I did indeed meet Dusty.     Do the netch and silt strider calls sound like whale song to anyone else?

Yep they sure do.

I have 2 Dunmers that I'm going to have train under Neloth.  They have a few new conjuration and alteration spells available.
Neloth is easily my favorite mage in the game, his dialogue is priceless and he literally spits on the Archmage of Winterhold.

Yeah Neloth is pretty awesome, I trained/enchanted random items from 50 to get to 100. Although I wish being part of house Telvanni meant more in Solstheim.

After reading this page, I think I may be the only Skyrim player who has not soul trapped a corpse to raise conjuration or used Shadowmere for target practice :wizard:

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with Dragonborn.

I've never done those things.  Shoot at Shadowmere?!  The very thought.  Conjuration is very easy to level.  Destruction, OTOH... my battlemage who uses destruction constantly just hit 99 Destruction, at level 57.

Am I crazy or did Dragonborn add some changes to Skyrim as well?  I'm finding draugr with different looks, and someone dropped a mace of Aevar Stone-Singer (Skaal hero).  I can never tell if these things are mods or DLC changes.

Yep, you'll find lots of Hulking Draugr in Skyrim dungeons, as well as Nordic (and probably Stahlrim) weapons and armor. I don't know about a named mace, but hey, if you found it, I'm sure it's probably from Dragonborn.

I'm with you - shoot at Shadowmere?! Image IPB I'm sorry, but if you have to do that, I don't think you deserve the awesomeness that IS Shadowmere. Sacrilege!

Conjuration is easy with bound weapons. I can't imagine spamming a dead body for any amount of time to munchkin that skill. Just keep getting higher-level spells, and casting them, and you'll be there before you know it. In just a couple of days of normal gameplay, I took my Conjuration from low 50s to 80. And honestly, I wasn't trying that hard. I think summoning my Dremora buddy has probably made the difference.

Speaking of which, I've been using Frea as a follower, and something she said made me think of Dremora dialogue - it was something to the effect of, "it could end no other way". Love her.

Although Frea doesn't have much extra dialogue herself, outside of main quests. I took her to do the Raven Rock mine quest, and the only thing she said outside of combat-speak was, "you should stay away from those Black Books", before I went into Apocrypha. *sigh*

I had the most fun leveling conjuration on my necromancer by buying up all empty soul gems then casting soul trap on all live enemies. Then I kill them, harvest their souls then reanimate their corpses. Whenever my new undead initiated combat, my skill also went up a bit. I was kinda sad when I hit 100 conjuration.

Did you ask him for enchanting training between 90-100?  Best answer ever.

Yeah his reasons for not training you then is something along the lines of not wanting to get better than him.. lol

Teldryn Sero is supposed to be a good follower. I'm wary of hiring anyone because I use Ultimate Follower Overhaul and the mod creator says he/she won't be getting Dragonborn anytime soon and thus won't be updating it. So I think it could create problems, though it does seem I could hire Neloth's dorky apprentice. I don't get any "follow me" options for Frea, though.

The down side of mods, especially the bigger ones. But UFO is hard not to use once you get used to its functionalities.

Neloth is hilarious, though every other sentence I'm reminded of Bodahn and it kind of takes me out of the moment.  lol

heh! I have never aimed at Shadowmere purposely, but have hit him by accident a few times. This results in a reeload with his bright red eyes glaring at me....

There's only a certain window of time during the main quest where you can recruit Frea. After that, I think you have to wait until the mq is done.

I was able to get her right after going to Miraak's temple, which is pretty much the first main quest once you get to Solstheim.

Wait...Teldryn Sero is a spellsword? Well, that changes everything. I assumed he was just a standard fare 1-handed warrior. Although in looking at his spells list, hmm. I wabbajacked J'Zargo, and he's working out just fine, when I'm not using Frea. I do miss Jenassa and Belrand's banter, though.

And I finally had the crazy lady run up to me in Skyrim and ask to be Wabbajacked. That was another first for me this weekend. Too bad I wasn't actually carrying it; her wish would have been granted.

Have encountered a strange glitch in my games. When first entering Markarth and now Windhelm, the NPC's are not in place for the opening scenes. I managed to reload Markarth enough times to get it working, but now the same thing has occured in Windhelm, and I fear something is amiss.

Has anyone seen this before? Know of a proper fix? Am afraid to continue onward, as it might break the game. Thanks!

UFO's bug with new DLC followers is that you'll never be able to dismiss them, even using the console.  I hired Sero just to snag his chitin armor.  He refused to be dismissed.

Frea is very powerful, but also a block of wood. I'd rather use Mjoll the Lioness tbh.

Neloth's apprentice went away when I told him to.

Good, save before recruiting Sero and see what happens.  I had to reload since he wouldn't leave me.  Turns out I can just buy chitin from the smithy.

A lot of people use UFO it seems. I use Amazing Follower Tweaks, does UFO have any advantages over it?

Sero wouldn't come with me, said I had to fire Jenassa first.  It seems very hit or miss.  Oh, and when I tried firing Jenassa, and setplayerfollowercount to 0, I could hire him but then didn't have dialogue to re-hire Jenassa.  So I'm holding off for now.

There is a mod out for the manor that I can recommend.  It spruces it up very nicely, with more lighting, some storage near the crafting areas, and the Dunmer style lamps and rugs.  I tested it on my Stormcloak and the stuff she already had in the manor was still there after adding the mod.

@ Splinter Cell:  It looks better, actually, assuming it all works well.  I think more people are just familiar with UFO.

So, do we have any bets on how soon before the DLC starts slam ****ing PS3 gamers? I'm gonna guess about a week and a half, not till the second one comes out at least.

^ What does that mean?

And does anyone know what time during the day new DLC hits the Playstation Store? I checked at midnight and I checked now this morning EST and still no Dragonborn. I'm hoping it's up when I get out of class early in the afternoon.

Yeah, I'm finding that to be the case, myself. She's a total tank, but doesn't say much of anything. I took her back to Skyrim, and we spent about 4 hours traipsing around the countryside. Aside from battle comments, she didn't say squat.

Mjoll is kind of the way opposite end of the spectrum for me. I like her, and this character I'm playing is actually married to her, but good lord, chatty Kathy.

My favorites for dialogue are still Belrand and Jenassa, hands down. Or Ghorbash/Borgakh, if I'm feeling like some Orc backup. Admittedly, I haven't tried all of the followers out. I kinda just stick to the same posse from game to game.

You should be all set by then.  They would have announced any major delays by now.

Yeah!

Redoing all my mods.
With Nexus Mod Manager, WYRE, BOSS, and my own experience helping.

Got SKSE back up and Skyui.
This weekend I shall game back to my place of POWER.

I can now play on medium graphics at least.

Now to find mods that I enjoyed...I really should have made a list.

I sure missed a lot of stuff in my first Dragonborn run. I've already discovered a handful of sidequests and locations that I didn't get to experience before, for whatever reason.

There's two ways I can look at it:

- I'm not as thorough as I thought, or:
- I just scored some new content! Yippie!

It's still not up! Just read Sony updates the PSN at their leisure late in the afternoon or early in the evening. Boo.

I want a woodlands survival game based around the Skaal. My own hut would be nice too. My favorite character has dropped out of the world for now and is living the life of a simple hunter among them. I expect she'll retire there once Skyrim is done for good.

My second favorite character also like the place. Nice and quiet once most of the bodies were burned.
