I'll be a sword weilding Nord not sure if going for two blades or a shield, will definately have a back up dagger. Heavily leaning towards combat with light armour, good sneaking skills, lock picking and very little magic. The baddest man on the tundra.
I might go with light armor as well. in my current Oblivion game I'm wearing heavy. Of course I've yet to find any decent light armor as of yet. Have been training in light armor just in case I find some.<LOL>

I could tell you where to get an excellent light armour but it would probably a spoiler.

I prefer the freedom of light and sometimes medium armour. I'd rather dodge than soak up damage.

How bout a clue the area for which it can be located or would that be giving away to much? So far I've only done the mages reccomendation quest and most of the misc quest. I did stumble across umbra while searching old ruins and got my arse handed to me on a platter and to think that I was 10th level and even had some great weapons. Finally beat her though was bound and determined not to let a battle qet the best of me no matter who it was. LOL

Hhmmm the Dark Brotherhood quest is where you get it. Sorry I couldn't think of any way to dance around that one and I don't think its too much of a spoiler anyway. I used it for the rest of the gme once I got it, hell I still wear it.
Its the main reason the DB will be one of the first factions I seek out in Skyrim. Although I'd kinda prefer it if you couldn't join every faction, I hope its more indepth this time. As much as I enjoyed the Thieves Guild, Fighters Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests I only really did them to get the free stuff.

Will have to admit that I just recently got a deal to join the thieves guild. Was working on the Mage and Misc quests when I had to be arrested for one of them. and got it shortly after that there. This being my first time through the game I'm only joining the guilds and working on them to see what kinds of free stuff you get. Now DB isn't that the group where you have to murder someone to get access to?

I hope there are guild restrictions in Skyrim. If I was the lead designer there would be minimum skill requirements relevant to that guild just to join; increasing with each rank. Oblivion trivializes this by making guilds too accessible regardless of what type of character you play. Essentially I want the factions to be relatively antagonistic of each other and ban multiple memberships.
I'd hae to agree with you on this here. After all it makes no sense to be a member of the Fighters guild as well as for the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood.

I'm looking at the Collector's Edition and I must admit I'm ashamed considering it.
Don't be ashamed! That art book is 200 pages and pretty large.

I decided to place my preorder for the Collector's Edition since Bethesda was nice enough to pick my birthday as Skyrim's release date.

Your bday is the same day as the release for Skyrim? How cool is that there. I take it it's a bday present from you to you? At least your getting something that you'll get lots of enjoyment out of.

The art book is nice, but not £100+ nice! That's enough to keep me in new games for another year!chunkyman wrote...

Asked this in the oblivion area as well. If you have an Item that gives you +5 to a skill and that skill is already say 48 that would give you a 53 in that skill. Would you get the benifits of the Journeyman?
No. You have to actually attain the level to get the benefit. Skill enchantments just make you more effective at doing what you can already do.

Thanks for clearing that up for me as I wasn't sure. Will have to admit that it sounded goo at least.

Really? In my game, when I was an expert (I think. I know I was one away from master) in acrobatics, I couldn't jump off the surface of water, unless I was wearing shrouded armour. Being an expert, I wasn't high enough level to jump off of water, (I think) because my skill wasn't high enough, but I was close. I thought the Shrouded Armour's boost put me up to master, which was why I could jump off of water.chunkyman wrote...

If I remember correctly acrobatics and one other skill were exceptions, but most needed you to actually be that level to get the bonuses. Like boosting your blade skill from 45 to 50 wouldn't give you that sideways power attack, or boosting armorer up to 50 wouldn't allow you to repair magic gear.

Really strongly looking at Argonians. The Argonian mage in the one pic looked disgustingly good.

Seems like you need either good bow skill or spells to fight these dragons anyway....

Don't mind using a bow, Besides with the damage multiplier you get with sneak a bow can be very deadly.
