Any good quest mods going around?

Dark Brotherhood Resurrection

I'm not a big fan of that mod. The story is obviously not written by a professional and although the voice-acting is rather good, the voice-quality isn't.

I generally avoid quest mods, unless they are exceptionally well written and well done, with professional sounding voice-acting. Those are rare however, but they do exist. One of them is Moonpath to Elsweyr.

That's good to know.  I only recommended it because of the endorsments + VA.  I stay away from quest mods as well.

Hmm so I listened to Delphine "logic" for deciding to kill Paarthurnax.
"We cant risk him siding with Alduin!" she says at one point.

Uhm....at the Throat of the World Alduin actually tells Paarthurnax he can join him.
Paarthurnax tells him no and then blasts him in the face with Fire Breath.

Yeah nice logic there dummy.

Well, she didn't saw that scene so she wouldn't know, but still, I don't do what she says anyway. I just leave the blades to her and Esbern, and never help them recruit anybody, so I guess the group will die out eventually.

What did your Dragonborn do in 24hours?   Cleared 6 dungeons, killed a dragon, earned 2000 septims, saved riften from a bandit attack, took a long walk up a really nice hill. Great view!!

What did I do today?  Sat on my bum... err went to work,  ate some chocolate....  yeah  :P

Tonight my Dovahkin will venture into the Soul Cairn in search of an Elder Scroll. Julianos is a member of the Dawnguard and yet has become a newly risen Vampire Lord for safety's sake. How will he cope? How will the Dawnguard respond? Dun. Dun. Dun.

Me? I'll be eating subway and watching The Skyrim Vampire Diaries later tonight. Image IPB

Yeah I hated this this.  It was like talking to a pair of four year olds, they just would listen even if what you said and knew made total sense.

The logic hole was just annoying and made me really dislike the Blades in Skyrim.  I loved helping them in Oblvion.

I killed parathrarixjaiojsidjaksld was because he himself said it is inborn that dragons needs to rule.

And after I killed Alduin, he said he was sad.

So...yeah. Could not risk it.

The Dragonborn has that same inborn nature as well, in my opinion killing him would be hypocritical of my part. What is the difference between the Dragonborn and Paarthurnax? That one is human/beast/elf and he's a dragon? I think the Blades should move on and focus on the Thalmor instead of trying to take out dragons, they're not the problem.

I think there's a good chance that Paarthurnax could turn bad, even if it's with an "I'm doing this for your own good" motivation. The problem is that Delphine's demand can trigger at the stupidest times, like right after they've just been arguing with the Greybeards, Ulfric and Tullius about how stopping Alduin is the only thing that matters. It's poor quest design and unfortunately makes both Delphine and Esbern look like tools. Handing someone the idiot ball rarely works out well.

The demand to kill Paarthurnax is logical, the way Delphine puts her argument across is dumb though. He could very well turn at any time, and the meaning of his name, Ambition Overlord/Tyranny Cruelty, doesn't do much to dispel those fears. With the soul of a dragon it would be hypocritical for the Dragonborn to kill him, as he has the same nature to dominate, but unlike Paarthurnax the Dragonborn is mortal, death will stop him if he ever gets out of control.

I like the guy but it is my biggest fear that he would backside when the last Dragonborn dies, no one would be left to stop him. It's easy to follow a way of peace and tranquility whilst waiting for the Dragonborns to officially become extinct for a lack of a better word. In all honesty if he didn't improve the Fus and Yol shouts I would have killed him by now, it's only metagaming reasons keeping him alive.

Once TES VI gets released I'll kill him though.

^ If that was true, Paarthunax could have come down any time to dominate humanity once Alduin was gone. There were no dragonborns at that time, and yet he decided to take the path of peace.

Then again he knew Alduin would be coming back, I don't think there was much he could have done and most of his kind were being eradicated by the Blades back then, I don't know that it would have been such a good idea to make his move. Now the blades are all but gone while the Dragons have come back, it'd be the perfect time to take over. I trust him though, if he breaks that trust, someone whether its the dragonborn or not will come to kill him. He is not Alduin and there won't be anyone to bring him back anyways should he decide to do that.

I killed him on my dual wielding nord and felt bad afterward, so I dont plan on killing him on my wood elf. I believe he wouldn't do anything like Alduin did atleast.

I seriously doubt someone who spent THOUSANDS of years not doing anything wrong will suddenly go and become a bad guy.

Reading one of the stones on the way up the mountain even says that Paarthurnax felt PITY for humans and sided with them over Alduin.

Besides the Blades only use you as a servant.
Dragonborn prove yourself to me!
Dragonborn break into the embassy for me!
Dragonborn find my old friend for me!
Dragonborn assault a Forsworn camp with us!
Dragonborn use your blood to open up a base for us!
Dragonborn recruit new members for us!
Dragonbor kill that dragon for us because I said so!

Just got to be to annoying,

Well he can be killed like any dragon, and Alduin won't be around to raise him.  I doubt there would be any dov powerful enough to learn that raise-from-the-dead trick.  The danger is not nearly as great as it once was when both Nord humans and dragons were culturally dominant and there were a lot of them who were thu'um masters.  So even if Paarthurnax turns RAWR EVULZ, he won't be able to do more mischief than can happen on any given day in Tamriel.

And the whole "he's powerful so he'll become evil" thing is hypocritical.  Your PC has the soul of a dovah.  So if you're going to kill a dragon for being a dragon, you'd better have that suicide spell handy for when you've done that and absorbed all those dragon souls to boot.

I really wish we had the option to throw back the argument at Delphine when she even admits that he essentially saved humanity instead she's like 'ok yeah, he helped free humanity to overthrow Alduin and gifted us with the knowledge of the Th'uum but he's a dragon so clearly he's evil'. It's like, obviously if not for Paarthurnax humans would have never gotten as far as they did. He could have stayed under Alduin and kept his mouth shut, then where would the world be.

Why oh why could we not troll Sky Haven Temple while riding on the back of Odahviing? If the blades ever go after him or Paarthurnax my DB will burn the place to the ground.

It's funny when Delphine was complaing about the Greybeards and how they're holding the PC back because they fear their power but then gripe about Paarthurnax. Makes me wonder who's really afraid of the PC. Actually I wonder if the Blades would eventually ever try and kill the DB for siding with Paarthurnax and Odahviing, seeing them no better than a dragon.

Good point about what Delphine tells you about being afraid of your power.  Wouldn't it be ironic if they did try to kill you?  The DB is indeed even more powerful than a dragon, with all that dov soul powah.

I really want to ask her what she thinks of the imperial battlemages using dragons, or of AKATOSH BEING A DRAGON.

More disappointing than Delphine is Esbern, who really should know better.

I would hope they wouldn't go that far. I'll help the Blades but doesn't the dragonborn dictate what they should do? Didn't they listen to Reman Cyrodiil and Tiber Septim when they gave the orders? If so, I have decided that they should leave the old ways behind, not every dragon is dangerous, some dragons don't even attack people, some just fly around and attack no one. The Thalmor are a bigger problem, maybe they should shift their purpose towards that instead of wasting their time fighting dragons that attack no one.

Speaking of souls and such I'm surprised Molag Bal wasn't more active in Dawnguard. You think with him being all about soul stealing and domination he'd be all in your DB face. Instead I felt Hermaeus Mora was more the pushy Daedra salesman. Thoughts?

Also does anybody have a way of getting rid of the burnt vampire skin glitch? That doesn't involve mods (PS3). It's starting to bother me a bit, makes my characters face look ruddy.

He has a larger part because the Nords have had problems with him the past.  They say he almost convinced the Nords into becoming the Aldmer, and he was always trying to get Ysgrammor, probably to have him as his champion. I swear, he has got to be one of the most unusual and unknown daedra,  nobody knows what he wants or why he does it. Molag Bal, Boethiah, Mehrunes Dagon and Mephala all have clear intentions and they're supposed to be scarier but they're not.

As for Molag Bal not being there I think I was glad he wasn't there, to me it seems that the connection to vampires and Molag Bal isn't the same as lycanthropes are connected to Hircine. He would have made things more interesting though.
