started another ranger since my char got borked this morning lol, crossbows this time i think

I'm guessing mods are probably the real culprit in your case. Image IPB

yeah i have to agree with you on this, there was just so much broke an went wrong that it couldnt have been the dlc itself, since i had to start a new character im actually of a mind to  delete all the mods an redownload new ones, but i prob pick broke ones again lol

^ Have you tried playing the vanilla game? You might want to try that, no mods (I know, the horror), and see what you think. At least that way, you'll have a basis for comparison.

Although that right there would be about 300+ hours, to try every quest, every location, yada yada, not counting DLC...

Does Dragonhide not work with Stability (Alteration spells have 50% greater duration)?

It does. 45 seconds is with Stability, otherwise its just 30. You can't dual cast master level spells to extend the duration further.

My plan is use that perk, plus I've been working on Illusion, so Quiet Casting could come in handy. I'm wearing Master Robes of Alteration, plus I threw a perk in Recovery in the Restoration tree.

I did pick Recovery as well :)
Between the Vampire Armor, Morokei, Recovery and a ring of something, I think I can manage +375 Magicka regen rate. Can use the Highborn power in a pinch also :) ...good thing too, as high level spells are very expensive... and I consider more then 1 spell school reducing item unbalanced and don't use them.
Don't progress in Enchanting either.

As for weight, the two things I always do are:  the Aetherium Wars questline, so I can get the crown (then add Steed Stone for +100 weight, plus whatever else). Then I get to the point in Dawnguard where I can get Saint Jiub's Locket in the Soul Cairn. With both of those equipped, it's a nice amount of extra weight you can carry, and you can use other enchantments in your armor.

Thanks for the info. Though I'm not sure I'd want to part with Morokei now... well, maybe for a archery bonus headgear (Krosis? ...or x of peerless archery?).

Have you gotten the Blackguard's Armor yet? It's part of DB - it looks like Linwe's Armor, but the stats are slightly better than Guildmaster's Armor. Quite worth it, if you're the stealthy type.

Nope, haven't started DB yet... will have to look that one up :)
...I see that's still 50 kg more... but I think I like the colouring on the Guildmaster more. Other then the body armor, I wear the Nightingale Boots and Eminent Archery Hide Bracers anyway.

I got my Orc at level 56. Maxed out one handed, almost maxed out two handed, and have no idea what I'll do after that.

Two handed stuff is still too clumsy, slow, and exposing to be good.

Sorry, but 2H is so much more visceral and visually appealing to me. And the Kill Cams are more exciting too, IMO.

Agree 100%. Once you try 2-handed, 1-handed will seem weak and irrelevant.

You might want to try the Elemental Fury shout with unenchanted, smithed weapons. Will make the speed much more manageable.

I guess the Longhammer might be the best 2-handed weapon overall... but I don't really like the orcish warhammer model.

Wish they made the Mastery Spells at least somewhat usefull though. As things are, it's a lot of work for nothing - because pretty much all Expert spells are better. Well maybe except Conjuration. Alteration would be good... but the short duration really kills utility.

The illusion master spell is pretty powerful.  It also makes you level ridiculously fast.  I got to 100 illusion with just one or two groups of horkers.

Well, perhaps it's good against horkers. And the range is crazy on these spells. But seeing how they can at best affect level 25 (plus modifiers) and dual-cast Expert spells can affect level 44 (plus modifiers), they really are very weak.

Just ran some quick tests. Legendary difficulty reduces your damage to 25% (master for comparison is 50%).

@Happy - Do your non-armor users wear the Aetherium Crown?

^ Yes. I'm not absolutely positive that mage armor is helping me while wearing that crown, tbh. I don't improve it, so the armor rating remains at 0, but I don't know if I'm boinking any benefit I would be receiving from flesh spells.

Well I finished the Civil War:
It ended like it began.

High King Torygg was slain with the use of the voice
General Tullius was slain and disintegrated with the voice

Nice little book notes there.

Moved into Windhelm too with Aela, also did that to be close to Solstheim.
Finally rebuilding my game.

I find it odd how my Imperial is being more of a Nord then most Nords.

^ Of course, all you have to do is click on the arrow on your map to get to Solstheim, once you've been there the initial time, and vice versa. But I don't blame you for moving into Hjerim. The house itself is great. I just wish it didn't snow so much in Windhelm.

And I'm really tired of snow irl, too. Come on, spring! Image IPB

God.
Freaking.
Damn it.

I am never doing Season Unending ever again.
EVER.

For some reason none of the Jarl's were really replaced.
Screw it starting over....and having to do a lot of crap over again.....****.

Oh well I guess I can redo the Oghma quest again and fix some other bugs.

I don't think even  I can do that ever again. I played like that before when I used my xbox. There are sooooo many things mods add to the game. Those things, in my opinion should have been there, at least some of them, at least they allow us to add more to the game. Besides, when I first started with mods, it took me a while to get everything to work fine, I screwed up soooo many characters. There's also a lot of tools to make everything work right, it's just a matter of patience and downloading the right mods not the ones that break things.

I'm level 54, I have yet to find an enemy that resists my dual-cast illusion spells but I haven't tried Harmony out on anything but horkers, it's true.  lol

Illusion + Sneak is a ridiculously terrifying and overpowered build, so I won't mind if things start to get tough.  My Dunmer may end up being the highest level PC I've played, thanks to the DLCs.

yeah i did dragonborn yesterday did most of it got to the end fight with miraak an well my character got borked to put it plainly, i ended up sitting from 2am to 9am this morning trying everything to fix her, i managed through the console an various fight attempts to eventually kill him get the dialogue afterwards be able to interact with the book an then load into solstheim which made me cheer, then my character just stood there an i couldnt interact or move her in anyway, which made me inprint a few keyboard keys onto my forehead.
was nearly 9am at that point so i gave up an went to bed, when i got up i realised if i wanted to do dragonborn id be better deleting everything an starting again minus certain mods.

so here i am starting again an going for ACE this time instead of skyre

I haven't had any problems with Miraak except one time the Skaal were suspended in their post-Herma Mora positions when I got back to the village. Reloading and re-doing the fight with Miraak solved that problem. I used TES5Edit on the DLC, and I have USKP and all the patches, so it can't be that alone. Check your load order maybe?

Interesting, I had started Septimus' quest in Skyrim before doing DB but killed Miraak before going back to complete it.  Initially I thought I might have a bug because Septimus just stood there when he got to the Oghma Infinium instead of turning into a pile of ash.  I reloaded and the same thing happened, so I hit him with a spell and he fell over dead, and H-M's wigglers appeared right outside the dwarven lockbox instead of further up at the entrance.  So I wonder if that is deliberate- if you are already H-M's "champion," you have to kill Septimus yourself in order to get the Infinium.  It added a nice roleplay element at any rate.

Gopher has posted a vid on SkyRe and installation for those that are interested. While such mods are not for me, I am glad these intructional vids are made for more complex installs like this, SKSE, etc.

Uninstalling them properly can do that, or downloading the "wrong" mod and if using a lot of mods, it is best to use the tools available to stabilize skyrim, otherwise you might have a mess on your hands.

Oh yeah and while SkyRe is an interesting mod, I don't think the game itself needs that kind of overhaul, besides most any other mod that is downloaded needs a compatibility patch for it, which is the reason I stay away from it, too many things to do to get it working and it isn't worth the effort to me, plus I already have enough things.

Oh and since we're talking mods, does anyone know about any mods that show the sleep animation besides "See you sleep" since that mod is bugged and abandoned, plus it tends to break your game as well.

My nightblade finally got over his commitment anxiety and married Jenassa.  She looks so natural in her Dunmer outfit puttering around in Severin Manor.  Much better than putting her somewhere in cold Skyrim.

Did this mainly so I could hire Teldryn Sero.  He's hilarious!  I can't stop looking at the both of them.  It's terribly distracting.

mustnotlookatthesexydunmer....

I am surprised how many people pack up and go to Solstheim.

I myself chose to live in Windhelm on my main.
Partly to keep watch on Ulfric, partly to keep close to Solstheim

Also because I like the home there.

Riften is my favorite place to live, I like the feel it gives off. I do like Windhelm simply because of the secret room.

(That is some good looking Dunmer up there.)

think thats where the problem lay m8, me installing other mods along side skyre, i know its possible just think i buggered it up, i'll try it again at a later date when im used to modding the game abit more because i really like the perk tree overhaul it does but right now i just want to settle down an complete a play through from start to finish lol so this time i went with ACE  immersive armor n weapons, skyui, a custom house an some texture mods mainly to do with the sky because ive a habit of looking up at it alot lol

Wow, I didn't realize that the Real Carriages mod was made by co-lead designer Kurt Kuhlmann from content that was originally going to be in the game.

He seems like a cool guy btw.  He was working on a history PhD when he left to work on game design.

Kolbjorn barrow... what a boring quest. It's clear from the beginning you're being set up, yet you need to wait for a courier twenty times only to finally meet another lame dragon priest you kill in one hit.
