The demand to kill Paarthurnax is logical, the way Delphine puts her argument across is dumb though. He could very well turn at any time, and the meaning of his name, Ambition Overlord/Tyranny Cruelty, doesn't do much to dispel those fears. With the soul of a dragon it would be hypocritical for the Dragonborn to kill him, as he has the same nature to dominate, but unlike Paarthurnax the Dragonborn is mortal, death will stop him if he ever gets out of control.
I like the guy but it is my biggest fear that he would backside when the last Dragonborn dies, no one would be left to stop him. It's easy to follow a way of peace and tranquility whilst waiting for the Dragonborns to officially become extinct for a lack of a better word. In all honesty if he didn't improve the Fus and Yol shouts I would have killed him by now, it's only metagaming reasons keeping him alive.
Once TES VI gets released I'll kill him though.
Well he can be killed like any dragon, and Alduin won't be around to raise him. I doubt there would be any dov powerful enough to learn that raise-from-the-dead trick. The danger is not nearly as great as it once was when both Nord humans and dragons were culturally dominant and there were a lot of them who were thu'um masters. So even if Paarthurnax turns RAWR EVULZ, he won't be able to do more mischief than can happen on any given day in Tamriel.
And the whole "he's powerful so he'll become evil" thing is hypocritical. Your PC has the soul of a dovah. So if you're going to kill a dragon for being a dragon, you'd better have that suicide spell handy for when you've done that and absorbed all those dragon souls to boot.
