That's one thing I've never been able to do and probably never will: Take a character to Level 81.

You have to get every skill to 100. My God. That hurts to even think about. Some skills are just a royal pain to advance once you get them up into the 80s, let alone that mind-numbing stretch between 90-100 where trainers can't help you, and then to do it with every single skill?. That's a hell of a lot of potion making, destruction spamming and mass healing.

True, but that can solved with mods and/or console commands. After a good portion of my initial run, I use commands to help remove tedium. And there is an Uncapper mod which sounds like one may still gain lvls in max'd Skills; possibly using Archery at 100, and still getting increases. Or perhaps a mod that does the Levelling for you.

Hope these can help.

I only did it because I got to level 70 and heard about the Ebony Warrior.
I wanted to try it.

My Khajiit is like...level 55, and my Orc is like 40.

P.S. Question - Does anyone know which mods are (or are not) already compatible? Thanks!

A bit early but someone on BGS forum ran it through TES5Edit and that did come up with a few dirty edits that should be cleaned eventually, and one navmesh that couldn't be fixed.  We'll just have to wait to see if it's going to cause a problem.  The TES5Edit creator is already testing so I don't even plan to try to clean it in case he releases an update.

I'm not worried.  With Steam Workshop, Beth has a better idea of what people are doing to the game and while conflicts are inevitable, it'll all work out in the end.

Can't believe I'm stuck at work.

I'm about 1 hour in and the only odd thing I noticed is that some of the male marauders have the female walk animation. It may be mod related tho.

Other than that, I'm having a blast!

Silly BSoD reboot activated the DLC, so I guess I will deal with it as it appears. Hopefully the mods I use will play nice.

Just to inform people about what is incompatible, apparently the Unofficial Skyrim Patch causes problems. It is sad that it breaks the final battle or whatever and that people are also unable to adsorb dragon souls, something which happened in my game.

Good to know, I don't plan on finishing the MQ any time soon though.  By then there should be the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch,

Kind of want to get Dragonborn, but in the past month or 2 after getting Dawnguard I think I'm temporarily burned out on Skyrim. Probably give it a month or so and get Dragonborn on sale.

Yeah if you have Unofficial Skyrim Patch best to wait until they get the fix done before pursuing the main quest on Solstheim. It sounds like they already identified the conflict and may even have it fixed by now- a file in USKP was preventing people from absorbing dragon souls.

I had one CTD, entering Apocrypha. That's the only problem I've encountered so far.

Damn that was quick. However I think some people in the Bethesda forums should stop giving flak to these guys, ever since that bug the authors have been threatened and scorned because of this.

And I see you met Frea. You guys should try her out as a follower; she has a much more intelligent AI than Serana.

Speaking of Serana, I took her along with me last night, as I started a new Dragonborn run with my 2nd Redguard, Minya. Anyway, we were in Red Rock Mine, in the Barrow portion, and the stupid "your hunger recedes as you feed" vampirism message kept popping up.

Yeah, this character is actually IN the Dawnguard, is not a vampire, and is in fact, a werewolf. Harkon is dead. Everyone in the castle is dead. Arrgh. I can't tell you how many times that kept hitting me, so I'd get past an area, save, then would get hit with it again in the next area. I used to think it was from Draugr shouts, but now I think it must be Serana. Now I remember why I hate bringing her along.

In my two other Dragonborn runs, that never happened. I had other followers with me, so that seems to be the difference.

OMG! Total sidenote, but quite some time back, with this character, I had two followers disappear (Belrand and Jenassa). In one case, a quest follower replaced Belrand, and he said he was going home. He was never seen or heard from again. Ever. Pretty much the same thing happened with Jenassa.

I fast traveled back into Skyrim from Solstheim, because I wanted to finish up a couple of quests, (and I was wearing around the Aetherial Crown with no standing stones active, derp), so I thought I'd take care of some business. I got distracted, yada yada yada.

Well, after who knows how much in-game time has passed (quite a while), who do I run into while I'm picking up lumber for one of my houses? Jenassa! I immediately gave Serana das boot, and went on my merry way. The lost is now found. Halleluia!

^ Your daughter is Runa Fair-Shield, right? She's my fave Skyrim pixel kid, tbh.

In this run, she's an only child, with a fox and a stray dog. Farkas is her papa, Uncle Vilkas is Steward, she has the worst bard in Skyrim (Sonir), and a serious arse-kicker named Valdimar as housecarl/protector. Life is pretty good for that little girl. Now if Jarl Siddgeir would just let us build a house in Falkreath, we'd be set.

Or I could go get the one in Raven Rock, I suppose.

That's just ridiculous.  People, you're getting bug fixes from people who are working FOR FREE, and they're hating?  I'm a complete n00b and even I can see that Bethesda futzes with the code every time they release a patch or DLC.  Are modders supposed to be mind readers?  /rant

I wasn't sure you could take followers to Solstheim, but loaded up Ulfric on the boat anyway.  We get there and Aranea had bummed a ride, too.  I had had her parked at my house as company for Ghorbash.  So that's my posse right now.  It's holy chaos when we get into a big battle.  Ulfric thu'uming, Aranea summoning frost atronachs.  Good times.  I think my dragon queen would probably appoint Aranea her ambassador to Solstheim.  Aranea ought to like it over there, since the Dunmer are back to full-on daedra worship these days.
