@happy Why didn't you get a mask either from that dragon priest? Did you say it was intended and not a bug? Image IPB

According to the uesp wiki, that particular dragon priest just doesn't drop a mask. Honestly, I never got close enough to him to even see if he was wearing one.

Here's the quote:

Unlike most named dragon priests, Vahlok does not have an eponymous mask.

Okay, that actually makes me feel much better to know that I wasn't the victim of another bug then. Thanks! ^_^

****************warning, rant below*******************

Grrrrrrr! <_< Can anyone explain the logic of WHY they would make smithing Nordic armor, which is an exclusively heavy armor, governed by the Advanced Armors perk which is parked smack-dab on the light armor side of the smithing tree??? :crying: My heavy armor Nord wants to make it herself, but she would have to spend two perks to do so. :(

Also, why does Stalhrim heavy armor not have a heavy armor shield available? The only Stalhrim shield in existence is the light armor kind! I don't know who was in charge of weapons/armor for this DLC, but they messed Valkyrie up completely and she has a sad now. :crying::crying::crying:

**********************end rant***********************

My guess is to totally mess us up. I had the exact opposite case, as my Bosmer wears light armor, and really wanted to wear Ahzidal's set (you know, for side boob), which is heavy armor. But I wanted to craft Stahlrim weapons, for my return visit to Skyrim, which is the Ebony perk tree.

Instead, my girl is wearing Deathbrand, which I find to be...not visually pleasing. But it's light armor, and has nice enchantments.

You got that right! Valkyrie was/is my first character, so I put perks in lots of places I didn't need to (lockpicking, destruction magic, and a few other places). I can't wait to get her to the point where I can respec. :)

I just traveled to the Island and it looks awesome, especially with the red mountain in the distance. Squeeee! (at least I think it's the red mountain)

Well I've only played an hour today, I just haven't had any time to myself. But come the Christmas Holidays, I'm going to see how many days I can play straight with out sleep!

I haven't bothered getting my house in solitude yet and just jumped straight into the DLC, and my character, still the only one :pinched: But his heavy armour, smithing, enchanting and archery are all either 100 or in the 80's so I should be fine getting stuck right in. :D

It won't allow my character to do this. I tried different spells and nothing worked.

^ Agreed. Vanilla is delicious. Heh. Image IPB All I'm saying is, try some of the others; you might be pleasantly surprised.

For instance, nearly the last race I tried out was Redguard, and they ended up being one of my favorites. I had a false start (Nadya) early on, but lost interest in that one quickly. She was just too dark to see any of her features. I tried again later with Minya, and fell in love with her. You just never know!

Here is my breton. She is pretty vanilla, but I like her.

I might try my hand with a wood elf sometime, like I said. If I find one I like.

Sorry for the quality.

Oh you think kidnapping the guy who saved my life in the opening (Ralof) to be funny?
I find cutting your head off and raising your corpse to fight your friends funny to!

You know Dragonborn was damn near the best DLC Bethesda's ever released.

I love returning to Solsteim, Bloodmoon was my favorite expansion for Morrowind. I love seeing so much of Morrowind in HD (Silt Striders! Dunmer buildings! Mushroom Towers!)

But there's one... tiny... large problem with the DLC that really makes me sad.

All over the dialogue, all over the side quests, all around Solsteim there's a simple theme that keeps repeating. The theme that pursuing power will eventually corrupt or destroy you. Miraak's backstory has it, the dig you fund is all about it, the Telvanni guy from Morrowind explores it (his experiments lead to an awful lot of suffering and perhaps even the ash spawn), and most importantly everything about Hermeauous Mora is built around the idea that forbidden knowledge leads to madness and death.

I started doing side quests and avoiding the critical path. Which was fun. And as I began to see this theme repeated (and it's been a part of the island since the story of the Greedy Man in Bloodmoon) I started getting this giddy feeling in my head. Will Bethesda allow us to fall by pursuing Miraak? What cost is too great to stop the first Dragonborn from returning to the world?

Of course the moment I had the thought I tried to kill it. Bethesda is not known for making choices a priority in their games. But at the same time... Dawnguard had two opposing factions you could join and the ending was different enough based on that choice....

And then came the main mission where you have to go to the Skaal shaman....

...I wish there'd had been a choice in that. Doing what the game does and stopping Miraak before he enters the world... or choosing not to stop him and having to fight a much stronger Miraak on Solsteim... and why not with the loss of some people in the Skaal village or Raven Rock.

Regardless, my redguard just retired. He cannot continue going down paths like this. It's time to just grow crops and play with his kids.

So, who'd like to help me finish up my Skyrim fanfic's prologue by giving me some helpful critique on what should be added/taken out/reworded/and so on?

Does anyone use Imperials at all? I've tried using them but I always get bored with them.

Imperials are boring to me too. I don't really like the Empire though, so that could be why.

Redguards are my favorite man race. Their lore is badass. I agree with their views on magic (anti Illusion and Conjuration/Necromancy), I'm Native American, so I have the 'red skin' part down, they just make the most sense for me.

I can play Imperial. It's not my favorite.

I'm a Nord, Redguard, Orc, and Breton person. And no matter how many times I've tried over the last 10 years I cannot ever play an argonian or kajhet for more than 2 hours.

I started playing this game few weeks ago , and I'm having fun.Maybe too much.:P

I'm playing a nord female , she's sort of a mage/archer.I was planning to play full mage but sneaking and one shooting with an arrow is addictive.

I really got hooked on the game because of an orphan in Whiterun (I got the hearthfire dlc).
First i went to the mage tower , didn't really like the place ...but I thought being Archmage might be cool.
I was supposed to find a staff somewhere ,but I found myself in whiterun talking with this orphan girl ,she sort of makes me sad ,so I wanted to adopt her.
Anyway , I got some gold , buy a small house , and adopt her.
I did all the quest in whiterun , so my pc is pretty popular in this town , I even joined the companions.

Sadly I must find a new home and move , because the girl + one bunny +lydia walking around in this small place is a nightmare.

I also have a "horse problem" , I think I had five of them.I lost one , one dead by dragons , others by wildlife , and a few just falling and breaking their legs...

One of the other thing i like is how random some stuff just happen , going to the inn in whiterun for gossip , being challenged to a drinking contest and ending up in a temple , being accused of kidnapping goat.
Or meeting a talking dog on the road and decide to follow him.
