I actually want to be able to join the Thalmor, just for the option. I mean a player can do a lot of questionable things and nobody really calls them on it so it wouldn't be quite the stretch. Obviously Altmer would be the only ones with any true respect but I imagine a Dragonborn of any other race would still be pretty valuable. You could be a double agent.

Probably won't happen but it would still be fun to have.

I doubt it would happen because then the Thalmor would have to have a chance to win and that's not going to happen.  Their presumed plan is to destroy the world in order to escape mortality, so either a ) Nirn goes poof, or b ) they blow themselves up in a similar godhood gambit as the Dwemer.

I'm guessing whatever happens is too big to deal with in a DLC, so it will either be TES VI or it will play itself out in the interim time between games.

Yeah, I know. Still would be fun to have though, at least I think it would be.

@Splinter: I've read all the books I could find on them but none really talk about what Gods they worship, customs, etc..

So far it looks to be a potential mix like Dibella and maybe Hercine but it's hard to say.

Speaking of which, the puzzles in the Dwemer ruins in Solstheim were pretty awesome.

Honestly, the one thing that would make me squee like there's no tomorrow is if they added polearms. Come on Bethesda, this girl wants a Halberd! I'd even take a Naginata. Surely a sect of the Morag Tong used those. Right? *wink wink*

Not enough, need moar steampunk!!

Imagine like... 19th century Skyrim, yeah, now that'd be brilliant, Dwarven airplanes, magic cannons, enchanted Rifles, Rapiers and Scimitars too, and magic things, now that would be awesome.

QA;
"What's the purpose of inventing transport since all we have to do is master teleport spells?"

Remember, not everyone in Tamriel can cast magic. There are carts and ships in Skyrim to transport people and the slit striders in Morrowwind. Those poor sods need steam-powered vehicles.

You mean the Forsworn?  They defile Dibella statues.  Speculation I've seen is that one of them is Molag Bal, hence his abode being in Markarth.  But there are other gods that aren't in the imperial pantheon or daedric princes, lesser gods like Ebonheart and Sai.  So it could be one that we haven't heard of.

Theoretically everyone can.  It's not like in Dragon Age where only certain people are mages and others not.  It's a question of training.

I don't want steampunk Tamriel, in the conventional sense.  It can be WeirdTamriel, but not conventional steampunk.

Well maybe not worship Dibella but they do have a connection to it some how. They could view her in a different manner than what we're shown. We still don't know what they were planning to do with the Sibyl. Mind you this is all speculation on my part.

It's almost impossible to determine what deities the Foresworn venerate from just studying their camps and living quarters. You would Think from first glance that they'd be associated with Dibella (the Sybll quest), or Hercine (their kinship with Hagravens), but none of that makes any sense, really. I once saw a shrine of Julianos in the Room of a Foresworn Briar heart. But I doubt that means anything either.

I truly don't know what they worship though, I do know that some Reachmen who aren't Forsworn but live in Markarth say that they Forsworn worship Daedra. I believe Yngvar the Singer also mentions that. Their magic and their rituals are a little crazy to be anything but Daedra. Then again the Bosmer worship Y'ffre and they have their Wild Hunt thing.

Thanks. The more the merrier.

OMG. Did anyone else find the letter from Glover Mallory to Sapphire?! That letter was so unexpected and touching. I want to go back to Riften and give it to her. Maybe she'll have some peace.

On a sidenote, you can actually have a Steward AND a Housecarl, which adds one more to your total. A large number of standard followers can be Stewards (here is the list).

To make things even more crazy, I am going through my run where I'm married to Mjoll. (Which adds Aerin to the mix of NPCs in the house. Then by the time one of your kids adds a fox or whatever, and you bring home a stray (or even Dawnguard/Volkihar) dog as a pet, yeesh.

Sonir, the bard your Steward can hire in Winstad Manor (the house in Hjaalmarch/Morthal) is godawful. Posted Image

Most likely a rivalry or hatred of Dibella, I think.  If they worship daedra, they're not going to be fond of the aedra and vice versa.  I don't know that Molag Bal specifically has a rivalry with Dibella but if you think of the fact that she's a god of women and the sensual, and he's the daedric prince of r*pe....

There are Reachmen who say they think it's better off that the old ways are gone.  Then there's the chef in Markarth keep who's offended that people think he's a Forsworn because he's Breton.

@ Legion 2.5:  The best side quest in Dawnguard IMO is the Aetherius Wars quest line.

Remove the armor from Katria's corpse when her ghost is nearby.  Hilarious.

^ OMG, that's funny. I never thought of trying that, but her response must be priceless.

I kept toying with the idea of making Katria a thrall, but I was worried that all she'd do is moan. I may still try it.

How many kingdoms does High Rock have anyways? They don't seem to like each other much as it seems Anton dislikes the Reachmen and the fact that the Reachmen have a history of raiding towns from those other kingdoms. I wonder who has less unity, the Bretons or the Dunmer.

While I prefer the DG side of things, my fave sidequest is Vampiric: Deceiving the Herd. Having to kill a person of note and frame the DG requires a lot more thought and planning (and Quicksaves) than many other quests, esp if one is planning to escape.

Yeah, I just found that in the uesp wiki:

Notes

- Katria's corpse is unaffected by Dead Thrall.
- If you take the armor from Katria's body, her ghost will make a comment on how you should have left her with "just a little dignity".
- If she is "killed", she will respawn next to you after a few moments and scornfully ask if that made you feel any better, even if you weren't the one to kill her.

Makes me kinda sad.

Hearthfire was $5 dollars and next week for PS3 owners it will be 50% so $2.50 in the US. Not a bad deal for console owners who can't use mods.

I agree. It's a relatively small amount for Hearthfire. About the same price as a cup of coffee. I bought Dragonborn for a little less than $10 (if I recall correctly) on Sunday, and it'll be nice to play Dawnguard + Hearthfire + Dragonborn back to back (to back) once the last DLC is available.

Is there a reason why you're playing it in that order? I can't wait to get my hands on the new content. I wish the PS store would update already.

Well, happy_diaz already addressed that it was in the correct chronological order for when the story DLCs were released, and I'm planning on having my Volkihar mage first, so I'd like to have him finally become a Vampire Lord. It'll be nice to be a Stage 4 Vampire and not have a mob try to string you up.

I'm a little busy with fixing up my new apartment as it is, so I don't really feel a need to rush it. I'm aiming to get the safe for the Thieves Guild Hideout with my werewolf assassin/thief/warrior jack-of-all-but-being-a-mage-trades (after completing the necessary amount of thieving quests) prior to the release of Dawnguard.

happy_daiz wrote...

^ Well, that IS the original order that the DLC came out in... Posted Image

Story-wise, though, you could do them in any order. I usually do Hearthfire pretty early on, so I can store all my stuff in one place, instead of scratching my head every time I try to remember where I stashed items.

Pretty much. I did the same with New Vegas (when it came to the DLC), and I only deviated with Fallout 3 since it made a bit more sense for my Lone Wanderer to have an edge over the Enclave with advanced Power Armor and alien weaponry. And leading the Pitt into a new era doesn't seem like the kind of thing you simply leave in the hands of someone else, so I left that as my LR's final story.

Storage isn't really a problem for me. There are so many containers in the vanilla game that it's easy for me to keep tabs on where everything is by dividing up certain items, armors, and weapons in different houses (since I learned my lesson after keeping everything in Jauffre's chest in Oblivion, and the nightmare that ensued when the game loaded all of my items at once). I pretty much have my current houses storing as much stuff as I need, with room to spare in Windhelm.

^ Yeah, I have a very specific system now, that I've developed over time. Everything has its place. However, in some of my earlier runs, I was pretty haphazard, and have to kinda guess which houses I own, and what I put in each container. I didn't do myself any favors.

Speaking of storage, that Storage wing in Hearthfire is kinda over-the-top.

However, if you build that, the Bedroom wing, and the Armory wing, you get an enormous party deck outside that's all connected. I did that at Lakeview Manor, so my family and hirelings could enjoy the view of the lake. Aww.
