It is more stupid to me because you have to keep sending people to obviously get killed.
If you read his journals then it is obvious that something sinister is going on,.

But if you want to finish off cyclone shout then you need to keep going.
God I wish there was an option to just say "NO!" and get quests out of your list.

Also I am starting fresh and cutting almost all of my mods out, I have found why the Jarl's did not get replaced however. The "VAMPIRES ATTACK" mod interfered with a script allowing people to move their homes.
Going to roll a Breton this time around.

Hope that works better this time.

My nightblade finally got over his commitment anxiety and married Jenassa.  She looks so natural in her Dunmer outfit puttering around in Severin Manor.  Much better than putting her somewhere in cold Skyrim.

Did this mainly so I could hire Teldryn Sero.  He's hilarious!  I can't stop looking at the both of them.  It's terribly distracting.

Image IPB

That's the mercenary you can hire in the Retching Netch? Seriously? Image IPB

And congratulations on your wedding! I just love Jenassa. And I love the Dunmer outfit. I bet she's adorable. I broke down and married Lydia. I figured that after 30 (level 30), I was finally ready to make that commitment.

I am surprised how many people pack up and go to Solstheim.

I myself chose to live in Windhelm on my main.
Partly to keep watch on Ulfric, partly to keep close to Solstheim

Also because I like the home there.

My favorite house is Lakeview Manor. I'm a sucker for a great view (and the trees!) Plus, I've got a nice girl power thing going on there - Rayya (Housecarl), Eola (Steward), and Lydia (wife).

No pixel kids yet, but I'm thinking about it. I was toying with the idea of adopting Hroar. Although I have bad memories of that little boy from Katla's Farm, so I may not.

And wow, I got a Dwemer Schematic quest from Sorine (DG) that is in Solstheim. Fahlbtharz, in fact. Nothing like sending me as far away as she could think of. Heh.

Hello, folks

Bethesda has released details on patch 1.9. After the lackluster 1.8 patch that didn't really fix anything, this new patch is a sight for sore eyes. Details are below.

Image IPB

Beginning today, Steam users can download the beta version of Skyrim 1.9 title update – featuring Legendary new features (see below) and new bug fixes. For console players out there, we’re hoping to release 1.9 later this month — we’ll keep you updated when we have specific dates.

With recent changes to Steam, you’ll want to take the following steps to opt into the beta.

•Within your Steam Library, right click on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
•Select Properties
•Select the Beta tab and opt in using the drop box

If you opt into the Beta, be sure to back up your saved games or simply be careful not to overwrite your existing saves. If you decide to opt out of the beta program, your old saves will still work with the current release of Skyrim on Steam (v 1.8).

So what’s in the update? Check the changelog below…

Skyrim 1.9

NEW FEATURES

•Legendary difficulty setting
•Legendary Skills – Skills of 100 can be made Legendary. This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect leveling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap.

On a sidenote, I finished up the Alteration mastery quest last night. Woo! Onto the next.

I'm currently playing through the Theives Guild as a Nord hunter character. I've sort of made it my own. I use a little bit of alteration (Oakflesh) and Restoration instead of relying on potions. I also smith my own weapons and armor. Other than that, I mainly use my bow at range and an axe for close encounters.

So far, I've been having a blast with this character. :D

yeah that was my choice when i had to make another character, wee nord hunter, going the smithing route aswell but trying this time to stay away from enchanting (i think i may loose that battle lol)

Using starter mod called alternate start life another life as i couldnt be bothered trudging through that prologue again lol, its pretty decent tbh can make you a new member of one of the guilds if you want that, but i just went for starting in whiterun.

can see me going the dark brotherhood or thieves guild route with her, dont know yet though may just make her a outcast who shuns society in favor of the wilderness lol

Kolbjorn barrow... what a boring quest. It's clear from the beginning you're being set up, yet you need to wait for a courier twenty times only to finally meet another lame dragon priest you kill in one hit.

A bit anti-climactic, yes.  And I hate when they enforce stupidity on you, like it would not have occurred to my DB that he should be there when the miners are breaking through rather than cleaning up their bodies every time afterward.

@ happy daiz: That's the Retching Netch mercenary, yes.  Of course I ripped that chitin helmet off first thing.  B)

There are apparently zero DLC hints in 1.9. It's been 24 hours and no one has seen anything that I can find. Even Hearthfire was hinted at before release. Do you think that means DLC is done? Or have then become as good at scrubbing their files as BioWare was at the end of ME3's life cycle?

Ironically, there are seemingly a few mods that do allow Quest deletions. Decisions; decisions....

And I never finsihed that Barrow questline; killed Miirak before that, and everything felt anti-climatic afterwards, and started a couple of other DB's instead. After my current playthrough of DAO, I may have to return and continue this storyline.

Either they haven't finished their data mining yet or Bethesda have scrubbed up. Also, it might be that they release another patch between now and the next DLC.

Also, don't forget that the patch is still in beta and more things are being added and modified before full release.

I think they would have said something about Dragonborn being the last DLC when they released it, so I doubt thats a reason.

I'm pretty sure Bethesda does not try to hide DLC hints; it's free publicity.  They just took forever getting DB ready for the PC and PS, my guess is it will be a while before the next DLC and thus any hints we might see.

For me, the bug fixes are terrific, but could care less about the Legendary tweeks. There is nothing legendary or masterful about fighting buffed opponents while crippling your own character, IMO.

I kinda wish they had alternate skill trees for Legendary, like what they did with the werewolf and vampire lord trees. But that would probably complicate things a bit too much, I suppose.

I wonder if there are any vanilla improved helmets he'd wear instead of that butt-ugly bug-looking chitin thing...?

He equipped stuff when I gave it to him, so I imagine it's the standard drill, he'll put on whatever light armor has the best rating.

He's got a spellsword build- one handed, destruction and conjuration.  Low sneak, but I gave him some muffle boots so we'll see how he does.

Something completely different. Last night I thought I would pay the face sculptor a visit to give my dark elf a make over. In the end I decided that she should stay just the way she was. State of the art ugliness. ;)

A note I saw on the uesp wiki made me a little concerned about that: "Teldryn prefers his chitin helmet to most other helmets."...so that's good to know!

I'm pretty sure he's going to be my next follower. I just wish he was marriageable.

I did that myself, and now my husband is all upset that I changed my Dunmer's face. All I changed was her eye shape and hair style, so you could see her ears better (for the Aetherial crown), but  it was some big catastrophe in his book. Hehe.

OK, OK, I did tweak her cheekbones a bit, too. Honestly, she looks pretty similar to your Dunmer, but sans war paint, and I kept her eyes black.

•Placing an unread Oghma Infinium on a bookshelf in the player’s house no longer allows the book to be reused again

Ahaha

....And there was much sighing and gnashing of teeth.

I Imagine there's a ton of players who are unhappy after reading this, as that Oghma Infinium-bookshelf exploit was a huge part of their  "tricks and tips".

Me, I'm taking part in this beta imediately.  Hopefully it'll fix  some of my Dragonborn DLC issues.

Eh?  That's not how I read that line in the notes.  The "skill rollover" does bring your skills back to 15 after you reach 100, but you don't  lose any perks you gained.  Instead, you're simply allowed to continue gaining points.   This is awesome, as your  warrior can now get to level 81 without having to waste time  leveling skills he doesn't wish to level.

But, that's just my interpretation from  a read.  I'd, of course, have to actually try it out in-game to see what all this means.

I'm upset about the Oghma Infinium fix. It really helped me level to where I want to be as I don't have the time to get to higher levels on my own. I never hit the 81 anyway, I just gain the perks I want and everything else is secondary. This really sucks. :(
