hmmm possible, your right though they are the robes I picked up from Ildari in High Point Tower. As far as I know thats the only way to get the Telvanni Robes.

Maybe I've just forgotten. I could have sworn I tried them on and snapped a photo, and didn't notice anything amiss, but who knows. I'll check later on, now I'm curious.

I've been having some weird bugs in this Dragonborn run. Glover Mallory will say one sentence and stop...every time...so I have to keep prodding him along to hear the whole story. And some of the new followers have had duplicate lines of dialogue available (ie: 'I think we should part ways' x 2).

Anything, bug-wise, is possible with Bethesda. Heh.

They are some interesting ones! I had a couple of little bugs as well. Nothing game breaking, but its certainly not as polished as it should probably be.

The guards at Raven Rock keep saying "wait dont I know you" even though I have no bounty instead of the usual dialogue. There is also an Ancient Dragon body that wont disappear. Every time I exit a building it magically drops out of the sky. Also occasionally caves wont load properly so you fall through the floor.

Oh and the Redoran Guard who is dead outside Raven Rock starts to rise into the air every time you get close enough to him. Hopefully he will disappear eventually.

Wow, I haven't seen any of those things...well, except dropping through the floor (edit: and stuff falling from the sky). That happened to me in the abandoned house in Raven Rock, and once in a cave, but I've been pretty lucky so far.

Although that transparency issue started for me with Dawnguard. I don't think I've ever been inside Moldering Ruins, without the water areas being 'drop zones'.

So are you able to loot that dragon skeleton each time? I think that's just uncle Sheo saying hello. Image IPB

What do the telvani robes and dunmer clothes look like?

I'll see if I can find images of them...

Edit: OK, these are not great images. I'll try to snap some photos when I get home from work.

According to the uesp wiki, all of that stuff is just considered 'clothing'.

Looks good.  I've been thinking of making a cloth mage using a staff + magic.

^ You're in luck, then. The Telvanni wizard shown in that first image, Neloth, will sell you blank staves that you can craft into pretty much whatever you want. You have to do a couple of favors for him before he opens up the room for you, but once he does, yay! Or you can buy pre-made ones from him, too.

Havent had any issues with Dawnguard, they seemed to have started with Dragonborn for me.  Although Serana is officially lost in one my plays.  I left her in Castle Volkihar and she hasnt come back since.  Probably two months of game time has passed now and she still wont appear.   I just hope she turns up when Im off wandering sooner or later.

:(

Unfortunatly the Dragon is just a shell and I cant loot it. He just drops out the sky, lands and then stays there. You can walk through him so there is no danger of him randomly falling on an NPC and killing him. That be a terrible way to lose most of Raven Rock.

I had been reading about Miraak past lately, and I can't help it but to think, this guy got some respect from me, because he never bow down to anyone. Be it dragon or daedra, he just make temporary alliances in order to get what he needs from them. Our dragonborn could learn a thing or two from this guy. Screw Mora, screw Nocturnal! Let's just get what we want from them and leave!

Yeah, I'm just a little bemused at how people seem so desperate for everyone to love games such as Skyrim. I think the main reason being that it's an attitude which encourages developers to release buggy, lackluster games with the excuse that they are "Vanilla" - when in reality that's just them being lazy and often forgetting to include a game itself on top of the pretty engine and foundation.

Funnily enough Vice City is a game which I've just retirned to playing myself. The shooting and sandbox mechanics are very dated and poor, but I still love the driving feel (unrealistic? yes.....but fun!) and the games atmosphere is just amazing. That soundtrack and whole neon-80's vibe is just pure magic and, for me, what the entire game is about. It's also got some really fun missions and OTT action.

I guess in both games cases the asthetics play a big part in their appeal, but I had a lot more fun with Vice Cities gameplay than I did Skyrim's.

That says a lot to me; not about Skyrim, but the person behind the wheel so to speak.

Only can speak from personal experience, but my Skyrim PC game flaws are small; nothing seen which has been of consequence. And yesterday I witnessed an IG explanation for one such reported bug: hovering mammoths. In this case there were at least two giants that were picking up the pachyderm, and lifting it aloft like a sqeeing child! Total LOL moment! In past settings and occasions (and only a few), I may have been too far away to witness the giants.

At the end of the day,  I will nearing 1500+ hrs of Skyrim; nada, zilch, and zero for the entire GTA series experience.

^ Yeah, I actually like Miraak...except when he steals dragon souls from me! Image IPB

However, in his current situation, he doesn't really have a choice but to serve Hermaeus Mora. It's probably a large part of his motivation to bust out of Apocrypha, to take over Solstheim.

I suppose you're not a werewolf? That one was fun.  If you have a stealth character, a sneak attack might do enough damage... otherwise that old guy is really though to defeat indeed.

If you have Bound Weapon spells, this can be helpful. Khajiit only require their claws, IMO. But a pickaxe can make do, esp if one gets the first attack using possible Sneak Attack bonuses.

Depending on wether you can put up with an odd reload animation there is a flintlock rifle mod ut there

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26653

As for katanas theres dozens of the things out there.

On the topic of mods though... Does anyone know of a mod to allow one to look down the sights of a crossbow when using eagle eye?

Just get the perk that allows you to do 15 times back stab damage.
Get two shivs, and POW dead Madanach.

I never played the Elder Scrolls games for their mechanics. Frankly I've always found those awful, and although I think Skyrim is leaps and bounds beyond Oblivion (the low point in the series for me), it's still not without its flaws. Balancing is way off, crafting is too good, combat isn't quite dynamic enough, and so on and so forth.

However, I do think Skyrim is an awesome game because of the world and the exploration, which is why I have played it for hundreds of hours. I also think it's a very positive thing that the mechanics have improved. It gives me a lot of hope for future titles.

Some people seem to think you can't have a game if it's just a sandbox world with exploration, and I've heard claims that something like Morrowind or Skyrim is hardly even a game because you can't "win" it and it doesn't tell you what to do or pressure you to follow a specific storyline. I have always thought this was complete and utter nonsense. I also don't think it makes it a worse game. That's just what it's about, and it's too bad if some people aren't able to enjoy that.

Yet for me, it is quite different. This is my first sandbox game actully played (have MW somewhere; never played), and while I do enjoy the exploration, I am quite a story-driven Player. And while all the integrated tales are not always the best, the sheer number of them found in every cave, dungeon, ruin, cabin, etc in this 16 sq mile scenic wonderland is nothing short of amazing to me.

And I adore the mechanics as a general rule. While not a fan of 1st person melee, the 3rd person view is quite good, and the Killcams are incredible. Archery is terrific; maybe the best I have played. While I cannot see me being very good in any kind of m/p setting with this, in solo I do fairly well.

I have thought of installing an Uncapper mod; one that allows you to gain experience from Skills already at max. That said, the Toolkit, community, and company approval of both makes such things quite possible.

It's all good, as some say....

I lol'd.

My only qualm about killing Madanach was that it made me have to kill Borkul the Beast. I liked him. I wish there was a way for me to kill Madanach, spare Borkul, and not have anybody from Markarth bite the bullet.

Couldn't care less about any of the other guys in Cidhna Mine though -- especially Madanach, who deserves a blade in his stomach. But Borkul's my boy.

^ I dunno, I like Madanach, and I empathize with him. I did that quest one time, sided with Madanach, and waltzed out of the mine with a rather awesome set of armor that looked particularly cute on my Breton.

That whole outcome suited me just fine - Madanach lived, a whole bunch of corrupt city guards, and everyone else on the payroll, wiped out. I bumped into Madanach again later, while doing Molag Bal's quest. He and everyone in the cave were rather welcoming.

I usually do Season Unending instead, though, which marks that quest as complete if it's active. I really should try it again.

Sure enough, Crash, you were right; I checked last night. I'm not sure how I missed that huge gaping hole and leather straps. Waa.

Oh well, I guess I'll just wear Miraak's armor instead. Image IPB

Eh just kill everyone involved.
Madanach, Silver-Blood, Forsworn, and Guard alike.

More blood is always good.

On a side note....
DRAGONBORN TOMORROW...maybe...hopefully.

If not then:

Yeah I wished I could turn Madanach's crew against him or at least bring them around to enlightened self-interest, but I suppose it's unrealistic.  I have no trouble eliminating Madanach though.  The hagravens slathering over the prospect of kidnapping more innocent travelers on the roads is always in the back of my mind.

*shudders* Hagravens! Image IPB

I'm still creeped out by the sounds they make, and how they look. I like to build the Trophy Room in my Hearthfire houses, so I can display a Hagraven in there, to scare the kids. They don't really seem moved by it like I'd expect. Hmmpf.

I think part of the reason I don't do that Madanach quest anymore is that I was a little disgruntled to find that the other Forsworn in the Reach are still hostile. I naively assumed they would all be friendly, after word had gotten around that I'd saved Madanach. But nooo.
