the "Poisoned" perk is nice for some Dark Brotherhood marks... the orcish bard in Morthal, for one. .

Oh Yes.

Also,  the  Poisoned perk allows you to publically  eliminate   those particularly annoying NPCs  in a  totally clean,  totally legal, bountry-free manner:

Remember:  it's not murder if your mark kills himself.

^ Oh wow, I didn't realize you could just go up and do that in front of people. OK, I am sooo trying that out.

@Joy - that was spectacular. Image IPB

Great fun, a step up from the poisoned apple in Oblivion. :)

I wrapped up the Soul Cairn last night. With the enhanced thunder mod it was making my ears pound (I play with a headset), but the atmosphere was nice.

Recent favorite dialogue: *SPOILERS from the Reluctant Steward Quest*

Neloth: "Have you seen Varona? I'm hungry."

DB: "No, I haven't seen Varona:"

Neloth: "Well find her. Tell her I want apple cabbage stew, with some canis root tea."

DB options:

■Why don't you just make your own tea?: "What? Make my own tea? I am a master wizard of the house Telvanni. Other people make tea for me."

■Of course, Master Neloth. As you command: "Finally. Someone who recognises my importance around here."

■Hey, I'm not your servant: "Obviously not, or you would have a cup of tea in your hands. I supposed you want to be asked nicely. Very well. Please, oh hero of Skyrim. Please find Varona. I shall be ever so grateful."

lol - I chose the last one, and was smiling for a while.

I like Neloth. And I chose the dialogue about making his own tea, and not being his servant. I smirked when I brought him a Black Book and he said he was going to make a copy just to be on the safe side, and then handwaved the fact that I was keeping the book. I'm curious to see what he says next.

How did you deal with Mogrul?

Last night (or this morning, depending on how you view it) I handled this matter by riding a Legendary Dragon into Raven Rock, casually entering the Retching Netch, being in a sneak position, using the paralysis spell on him, which caused him and Slitter to become hostile, allowing me to kill them both without getting a bounty. I did Raven Rock a favor. I'm only disappointed that people weren't throwing me a parade in the streets.

And I took his Tavern clothes.

Serana just runs in and gets everything to agro her....moron.

Ugh I need to find a mod or something.

I almost always worked alone in Skyrim, until I had Serana and CuSith with me for a little bit, but Solstheim is where I've had companions with me for almost the entire time. My Riekling Hunter pal has been with me since I became the new Chief to his tribe, and after having Frea with me for a while (until she left my side after our little Dwemer adventure with Neloth), I have Teldryn Sero making wisecracks with me.

happy_daiz wrote...

Hey, did Mjoll get new dialogue? We were in Southfringe Sanctum (Bashnag's coven), and she said a couple of things that made me stop in my tracks. One thing was regarding dark magic, and the other was about killing the spell-casters as soon as possible, before they could summon beasts we didn't want to deal with. Or something to that effect.

Maybe it's just been a while since I've taken her out in that situation, but I was surprised. And dang, her incessant yammering is annoying. I was half considering bringing her to Solstheim, too.

I like Dragonhide. I believe it hits the armor cap, giving you the most protection, and my points into Alteration (along with being a Necromage Vampire) have allowed it to extend longer than it usually does otherwise. My Dunmer mage only wore the Archmage robes when he was heading to face Alduin through Skuldafn, and archers can kill you in one shot (without any magical protection) when you're putting most of your points into magicka. Dragonhide basically allows you to walk right up to their face, laugh at them as they shoot you, and kill them. It also helped with the more difficult foes that I encountered in Solstheim, even though my character is now wearing the Royal Vampire Armor.

happy_daiz wrote...

^ Yes. I'm not absolutely positive that mage armor is helping me while wearing that crown, tbh. I don't improve it, so the armor rating remains at 0, but I don't know if I'm boinking any benefit I would be receiving from flesh spells.

The Aetherium Crown only increases in value, even if you smith it to Legendary status.

Dragonhide takes too long to cast and lasts only 30 seconds. It's pretty pathetic.

But a mage should never get hit in the first place.

^ Yeah, once I got Alteration up to 100, I switched over to light armor. It just wasn't worth it to me to use up that much Magicka, right at the beginning of the fight. Well, and to stand there casting it.

The casting times of the master skills is soooo annoying. I get it for a spell like Mass Paralysis. The others not so much, especially as they get interrupted if you get hit.

So I finnished the Companion questline for the first time yesterday and I have to say that it was really short and kinda dissapointing.

The Thieves Guild on the other hand has a much more interesting story.

I prefer the companions to the thieves guild. but I did mod their quest so that it would be longer/better. As for the thieves I hate having to sell my soul to nocturnal to beat a mere human like Mercer. The best questline and to my dismay as well is the Dark Brotherhood but I never join them. They're nothing but a band of psychopaths who kill for some burnt woman and a so called "god of death" and even if it is not that way when Astrid is in charge they all seem twitchy and mentally unstable to me, maybe Veezara is an exception but thats that. I hate Cicero the most, I always set him as non-essential just so I can have him killed, I wish I could make the night mother disappear too.

I like the college of winterhold as well, but unfortunately it is too short and I haven't found any mods to make it longer, is there even any that make that modify that guild? Winterhold seems to be devoid of anything it seems, even the mods.

It lasts longer with stability (and as a necromage vampire); I personally use it just fine, but I can imagine the style isn't for everyone. To each his own.

As anyone noticed how the Riekling follower does a little shuffle sometimes? Moving back and forth like he's doing a little dance?

Okay....anyone got any idea which mod this came from:

http://cloud-2.steam...78.resizedimage

Speciffically the top right corner...I have no idea which mod updated that into Skyrim at all.
Maybe SkyUI...dont know.

Not that annoying but it is mysterious.

one of the benefits of completing the Companion missions--
1> Aela will ask you to help her got some Totem of Hircine which can power up some Werewolf abilities. [You start with Howl of Terror, you can get a "summon wolf spirit" howl, or a "Aura Whisper" esque howl.]
2> you have access to a multitude of Trainers, so unless you pull off the "Tome of Infinite Knowledge" exploit, you can have them train you for free, per level.
It's one thing i'm trying to do- burn through the Companions quest and start training enmass.

I wonder if the Ring of Hircine will grant me a Beast form-- even as a Vampire Lord...

Believe it is SkyUI; have been told that the MCM settings will allow us to hide the symbols.

I'm assuming this is for real...?

Pretty interesting to see the  MS Windows logo there instead of the Xbox one.

It only seems to work if you're currently a werewolf (at least, on the PS3) but you can transform into a werewolf as many times as you like in a day (with the ring).

Where did it come from? There's nothing about this in the other forums, just a thread saying that something is fake, don't know what though.

I know nothing about nothing, but I can't imagine Microsoft would allow their windows icon to be displayed on a banner in grayscale, rather than full color...and they'd use the Windows 8 logo, if it was legit.

This image looks terrible even at full-size. I call shananigans.

Yeah, where did that image come from? HoonDing, are you trolling us? Image IPB

I love sneaking around Falmer.
Seriously just doing a jig right in front of their face never gets old.

Now back to robbing the land.

You know, I'm kind of curious what a level 30 shapshot of people's characters would look like.

Here is my Vampire Breton Adaia (homage to DA character). She's basically dual wield, always conjures something, usually opens battle w/ a sneak attack or timely illusion.

Image IPB

Attributes (wo/ gear)
Magicka: 150
Health: 250
Stamina: 190

Illusion: 51
Conjuration: 56
Destruction: 18
Restoration: 46
Alteration: 24
Enchantment: 42

Smithing: 51
Heavy Armor: 15
Block: 27
Two-handed: 17
One-handed: 77
Archery: 45

Light Armor: 44
Stealth: 55
Lockpicking: 41
Pickpocketing: 16
Speech: 45
Alchemy: 30

Didn't realize how balanced everything was except one-handed. I don't use health, stamina, or magicka potions so probably explains some of that.
