I play Skyrim like I live my life: I have minions to do the dirty work (thank you, twin Dremora Lords)! Image IPB

My favorite character rocks two Storm Thralls or Frost Thralls, depending on how I feel that day.  Then she just wanders along beside them, throwing Calm and Frenzy as appropriate to control the enemies, or joining in on higher level mobs with a quick Dragonskin/Fire Storm combo.  She only has 120 health and stamina, everything else is in magic, so spends most of her time looting while the thralls or companion take care of the situation.

^ Now that's what I'm talking about. It's like Addai says, you can let them do all the work, while you sit back, filing your nails. Image IPB

We should come up with a name for that play style, if there isn't one already.

I love using the Summon Daedra spells.

My two Dremora ran about while my mage loots.
"RARGH A CHALLENGER IS NEAR!"

Nice to have friends in Skyrim.
Friends I can punt off cliffs without any guilt

I love me some Dremora Lords. It's hilarious when an enemy is able to evade the DL's line of sight, and they say, "Hiding will not save you!"

I am guilty of doing this shortly after we met, she wouldn't carry my loot so I shouted her off a mountain.

^ I totally don't blame you. One time, I told her to wait while we were out in the Courtyard of High Hrothgar, and the idiot walked right in front of Master Borri, who shouted her off the mountain. Priceless.

She finally started driving me crazy, with getting right in my face, pushing me off cliffs, etc., and I ditched her for good. I'm much more impressed with Frea (Dragonborn), personally.

*sends Bethesda a letter asking for the capability to name your own follower in the next Elder Scrolls title with the specific intent of causing happy_daiz to name that follower after me*

Prince, you're hired. Image IPB

Hey, total sidenote, but whatever happened to Flesh Atronachs? Were those only in Shivering Isles?

That would make a good movie actually.
"Let me guess someone stole your Sweet Troll?"

The epic movie of a boy searching for the vile bakers who stole his sweet troll.
A movie so sweet your teeth will rot.

This is the kind of troll I'd expect to find in the Shivering Isles.

^ Exactly. Uncle Sheo gave us something you could really sink your teeth into. Just blast that bad boy with fire to unleash the goodness within. He really, really does love us.

We are really in a weird place today, aren't we? Image IPB

Weird is fun though.

"Lick of Sweet Troll"....that would actually be a fun banner to have.
Or a name for a Argonian

"Licker of Trolls"

That's what Uncle Sheo's Asylums do to you. The "blessing of Lord Sheogorath". ^_^

I love my dremora posse.  I even feel a wee bit of guilt that they seem to be in pain when they dissolve back into Oblivion.  At least they're delighted about the fighting part.  NO ONE ESCAPES

It's too bad you can't talk to them, like the dremora who trash talks you in Mannimarco's paradise in Oblivion and says he's honoring you by agreeing to kill you.  I'm tempted by the mod that lets you summon Golden Saints, but it doesn't mention that they're voiced and that would be a crying shame.  Didn't you men just love being insulted by badass demon biker babes?

I thought, way back when, that the sound they made when dissolving back into Oblivion was someone getting disarmed. I assumed it was a follower, or maybe that the Dremora Lord automatically equipped one of my inventory weapons. I kept looking for whatever was dropped, and never found it (go figure).

I was such a nincompoop. Image IPB

^ That's awesome. Image IPB

It took me until probably my 12th playthrough before I finally tried out the bucket on the head trick. *sigh* It works pretty well, though, when you need to take out a vampire masquerading as a citizen.

I just snipe them with Auriel's Bow from long range.

That is my only use for Sun Hallowed Arrows really.
Dropping boss Vampires.

Like a boss.

That's the more effective way to take them out, certainly. Image IPB

I just thought I'd try it out, since I'd heard about it, but never did it. Same with finally allowing myself to go to jail - that took until I was over 1200 hours invested over all playthroughs to finally do it, and bust out for the achievement.

I've found that if I'm sneaking, I can take a shot with my crossbow (if I don't have Auriel's Bow yet), sheathe to get the vampire to back down, then draw it again and shoot, with nobody the wiser. One time, I didn't realize I had exploding bolts equipped, and I made a hell of a mess in the jarl's longhouse. Random stuff flew everywhere. Heh.

Anyone notice that most of the missions about saving a Jarl go to Dawnstar or Riften?

Of all people Maven should recognize someone trying to trick her.

Anybody care to share favorite play styles? I prefer stealth, nothing like taking out a cave full of vampires without them seeing you. Then killing the master vampire while he sleeps, ha!

All kidding aside, I always use a bow, regardless of class. I'm a sniper girl at heart, so that's alway part of my repertoire. But otherwise, I have at least one character per play style. In some cases, more. I just recently got into dual wielding - now that's fun!

The one I rarely ever use is sword and board. I just can't seem to remember to block, so it's pointless for me. Hehe.

Yeah bows are awesome! Picking off the fringe guys, then sneaking in to take out the big guys, removing torches along the way and listening to bandits freak out. I always try to make other characters but they always end up being stealthy ninja-archers...

I always like to get myself thrown in jail to see how quickly I could break out, and then sneak home or out of town, making sure nobody sees me.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? And you're right, I'd say a majority of those quests happened in Dawnstar or Riften for me, too. I believe I had one in Windhelm, and one in Solitude, and none in the other holds.

@Darth - it's hard to bust out of a preferred play style, isn't it? I really had to force myself to focus and try dual wielding. At first, I actually didn't realize you had to hold down RT + LT (I'm on XBox) for it to kick in, and kept hitting one then the other, until I figured it out. Derp.

^ Oh, Giggles, that's another one of my facepalm moments. Image IPB

Anyway, pretty much all of my characters are stealthy archers with a heavy focus in Conjuration. Some have what I'd call a 'secondary' skill of 1-handed, 2-handed, or dual wielding, but they're always just used as a back-up.
