It would be nice to meet the Redguard in their homeland ("curved swords"), and help them against the Thalmor. I'm sure some of them can provide more information on their struggle against the Thalmor, and their views on the Empire abandoning them to the Dominion.

I wonder if there will be some kind of tie-in with whether or not you turned Saadia in? Probably not, I suppose, but it's always piqued my curiosity.

Ooh, and maybe our favorite Redguard DB brother would have some extra dialogue about it. I always wished we could have more conversation with him. He just seems so interesting.

I wonder how they will make it work though... I mean, this is Hammerfell, an entire province! It's not like they can make an entire country for an DLC. Unless they somehow find a way to restric the territory you can explore. Perhaps the beach area? Since the Thalmor would obviously invade from there.

I think the copyright was for the game Redguard, not a Skyrim DLC, but if they did it then I imagine they would use one of the border cities like Dragonstar, which were contested back and forth between the Nords and redguard. And who knows, the name Dragonstar might have some tie-in.

What's up with the messed up Aldmeri Dominion timeline? Did they ever explain why it's in the game over 200 years before it's start? Retcon? I haven't been following the Elder Scrolls Online so really have no idea why...

From what i understand the Dominion in the Elder Scrolls Online is THE original Aldmeri dominion from which the Thalmor in Skyrim took thier name.

So we havethe original dominion, then 1000 years later the thalmor decide to adopt thier name for thier new little empire.

They are 2 different Aldmeri Dominions. If I remember correctly the one from ESO was the "original" Aldmeri Dominion which was defeated by Tiber Septim, after that Tamriel was united by the Empire, basically everyone was part of it until the Oblivion crisis when the Septim line was extinguished. During that crisis the Thalmor regained power due to their role in protecting the Summerset Isle from the Daedra which in turn led to the creation of the 2nd Aldmeri Dominion that you see in Skyrim.

UESP doesn't update the timeline until the game is released but according to their timeline the earliest they have the Aldmeri dominion is right around 2E 800-ish. The game takes place in 2E 583. Using the updated wiki timeline you can see where they retconned the lore regarding the Dominion, so nevermind.

I was thinking about getting a BSN guild together for TESO.  It'll be fun playing with some of you guys from this thread.

That would be interesting. It's been a few years since I played an online game. What ideas do you have for a BSN group for TESO?

dunno yet but make sure to post in the BSN TESO thread when it resurfaces

I don't know that much about it, I don't think I'm even going to get ESO since I really don't find MMOs all that entertaining. I just said what I knew about the Dominion, don't know when they came, I just know they were around that time.

I read all the books everyone listed; and they were all great. Skyrim is one hell of a game!

I especially liked the wolf queen. Nice long series.

Just read Barenziah and the REAL barenziah...man, great reads...but...what happened? The story just ends at part 5.

I'm a bit skeptical on the ESO project, but have some hope and signed up for the beta-test.

One of the buggiest companies making the buggiest type of game.  Beta testing is a necessity.

I'd rather revisit a piece of Cyrodil for DLC and save Hammerfell for another full game.

^ Me too. Any time there's mention of Cyrodil in Skyrim, it makes me wax nostalgic for Cheydinhal, Bravil, Anvil, etc. Hell, even Kvatch. I would love to see those places Skyrimized.

And all the Ayelid Ruins...loved those.

I'd prefer Black Marsh, Elseweyr or the Summerset Isle and I doubt any of those will get DLC.

'Skyrimised' Aylied ruins would be incredibly awesome. So would a rebuilt Kvatch with a fully functional arena.

I think either Hammerfell or Cyrodill would work for an war DLC. But I wonder how things would roll out if you are an stormcloak supporter in Cyrodill. Most awkward I'm sure. Summerset Isle would be the perfect place for an sequel though, perhaps with the human forces making an all out push against the Aldmeri dominion while you are an prisioner caught in the crossfire?

Yeh, I can see Summerset Isles being a sequel location. I can imagine it now - "The Elder Scrolls VI: Dominion" or something like that. I don't think 'Summerset Isles' has the same ring as 'Skyrim' or 'Morrowind'.

On another note, I've made a poll that is specific to the Imperials and the Stormcloaks War. Have your say.

I'd like to see the next game take place in a new Homeland to another race.

The Elder Scrolls VI's title, would not likely be "Summerset Isle"
But if the game were about the Thalmor, it could be "The Elder Scrolls VI: Alinor"
For that is Summerset Isle's new name... or so I had read in the game.

You make a good point, it could be called Alinor. However, Alinor could also cause some confusion because Alinor is both a city that appears in Arena and TESO and an Aldmeri King. Plus, only the Thalmor refer to it as Alinor - the Empire and most other people still call it the Summerset Isles.

I think some people still call it Summerset Isle the same way some Colovians used to call the Altmer the "Old Mary" Dominion.

Bethesda would have to rework the name. "Oblivion" is a huge example of that. 'Skyrim' is a great name, because it doesn't stick out in an uninteresting way.

WHAT THE HELL!

I just ran into a bump or something...then my PC and Arvak went flying....all the way from Whiterun to halfway to Rorikstead.

I do believe I can fly now....
