I don't think it does look mangy. Thats just how those big wolf hounds look and I wouldn't expect it to be particularly clean. Is it confirmed that that dog is actually recruitable? It looks like the exact same dog thats appeared in previous screenshots with other NPC's.

I couldn't agree with you more. Of course not sure of whether or not it's recruitable I've not heard about that there.

Curious in oblivon is cam we re-charge our own weapons? If so what needs to be done so that I can recharge my own?

You need some filled soul gems to recharge your weapons yourself. If you have an empty soul gem and a soul trap spell then enchant the enemy with soul trap and kill them while they are still under the spell, you will automatically collect their soul in the soul gem and can then use it to recharge your weapon.

Bigger the gem you have then the bigger the soul you can trap. Bigger the soul you trap then the more charges it replenishes.

Not sure if I explained this particularly clearly, I might have made it sound slightly more complicated than it actually is.

Ugh.....I hate enchanted weapons in Oblivion. A few (4 or 5) whacks will eat up your charge. I believe Skyrim will be similar so looking forward to any mods that will simply make enchants permanent.

Well now I like the idea of making the enchantments permanent. Is there a modd that allows for this for oblivion?

Well now working through Oblivion I've so far been working on the Mage Recomendation quest for the mage guild some what using the Pima quide book. So far I've got the Anvil, Bravil, Leyawiin, and starting on the Bruma, this includes the misc. quest as well. Now while I was in the Mages guild in Anvil Felon Felas that teaches alchemy mentions in rumors something about Kud-ei in Burma leading the guild there. And Kud-Ei is actually in Burma. Guess the editors didn't catch this little error.

It's called Bruma ^_^ but yeah, the Prima guide is wrong on many occasions. Having read it thoroughly, I know almost everything about the game :D

I'm sure there is, but if you get Azura's Star and Umbra, you can easily replenish all your magical item charges.

(Azura's Star is like a re-usable soul gem and Umbra is a powerful sword that has a soul trap effect.)

Grichou- Your right it is Bruma sorry about the typo, thats what happens when you to lazy to proof read. But it wasn't the guide that was wrong on it; it was the game itself that was wrong.

Naughty Oh sure I just walk into the nearset shop in town and order them.<LOL> Since both the Umbra and Azure star sound like artifacts to me and I'm currently only working on the mage reccomendation and the misc quests I doubt that I'd see them two items for a long time to come. But you've got my curiousity peaked on them point me in the right direction to them and I'm willing to make the attempt.<G> After all what don't kill you only makes you stronger right?

RAF1940- Thanks

I don't want to spoil the Umbra or Azura's Star quests, so all I will say is that they have something to do with Daedric Shrines.

Well now since I've yet to touch on the Daedric shrines it will problably be a while since I get to them. You see only on the misc quests and the mage reccomendation quests. Aren't eh Daedric Shrines part of the main quests?

I don't think so, but honestly, I've never done the main quest yet, so I'm not sure.

Slight Spoiler

You need a Daedric item to complete part of the main quest.

Naughty- Ok I found the Azura altar and was able to get the Azura star. Wasn't to bad really just had to kill 5 vampires in a cave.<G> Still don't have the Umbra sword though. Well if they aren't part of the main qauest than to get umbra's sword don't you have to be of a certain level? I'm barely level 10.  Do you have both the sword and the Star?

Erich that must be why I was able to do the quest and get the Star. Would you happen to know what level I need to be for the  Umbra sword? Don't want to know where it is but what level I need to be to obtain it.

You can't get the quest for Umbra until you reach level 20.

But it is possible for you to find Umbra at any level, before you get the quest.

Also, in the meantime, you can learn a Soul Trap spell and then you will be able to fill Azura's Star with many souls to recharge your items.

Finding Umbra and actually getting the sword are two very different matters though. I got my ass handed to me and only got the sword after some running away, screaming and blind luck.

Yes, during my current playthrough, I managed to get it at around level 6, but I died and reloaded probably more than 30 times.

(using FCOM and Duke Patricks at difficulty slider set to 75%)

It was the hardest battle I ever fought in Oblivion, but it was rewarding to finally succeed. I had to do a lot of kiting and summoning a scamp to distract the enemy.

Not going to go into any more details to avoid spoiling it for anyone.

Well whether it be with the sword or the spell how do you get the soul into the gem itself? I cast a soul trap and killed something but can't figure out how to get it into the Star gem. I try to equip it but it say it can't be equipped cause it's empty or some such like that there.

@Ken: Were you high level? She was an absolute beast when I faced her.

@Redneck: If they are still under the soul trap enchantment they automatically get trapped in a soul gem, you don't need to do anything else to trap them. What did you kill? Humans can't be trapped without a black soul gem I think.

New preview that I haven't seen posted yet:
