I few thoughts about the DLCs I played recently.

I've finally finished Dragonborn and Dawnguard and loved them both, but somehow I preferred the latter. I am not a fan of vampires in games, but this time it was better than I expected.

I had a strange bug in Dawnguard in the end fight. After Harkon regained his strength he was invulnerable and didn't attack anymore. No matter what I did. If I pushed him from that balcony he just walked back to that same spot. I found out that all I needed to do was quick save the game and do a reload. After the reload he died instantly. Very weird. Other than that, I liked it, because Serana was an interesting character. I wonder how she acts the next time I opt a different route in the game. I also like how she interacted with her environment. Small things, like sitting down while I was shopping or crafting something while I was not fighting, made me feel she was more alive. Erm... I mean, less undead.

I'm actually thinking about joining the Imperials this time around. I usually do Season Unending and stop, but I think I might go through with it. It's time to commit. The only time I did actually finish the Civil War questline, I sided with the Stormcloaks, so this will be new for me.

Doesn't feel that different from the Stormcloak victory though, I guess some of the reasons as to why I still trust the Empire more than Ulfric was because of how I felt about Tullius and the Emperor. I think that with them around there is hope for the Empire at least enough to survive until they beat the Thalmor. Sometimes I get pissed at the bad parts about the Empire, such as the fact that it seems like everything they do is always about Cyrodiil's benefit and not the Empire as a whole.

Then there's those stupid nobles that you find on the road, which represent everything that is wrong with the Empire, they come all the way to Skyrim only to gain more prestige and even then they call it the "far flung of the Empire". Then there's Maven, Siddgeir and Elisif who are useless and corrupt. The only good Imperial Jarl seems to be Baalgruf.

Oh. And another thing... Is it just me or are the number of dragons increased after the DLCs? They often come in pairs these days. I got about 18 souls now and nothing to spend them on.

From the Imperial-leaning Jarls (current or potential), I like Baalgruf, Brina, and Brunwulf. Brina in particular seems like a respected and experienced war veteran, and I especially like the respect given to her from Horik.

I actually forgot about Idgrod, she's great as well. The only bad apples of the Imperial-side of Jarls seem to be Siddgeir and Maven, although I like that Maven is this corrupt individual that even the Dragonborn can't get rid of.

Ghehe. Great clip.

Shadowmere can do really strange things, though. There is this quest where some kind of flying creatures attack the village near Winterhold. They leave traces floating in the air after they get killed. Shadowmere found out she could run on them to chase dragons. It took me a while before I understood how she floated in the air.

Possibly.  The Bethesda Blog mentions that Dawnguard will be released "tonight".

Actually, its up now! I just installed it a few minutes ago. It went up about about 20 minutes or so after I last posted. Go get it.

I noticed that as well lately.  Also Durnhevir is showing up in Tamriel without me calling him.  I guess he didn't like being summoned while still in the Soul Cairn.

Some questions about Dawnguard vampires

I hear there is a charm spell that makes it possible to feed from people without too much hazzle. When/how do I get this? I turned into Vampire by Dawnguard's plot-quest, never been one before. Should I already have this spell?

I checked some Wikis and they keep talking about vampire " stages" what stages? How do I see which stage I am?
It says my " powers receed" when I drink off people for some backwards reason. WHat does this mean? Less melee damage? Less damage in vampire lord form?  less spells? what?

Any Vampirism mods you've found cool/stable/fun?

Do you happen to know when/how do I get the ability/spell to feed from people who aren't sleeping?

Mostly paranoid due to my SkyUI and whatever UI mods. Wondering if I have access to all the vampire  abilities I should.

You know, sometimes I don't get that system. Stronger by not feeding? Shouldn't it go the other way around, well I know I use a mod to correct that, also I still have that thing were if you get to stage 4 whole towns will chase out. It turned out to be a real problem in Raven Rock, since it seems there are very few scumbags to feed on in that place. I guess there's that stupid Orc and some Reavers, the Ulens could work but they're dead.

Bah, the Blades are so pathetic I can't stomach giving them any followers. Delphine's got nothing better to do than order me around, so she can recruit on her bloody own.

Good news for UFO and Dragonborn- the mod creator says he/ she is studying the source files and hoping to have a fix soon. Fingers crossed since I want to hire Teldryn Sero.

So as a PS3 player I finally get Dawnguard and the first thing I do is not work to finish the quests but instead become a Vampire Lord and then build my manor near Morthal. I play such proactive characters.
