounds than all the other ES games: Races appearances. Anyone here remember what Orcs looked like in previous ES games? They were Florescent Green. <gag> Yeah... Yuck. Even back then, when we didn't have anything better to compare them to, they were Still painfully horrid to look at.
Agreed

I think you will be pleased with Dragonborn, then. Within the first couple of days of playing it, the amount of cash-in-pocket I had went up by about 50k+ in septims. And I've been hoarding (not selling, at least). All these new armors and weapons? I might want to use them! And Solstheim has veins of gems literally everywhere - rubies, sapphires, etc.Haplose wrote...

I think cash is a silly racial bonus; especially in a game that's weighted towards making you rich.
Or...it is the way I play it. Even if you spend just a tiny bit of time on smithing and enchantment, and sell your creations, you will be floating in cash in no time. Or loot every burial urn like I do - sometimes I wonder why I get all OCD on opening those stupid things, especially when they typically only hold a crappy ring and a few septims. But you never know what might be in there!
Well, I think Skyrim's economy is balanced for using the various skill trainers. I use them a lot and I'm perma broke. And that using crafting and enchanting. And looting every single container there is, obviously.
That said, I would never play a generic Imperial. Both the skillz and the lookz of the other races are far more interesting. With Orcs, Altmers, Dunmers, Bretons and Nords... who'd want to play an Imperial?
There is a particular crypt I found that has piles of septims on the floor. Literally. When you loot it, you loot a pile, not individual coins. It was hella fun.
And I'm with you on playing other races. Why be vanilla, when there are so many other wonderful flavors out there?

I've grown accustomed to having two Dremora Lords along for the ride, so honestly....it seemed to happen rather fast. I think I probably just got lucky and exploited the fight, tbh. Miraak has a shout that literally almost killed me, and if I hadn't been quicker on my feet, I would have been dead. I was able to dodge it after that, especially with what I'm calling my "Dremora Distraction". Hehe.
I shudder to think what it will be like for my other characters, without the DD help. Speaking of which, I think I'm going to pull my original Khajiit out of retirement. Pack your bags, Ashirani, you're going to Solstheim! And now I just need to remember where in the heck I left off with her. I think she was like character 5 or 6 out of 17.
P.S. I fought the last dragon priest (Vahlok the Jailor), and like Bekkael, didn't get a mask for it, either. Very sad. Apparently, this is by design. The dungeon was super fun, though. Lots of puzzles.
But I was a little sad to kill him. There is a book about it, The Guardian and the Traitor, which I found to be quite interesting.

Vahlok was tasked with guarding Miraak. There is a book about it, The Guardian and the Traitor, which I found to be quite interesting.
So, how did you like Miraak as a villain? Did he at least had more character development then Alduin?

This interaction, plus seeing him in Apocrypha kind of makes you feel like you know a bit more about him than Alduin...but not by much more. I do wish I knew more about him. With this being my first run, I probably missed some things.
As a villain though, he's pretty good. Not Handsome Jack good, but good nonetheless.

I know, aren't they great? The Stahlrim weapons are a bit strange, but I'm dual wielding Stahlrim swords, with the Chaos enchantment, and that looks pretty cool. Icy blue with a purple glow.
You can't go wrong with the Nordic weapons, though. They're all pretty outstanding in design.

For instance, nearly the last race I tried out was Redguard, and they ended up being one of my favorites. I had a false start (Nadya) early on, but lost interest in that one quickly. She was just too dark to see any of her features. I tried again later with Minya, and fell in love with her. You just never know!

It may be because I am not that good at creating characters with other races. I have tried and they look so subpar compared to my human ones. I have thought about a wood elf several times, but in the CC....bah, I gave up. She never looked good. Perhaps if I ever see a nice looking one and can talk the creator out of the slider settings, I'd be more inclined to play one.

They use a few different totem animals. The original Atmoran gods were totems, that's why you see animal figures in the temple wall carvings. These evolved into the Nord pantheon which was later adapted to the imperial gods.Jaison1986 wrote...
Eh, I aways tought bears were the symbolic figure that nords used. And holy mother of smithing! I just saw the new nordic weapons that can be crafted. This gotta be the coolest weapon design I had ever seen in an elder scrool game.

Combined, I've been playing with two characters 70+ since Dawnguard. I estimate I have probably put in about 70-80 hours before spotting one.
Really didnt think they were that rare!

Grrrrrrr! <_< Can anyone explain the logic of WHY they would make smithing Nordic armor, which is an exclusively heavy armor, governed by the Advanced Armors perk which is parked smack-dab on the light armor side of the smithing tree???
Also, why does Stalhrim heavy armor not have a heavy armor shield available? The only Stalhrim shield in existence is the light armor kind! I don't know who was in charge of weapons/armor for this DLC, but they messed Valkyrie up completely and she has a sad now.

@happy Why didn't you get a mask either from that dragon priest? Did you say it was intended and not a bug?
