Call of Duty is officially interfering with my gaming, now.

Game Stop said they will not be having a midnight release for Skyrim because Modern Warfare 3 is coming out just days earlier and there will not be two midnight releases in such a short time.

Interfering with my gaming, now. Screw you, CoD!!!! Screw you!!!!!!!!!

Well to be fair CoD is garanteed sales no matter how bad the game is. Skyrim could get bad reviews that have an effect on sales. CoD doesn't really have that problem.

Plus if I was working late at night I'd rather be dealing with people who are mindlessly buying a game because they don't know any better than people who are possibly excited about making a character and f*cking a big velociraptor woman when they get home.

Skyrim is right now losing popularity due to bashing like "THIS IS NOT AN RPG ITS A MINDLESS HACK AND SLASH". Modern Warfare 3, on the other hand, is getting bashing like "The same sh**, different disc" yet that hardly puts a dent in the diehard fanbase.

Also,
MW3: Shoot stuff.
Skyrim: Get your spear polished.
I've made my decision.

Anathemic- Out of curiousity what is Steamworks and whats it got to do with our being able to play the game?

Sympathy4saren- Will have to admit that I never did care for first person shooters.

Deadmandum thanks for the info on the leveling up aspect. Now I'll have to admit that there are allot of quest in this game as well as hundreds of areas to check out and explore.

Steamworks is basically a Steam's phyisical retail copies. If you purchase a Steamworks game you will be required to install Steam and registed the game on there to play it.

Anathemic- Is all copies of Skyrim going to be like that there even ones for which you don't buy off Steam? If that is the case than I don't know if I want to get Skyrim. I don't like the fact of someone telling how I'm to play something when I've paid 60 bucks for the game.

Naughty you know I've been think and what Kenken said in regards to the leveling up I would have to agree with him to be honest with you there, After all if you take into account how big the game is and all the area's for which there are to explore with the number of quest it only makes sense. After all why be level 30 or 40 for example and only be 1/4 of the way through the game.

The articles stated that Skyrim will be using Steamworks, it doesn't rule out the possibility of Skyrim just having plain physical retail non-Steamwork copies though, we'll have to see.

It's good to see that Dunmer look Morrowind-y again.

Will Dunmer still have their fire resistance, though? I imagine this would be quite the advantage against dragons. Not to mention, Nords are supposed to have frost resistance and there are frost dragons around...

Anathemic-well if all copies will be using steamworks than I for one will back off buying the game. After all Oblivion is plenty big enough to keep me busy for a long while and I've got others like morrowind as well. I wouldn't have pre-ordered skyrim if I knew that Oblivion was so huge. Thought that it was like allof of the others for which within a couple of weeks you could be through it all and do everything. Boy was I sure wrong with this one.<G>

The problem is your local Gamestop, not Call of Duty. I say this because my local Gamestop will be having a midnight launch for MW3 and Skyrim. If you have any Gamestops nearby, I would suggest calling them and asking.

I couldn't agree with you more on this here I just talked to Abel who the manager of the local Gamestop that I go to and I asked him about a midnight release for Skyrim and he said yes there will be a midnight release. And they will be having a midnight release for MW3 as well.

Yummy!

I got more info! Smithing is pretty epic now, with you being able to combine your forge work and tanning work. If you kill a wolf you can take its pelt and tan it. You can also take your pick axe, get iron and refine it. With both of these items, you can create an iron weapon with a leather handle!

And here I thought that they were talking about Oblivin you could dual weapon. Now will you be able to attck with the off hand weapon as well or Just block?

Deadman the enemy equipment is what?

KenKen oh great just when I'm finally getting use to the way for which Oblivion works I'm going to have to learn everything all over again with Skyrim.

Heck I was over at my buddies house yestarday and he was playing Oblivion as well. Was looking over his world map and I'll have to admit that there has to be a couple of hundred map markers on his map.And he said that they are all explorable areas allot of them with quest attatched to them. I couldn't believe it when he told me that there. Any of you been fully through the game and all areas? And if you have how long did it take you? From what I've seen of his map I'm barely scratching the surface of things.

You are barely scratching the surface. Hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Nearly four hundred for me my Canon playthrough (including The Shivering Isles expansion).

I'm really hoping they have something like a German Shepard. I really, really, do not like fuzzy dogs like that at all. Or floppy ears. If they don't by god I will attempt to make a bear as my animal Companion, or ride a Moose like T.R.
