A note I saw on the uesp wiki made me a little concerned about that: "Teldryn prefers his chitin helmet to most other helmets."...so that's good to know!

I'm pretty sure he's going to be my next follower. I just wish he was marriageable.

Well keep in mind, I do use UFO and it has a "change default outfit" functionality.  It's a little mysterious as to whether it actually works on the Solstheim followers since the mod creator hasn't patched it yet, but he does have UFO dialogue options.  Hopefully it works for you as well.

Eh?  That's not how I read that line in the notes.  The "skill rollover" does bring your skills back to 15 after you reach 100, but you don't  lose any perks you gained.  Instead, you're simply allowed to continue gaining points.   This is awesome, as your  warrior can now get to level 81 without having to waste time  leveling skills he doesn't wish to level.

But, that's just my interpretation from  a read.  I'd, of course, have to actually try it out in-game to see what all this means.

I am speaking of the Legendary difficulty; seems DB damage is reduced to 25%, and am guessing opponent damage is further increased past Master lvls. This holds no interest for me at all.

As for the reset, it seems more like weakening the Skill to be replayed again. Hope that is wrong.

Personally, I play on Adept where it is even on both sides, and use a few mods to increase difficulty past 31st, increase Destruction dmg via perks, and makes for more challenging Dragons.

Do we actually get to keep our perks in Legendary mode or are they removed? I've heard both stories so far and I don't know which is true. I'm not real sure I'll use it, I've already got 3 mods that make the game very difficult for me, I don't know that I want any more troubles with that. Even the Imperials and the Stormcloaks can take me out easily.

So I was wondering, could the Dragonborn and Alduin be aspects of each other? Because I was thinking about it and by defeating Alduin the DB pushed him back onto the path of being the World Eater and thus some day the cause the end of the world. Alduin himself without the DB seemed to want to rule the world again with dragons like before and you can't rule something that is destroyed. Even Paarthurnax states that those who try and stop the the end may hasten and vice versa so it had me wondering if the two were two sides of the same coin who were then broken off aspects of Akatosh who could be the other side of Lorkhan.

I also read a nifty connection to the prophecy where someone stated that the DB (rebel) fights against Alduin (king). I know it was implying otherwise but it's still a nice correlation.

Just speculations on my part but I was curious about what others think.

You lose your perks.  Though you get to reinvest them elsewhere.

If they wanted to make people do that Legacy thing you should get a free perk for doing it.
Or something at least.

Anyone notice that each DLC presents us with a FOE but then subverts it with showing us the real villain.

Harkon is not the TRUE villain but Vrythur
Miraak is not the TRUE villain but Mora.

I wonder if they are going to continue this tradition into the next DLC?

More importantly, what is the next DLC about? They're making a new one, that much is clear, however the patch had nothing to hint what it is, at least the beta doesn't. All we have is Redguard and that doesn't necesarily mean its a DLC. Whatever, it is I think its big, especially if they deliberately removed anything that might hint at it.

Vrythur, he was that snow elf vampire jackhole, wasn't he? He didn't seem like 'the real villain' just some boss that I shouted off of his tower in the middle of his rant (along with Serena  but she got better)

•Placing an unread Oghma Infinium on a bookshelf in the player’s house no longer allows the book to be reused again

Ahaha

....And there was much sighing and gnashing of teeth.

I Imagine there's a ton of players who are unhappy after reading this, as that Oghma Infinium-bookshelf exploit was a huge part of their  "tricks and tips".

Me, I'm taking part in this beta imediately.  Hopefully it'll fix  some of my Dragonborn DLC issues.

Meh, the Oghma Infinium thing is no biggie to me. I never once used that exploit, and most of the time, once I get the book, I don't even bother to read it / get the skill points from it. The fun is in earning the level-up for me. I will never understand using exploits as a tactic; it's kind of milk-drinkerish.

I hope this patch resolves your Dragonborn issues; it sounds like they were game-breaking.

I watched Vikings, and saw the preview for the next episode - the shield-maidens are going to be awesome, methinks. The show has a lot of potential.

Oh, and speaking of Ulfric's VA (Vladimir Kulich, who will be 'Eric' in Vikings), I started playing the new Tomb Raider last night - I could swear I'm hearing both him and Brynjolf's (Robin Atkin Downes) voices. I haven't found a complete list of cast members for TR anywhere yet, to confirm.

Or, maybe I'm hearing things. Posted Image

You know...for my Breton I am going to go Imperial.

Out of all the races I think they have the least beef with the Empire really.
Until the Thalmor demand Titus Mede give them High Rock so he does not have to give a single inch of Cyrodil up.

Going to focus on one-handed, light armor, conjuration, and sneak I believe.

I am facing an odd issue though with Skyrim.
Every time I verify the integrity it keeps downloading a 752 byte pack.

I have no idea what is even in it. Wonder if it is causing the issues with my game.

WTF? So I was working on my estate at Lakeview and a Blood Dragon swoops in. Alright, Lydia and I can handle this guy. I'm crouching behind my stable wall to avoid the frost breath and BAM. A giant comes behind me and kills me.

^ Yeah, that's pretty common. One time after fast-traveling to Lakeview, I had a giant, vampires, and bandits, all at the same time. And if that wasn't fun enough, right at the end, a dragon showed up. That whole thing was sheer chaos.

You've got to have your wits about you outside your houses, that's for sure!

Compounded attacks like that started with Dawnguard, and seem to have been accelerated by Dragonborn. I could be wrong, but it seems that way.

That is nothing.

When I was in Solstheim in short order while trying to clear the Earth stone":
A Dragon swooped in to attack me <_<
I resuce the villager
The Lurker starts kicking my ass but I still win

Then another Lurker comes out of the water and I JUST manage to win :bandit:
Then a Group of Ash Spawn attack me while I was walking back towards town :pinched:
Nothing quite says badass like freeing villagers, killing a dragon, two giant monsters, and a group of undead in less then an hour. B)

Then I went and bought some Ash Yams and all was good.
It is rather amusing that by late game you simply curb stomp whoever it is that opposes you and dont even notice.
Dragon? Meh seen it and eat the soul
Daedra? Hammy but not that odd
Undead? Killed em a thousand times
Bandits? Bah thousands have fallen.

^ I'm nodding. I'm in agreement, and I'm totally digging your style.

But why on earth would you BUY ash yams, when they're literally everywhere in and around Raven Rock? Posted Image

Just speculations on my part but I was curious about what others think.

Michael Kirkbride, the guru who likes to explain and confuse often in the same sentence, had this to say on the subject:

"Don't forget that gods can be shaped by the mythopoeic forces of the mantlers-- so Tosh Raka could be an Akaviri avatar of Akatosh with a grudge against his mirror-brother in Cyrodiil.

Just like Akatosh-as-we-usually-know-him could time-scheme against his mirror-brother of the Nords, Alduin, to keep the present kalpa-- perhaps his favorite-- from being eaten.

Notice all the coulds."

It's a pretty common theory among the lore geeks that there is some kind of enantimorph going on in Skyrim, but the trio I've most heard is Ulfric- Tullius- Dragonborn.  The parallels are many.  The roles aren't that clear, but then again in the original enantimorph the dudes switched roles at times, too.  I think Tullius ~ Hjalti, the general who fights for the Colovian warlord and stands in for Torygg, the King; Ulfric ~ Wulfharth, the one who restores Nords to their old gods but was told by the the Greybeards that he was not the chosen one, the Rebel; and Dragonborn ~ Zurin Arctus, the mythic power channeler, and Witness.  But that's a theory that has holes, so we'll have to see how it pans out with the rest of the DLC.

Something else that is cool to think about is that in entering Sovngarde, you are probably acting as an avatar of Shor.  You notice that Shor makes no appearance whatsoever in the Hall of Valor.  To me it has a parallel from the Songs of Wulfharth: "Boy Wulfharth pleaded to Shor, the dead Chieftain of the Gods, to help his people.  Shor's own ghost then fought the World Eater on the spirit plane, as he did at the beginning of time, and won..."

I've been following the filming via Vladimir Kulich's Facebook page, and watched the premiere.  I was pretty pleased with it.  They could have screwed it up in so many ways but so far so good.
