Wish they made the Mastery Spells at least somewhat usefull though. As things are, it's a lot of work for nothing - because pretty much all Expert spells are better. Well maybe except Conjuration. Alteration would be good... but the short duration really kills utility.

Meh, that permanent flame atronarch can barely follow you. It's always somewhere way behind, making it useless. I've no idea what's wrong with the thing. All the other atronarchs and the dremora lord are keeping up well enough, but that permanent thing tends to just derp around in the first chamber of a dungeon .<_<

I'm kinda excited about Dragonhide; I'm not gonna lie. My Dunmer character is robes-only, so every little bit helps. I toyed with the idea of switching back to regular armor once I get Alteration maxed, but I think I'm going to continue rolling with it. It tests my skills in a good way, and forces me to make smarter decisions.

The thrall spells for Conjuration are nice, but if you are around people a lot, it gets annoying to hear people commenting on the dead guy following you. And, like renjility said, they do tend to get lost. I had a Dead Thrall that kept getting lost inside dungeons. I guess that's what I should have expected from Gaius Maro. Heh.

@Giggles - yeah, it really was awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing more of that series.

@Volus - good for you! Gotta love Orcs. I still can't believe that I waited to create one in the beginning. Once I finally did, my Orc arse-kicker became one of my all-time favorite characters.

Hey, did Mjoll get new dialogue? We were in Southfringe Sanctum (Bashnag's coven), and she said a couple of things that made me stop in my tracks. One thing was regarding dark magic, and the other was about killing the spell-casters as soon as possible, before they could summon beasts we didn't want to deal with. Or something to that effect.

Maybe it's just been a while since I've taken her out in that situation, but I was surprised. And dang, her incessant yammering is annoying. I was half considering bringing her to Solstheim, too.

Well, I was also looking forward to Dragonhide. But after getting it, I had to rethink my strategy.
45 seconds just doesn't cut it. Of course I'm a sneaky type, so I like to take things slow. Things might be different for a guns blazing Conjurer with 2 meatshields... I mean summons/reanimated corpses.

Well, I'm near the armor cap with Light Armor and Ebony Flesh now. The Mage Armor perks go to waste.. but such is life. At least now I put Morokei to good use... also the 50 kgs extra weight allowance on the Guildmaster Armor is awesome! It looks great too!
Plus I've installed Dawnguard and there are Vampire light armors with Magicka regen... cool! Might eventually go with that... but extra weight is immensly usefull for me so far :)

Does Dragonhide not work with Stability (Alteration spells have 50% greater duration)?

My plan is use that perk, plus I've been working on Illusion, so Quiet Casting could come in handy. I'm wearing Master Robes of Alteration, plus I threw a perk in Recovery in the Restoration tree.

As for weight, the two things I always do are:  the Aetherium Wars questline, so I can get the crown (then add Steed Stone for +100 weight, plus whatever else). Then I get to the point in Dawnguard where I can get Saint Jiub's Locket in the Soul Cairn. With both of those equipped, it's a nice amount of extra weight you can carry, and you can use other enchantments in your armor.

Have you gotten the Blackguard's Armor yet? It's part of DB - it looks like Linwe's Armor, but the stats are slightly better than Guildmaster's Armor. Quite worth it, if you're the stealthy type.

I got my Orc at level 56. Maxed out one handed, almost maxed out two handed, and have no idea what I'll do after that.

Two handed stuff is still too clumsy, slow, and exposing to be good.

Sorry, but 2H is so much more visceral and visually appealing to me. And the Kill Cams are more exciting too, IMO.

Patch 1.9 is announced!  The beta is up on steam.  That means the next DLC can't be =that= far away.

Against the Falmer Shadowmasters who one-shot my 300 hit point ebony-fleshed mage, I actually found the Dragonhide spell surprisingly useful.

^ Sissel is awesome. I'm thinking it might be time for her daddy to die in my game, too.

I haven't adopted any pixel kids yet in this playthrough - heck, I waited until after level 30 to even get married. I'm not in a hurry...but I did make Eola another Steward. I bet she's anxious for someone to sharpen her teeth on. Maybe I'll get a little boy for that purpose. Muhaha.

It's been a looong time since I've done Boethiah's quest, but I did it over the weekend. All I can say is, poor Vorstag. If he didn't have that weird mouthful-of-marbles voice, I might have let him live, milk-drinker or no. I mean, he's not terrible-looking...but that voice just had to go.

And now for the Ebony Mail. Well, after I finish up Volskygge.

PATCH 1.9!
NEW FEATURES
Legendary difficulty setting
Legendary Skills - Skills of 100 can be made Legendary. This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect leveling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap.

That is...pretty awesome actually.
Now to get to level 78 and do battle with a Legendary Dragon on the Legendary Difficulty.
It will make a legend that will be the stuff of LEGENDS!

.....legend.

That's a pretty robust patch, lots of little quest and perk fixes. Bravo Bethesda. They are on the case.

The illusion master spell is pretty powerful.  It also makes you level ridiculously fast.  I got to 100 illusion with just one or two groups of horkers.

Legendary difficulty? Good, I've been waiting for a challenge for my dragonborn and their high-leveledness.

I see they finally fixed the ebony blade. Might give that a whirl.

Oh, I watched Vikings as well. Have been excited about that for a long time. "Ulfric" gave regular updates on the filming on his Facebook page. He wasn't in the premiere, but I still liked it.

To me Skyrim isn't that Norse, though. Only very superficially. My husband did say "oh, they're going to see the jarl." Hehe.

I don't get the legendary skill logic. If after 40 levels I've finally got 100 skill in Archery and all the fun perks...now all of that is gone?

I still curse every time the UI interface closes because its mouse over doesn't work properly when you click an item. I wish they would fix that.

I'm going to craft some fortify smithing and enchanting potions, then some smithing and alchemy gear just to be safe.

Doing the Civil War questline.

God I loved charging into Whiterun with Dragon Aspect on and Cyclone throwing mooks about.
Nothing quite says PWNED like getting thrown through the air by a twister then having an angry demi-god smack you a dragonbone mace.

I'm guessing mods are probably the real culprit in your case. Posted Image

Hmm...so I just tried Legendary difficulty and a legendary skill.

Here's what happened. Legendary difficulty is just another step in the unimaginative mechanic of reducing the PC's damage and increasing the bad guys. I don't know the exact ratios, but:

1) I was doing *noticeably* less damage
2) max armor cap will still make anything but the highest level weapon using enemies annoyances rather than dangerous
3) That said, a mage using lightning almost killed me (I had just 15% resistance)

As for Legendary skills: You lose everything. You are effectively a noob. But you get the perks back to reinvest. Well, that's how it is supposed to work, but they haven't all the kinks worked out. As an archer I could no longer zoom in and now longer got any critical hits, but my ranger perk worked just fine.

This basically meant my legendary dragonbow bow now did 75 damage instead of 150 (before difficulty modifiers and not including the arrow damage). That's still a lot and because it's still a lot, my archery skill went from 15 to 24 in just a single fight vs a draugr deathlord...I'm pretty sure I was getting a skill point increase every 3 shots! With weapon-related combat skills, it might not be a bad investment to gain levels quickly...the inconvenience of losing perks is but temporary and with excellent gear, you'll have them back sooner rather than later.

I don't know how this will work with mages. Mages need their perks. I suppose a master illusionist could mess around with a herd of horkers...but that's almost as lame as soul trapping corpses to raise your conjuration skill. Would a master thief give up all their sneaking?

It just looks like something to do if you're desperate for levels or something. Which is fine I guess...I'm not a big fan of just randomly picking up pickpocketing or alchemy bc/ I want to increase levels. But they should have called it something besides "legendary" skills bc/ reseting them does not make you so legendary. Though advancing 9 levels of archery to defeat a single draugr deathlord was rather amusing.
