Looking excellent, especially with the news today that it'll use Steamworks as opposed to the god awful GFWL.

With New Vegas using Steamworks, as well as Rage (Bethesda published), it seems Bethesda is using that instead of GFWL which they used on Fallout 3. Obviously no DRM would be best but IMO, Steamworks is the best if they're going to use something of that sort.

I'm really hoping they have something like a German Shepard. I really, really, do not like fuzzy dogs like that at all. Or floppy ears. If they don't by god I will attempt to make a bear as my animal Companion, or ride a Moose like T.R.
I want a Dire Wolf.

GFWL has always been way too cumbersome for my tastes.

And here I thought that they were talking about Oblivin you could dual weapon. Now will you be able to attck with the off hand weapon as well or Just block?
Deadman the enemy equipment is what?
KenKen oh great just when I'm finally getting use to the way for which Oblivion works I'm going to have to learn everything all over again with Skyrim.
Heck I was over at my buddies house yestarday and he was playing Oblivion as well. Was looking over his world map and I'll have to admit that there has to be a couple of hundred map markers on his map.And he said that they are all explorable areas allot of them with quest attatched to them. I couldn't believe it when he told me that there. Any of you been fully through the game and all areas? And if you have how long did it take you? From what I've seen of his map I'm barely scratching the surface of things.
You are barely scratching the surface. Hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay.
Nearly four hundred for me my Canon playthrough (including The Shivering Isles expansion).
sympathy4-Saren- Now out of curiosity how'd you come up with the amount of hours for which it took you to get through the game? And did you cover everything on your playthrough including all the joinable guilds and do thier quests as well? What level were you when you completed it?

Since I started playing Oblivion a few years ago, I'm up to around 700-800 hours over the course of a few playthroughs without ever finishing the main quest, the fighter's guild quests, the Knights of the Nine, Shivering Isles, the Thieves' Guild quest and a lot of side quests.
My current playthrough is going very slowly, a couple hundred hours in, started in December 2010, at this point I'm barely level 8, haven't even visited Weynon Priory or Kvatch yet, but this is partly because I have FCOM, Duke Patricks and Deadly Reflex installed - these mods make combat a lot more challenging, so I die frequently. You can one-shot enemies with your bow using Duke Patricks, for example, but they can also one-shot you, so you have to approach enemy archers very carefully, using trees and rocks as cover. Even the smallest dungeons take me a few hours because I die frequently. Also I'm using survival mods that require eating, drinking, sleeping, etc., and some mods that add new factions and new quests.

Naughty I think that I'll work through the main game and the two DLC's for which came with it Night of Nines and Shivering Isles before I think about any mods for which are out there. I noticed that there are allot of mods for the game that people have done up.
I think that's probably a good approach. However, your playthrough will probably last a long time, so you might eventually get the urge to try mods to improve the visuals and some other things, perhaps.
Here is a view inside the Chapel in Bravil after installing some graphics mods:

I did find a cool scroll called Chamelion or some such like that. It allows you to blend in with whatever your near. Now if there was armor with that effect on it I'd be able to sneak in and rob any where.<LOL> BTW I was thinking of that mod you were telling me about. The one hit one. Sounds to me like you would have to micro manage the game to much for that one. I wouldn't have the patience to do that there.
