Well if someone has adapted and has no problem with it, good for them. I think most agree that the UI is terrible. The popularity of SkyUI alone should show that, though I don't think it's that much of an improvement either. I used Categorized Favorites and lately have gotten dependent on a few mods with sortable containers (the archmage quarters is suddenly my favorite digs for this reason). I still get the maddening thing where if you don't click *just right* on a dialogue choice it either closes the menu or selects another one at random. grrr

Haven not tested it myself yet, but I think this will help ya.

End of the day, it's all subjective.SpunkyMonkey wrote...
I agree with a lot of his points - maybe not in the same way, but I did feel very let down by Skyrim. I'd be interested to hear your positive view on your experience with it and the flipside of that coin.
Especially videogames because the player is a significant part of the game.
Hence, every review (or similar) is subjective, open to disagreement.
Everyone has different likes, different priorities and thus different opinions. The author of that piece is particularly arrogant and rude in objecting to reviewers having different tastes and priorities than him.
Personally, I think Grand theft Auto: Vice City is one of the worst games I've had the misfortune to try to play due to it's nonsensical missions, bland driving and awkward shooting but some people praise it as if it was one of the best games ever.
While some of his criticisms have some validity, he is placing many unrealistic demands expecting a level of perfection that no game features. And some of his demands are debatable - would it really better for the character to be a passive witness to events going on around him rather than the instigater or catalyst bringing about change?

I see. So since you never had any problems with the interface and it conforms with your idiosyncratic way of playing, it could not possibly be objectively bad.
No wonder Spunkymonkey feels Skyrim fanboys cant admit the game's faults...
Horrible is not a factual debate; tis one of opinion. Mine is based on 1400+ hrs on the PC that indicates that this may not be the case. No wonder why some like to pigeon-hole others to try and win such points of contention.

There is a mod fix for this; saw GopherVids mention this in one of his more recent vids, though it sound like Nexus only.
Think this is it:

nevermind; was responding from last page and missed the previous ref.
Here is another vid some may find festive. Merry Christmas!

Any word on another dlc after Dragonborn?
Well, so far every TES game since Morrowind has only had two major expansions if I'm not mistaken. Here's hoping Skyrim is different...

Files in the PC version of Dragonborn will normally hint at the next DLC.

Except that it won't. Skyrim DLC will have Xbox exclusivity. That is what Bethesda said way way back in the fall of 2011. It has held true ever since. No reason to think the next DLC will be different.

I'm doing the Season Unending quest with my current character and talked Tullius and Ulfric into going. Afterwards I decided to fast travel to Ivarstead just to talk to a couple of the guards for some bit dialogue, and while talking to two of them on a bridge who comes charging in attacking them....TULLIUS! He was quickly owned by both guards and proceeded to continue chasing after them and getting beat down for a solid 5 minutes.
It's the little things...

A bit off topic, but does anybody else think the imperial armour looks lame ?
Can't be off topic. It's Skyrim related, so it's automatically on topic.
Anyway, yes. I also think the Stormcloak's armor looks lame -- well, not Galmar's outfit. I also always find it funny how they'll see me wearing better armor and be like "Here, you're now one of us! Wear this awesome outfit!"
In the sense of it being an army with uniforms, I can kinda understand it. But really... who the hell would go "Yeah, let me get out of this Ebony Armor and slip into some Imperial armor that's so much weaker!"

The reason to think why the next DLC will come out for everyone at the same time is because Microsoft has a deal with beth that states the first two EXPANSIONS of SKYRIM will come for the box first. The third EXPANSION will be for everyone.

This has proven erroneous. We've already had 3 pieces of Xbox exclusive post-launch content. Haven't we.When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim arrives in stores this November (likely by way of carrier dragon), it'll assuredly feature many, many hours of content. Nevertheless, gamers will want more, and Bethesda has promised post-launch content to be of the "substantial" variety. The first two pieces of that content will arrive exclusively on Xbox Live Marketplace at least "30 days before it's available anywhere else."
Again, no reason to think the magic number will be 4, especially since no one has said so.

At least I can get the Aetherial Shield out of my inventory now.
Now back to using Slow Time to make a mockery of my foes.
Nothing like being able to tell time to sit down and shut up.
Besides Pumpkin Pie that is.

Hearthfire is not an EXPANSION. It was originally supposed to be added with dawnguard.
But let's just wait and see. Time will tell.
I'm crossing my fingers for dragonborn to be released on the 1st...but that seems like a pipe dream.

That's true, and perhaps the exclusivity deal with M$ does indeed nitpick like that with its language.MarchWaltz wrote...

Hearthfire is not an EXPANSION. .
The official press release we got, though, doesn't specify at all, (it just says "content drops", whatever that's suposed to mean) and for that matter, a real nitpicker would point out that we haven't gotten *any* EXPANSION PACKS yet. (by comparison, Shivering Isles, Bloodmoon, and Tribunal were actual expansion packs... you could buy them on hard copy at retailers. They had their own CDs, manuals, copy protections, etc. And they cost more)
But whatever. In the end, Time-based exclusivity is much ado about nothing. We PC users are getting Dragonborn next week! Don't know about you, but the last month of waiting hasn't been all that painful to bear for me.
