Sadly, no female Dragonborn. Also my game looks better than the lithograph most of the time ;)

Serana and my character are sporting Felsworn gear and they almost look like sisters. I also modded Serana with sneaking perks so she only rarely blows my cover and never triggers traps. Finally a follower I can stand to have along.

But is your screen larger the 24" X 36" ;)  hmmm well it probably is if you play through your TV :P

But yeah, Bethedsa seems to neglect their females I find.  Never ordered the statue or Wasteland Wander Litho on that basis.  Doesn't at all fit my perceptions of the game.

My display is a Dell 24" 1920x1200 so a bit smaller, but I sit about 24" away from it so it seems pretty large. If they did a Litho of the Rift's autumn trees, or perhaps the Reach's evergreens, I'd consider that. Bleak, snow-covered mountains just don't do it for me. ;)

I'm assuming this is for real...?

Pretty interesting to see the  MS Windows logo there instead of the Xbox one.

I know nothing about nothing, but I can't imagine Microsoft would allow their windows icon to be displayed on a banner in grayscale, rather than full color...and they'd use the Windows 8 logo, if it was legit.

This image looks terrible even at full-size. I call shananigans.

Yeah, where did that image come from? HoonDing, are you trolling us? Posted Image

That's supposed fake Steam entry, in case it's not obvious. Skyrim is Steamworks game on PC.

Well Skyrim certainly isn't lacking for concept art so im sure we will see lots of awesome stuff come along in the future.  There was loads shown in the run up to release. The Rift colours would make for some decent landscape art!  I like your thinking

My imperial archer Adria, she is always sneaking behind Stenvar, Erandur and her dog Eclipse while trying to shoot the enemy and not her followers.

I hear you!  I lost count how many arrows and bolts wound up in the backs of my followers...Serana definitely is the worst culprit .

Interesting you have got decent numers in both 2-handed and 1-handed.  I played a character like that one who just used the most bad-ass looking weapon she just happened to find...was fun to mix things up.

Ever find that sometimes you just do something really nice in game even though it wont notice?
Like dropping Aegisbane back in Clan Shatter-Shields house.

Or like I just did now by hiring Illia on as a Steward for my house.
It just felt like the right thing to do I dont know.

Plus i needed somewhere to sink all the money I am making since I have so many rich fences about.

The casting times of the master skills is soooo annoying. I get it for a spell like Mass Paralysis. The others not so much, especially as they get interrupted if you get hit.

I like the Lightning Storm, I pretend I'm Goku.

Out of stock!  That went fast!

Even more glad I nabbed one now     Fortunatley I already have a frame.  If you want to hang it you need a descent frame setting you back even more then the litho and then you need to border it.

Its an expensive task.

The Master Spell skills aren't meant to be replacements for Expert and Adept spells, their meant to be last resorts which you use only in time of need or opportunity. Think back to all the wizards you know in fiction, think of all their strongest spells, think of how they never used those spells until the right moment or they had no choice but too.

The long casting times and high mana cost on Master Spells are too stop them from being spammed, yes, that much is true, but you don't need to use FireStorm all the time, Incinerate and Fireball are amazing already and more than enough to destroy every foe.

If you are playing as a full mage though, with proper enchantments you can reduce the man cost to a bearable level. My level 81 Pure Mage Breton with over 1000 magicka can cast FireStom for 150 mana, the downside being I only have 200 health and 100 stamina. Though I am tempted to restart and not put any points into health at all and just pour the 100 points I put into health into magicka, but it wouldn't really make that much of a difference, plus, those 100 points + Dragonskin stop me from being OHKO by Deathlord Archers with their OP Ebony Bows.

For those interested and who need advice on how to get the best out of mage I will post below a list of gear I wear on my Pure Mage breton and what enchantments I use for him. You will need 100 in enchanting for this and appropriate perks. I will also add in the spell cost formula at the bottom fot those who want to work out the benefit of each enchanment.

Note:I do NOT use 100% spell cost reduction for any school of magic, it makes the game boring and not challenging at all.

Enchantments:-

Head (Circlet)- 25% Fortify Destruction + 50 Points Fortify Magicka

Neck (Necklace)- 25% Fortify Illusion + 25% Fortify Conjuration

Chest (Archmages Robes)-15% Spell Cost Reduction for All Schools + 100% Magicka Regeneration + 50 Points Fortify Magicka

Hands (Gloves)- 50 Points Fortify Magicka + Carry Weight

Finger (Ring)- 25% Fortify Destruction + 50 Points Fortify Magicka

Feet (Boots)- Muffle + Carry Weight

Overall Spell cost Reduction for each school of magic  taking enchanments into account:-

Destrcution-65%
Illusion-40%
Conjuration-40%
Restoration-15%
Alteration-15%

Spell cost formula:-

Cost = base cost× skill multiplier × perk multiplier × equipment multiplier × dual cast multiplier

For the Skill Multiplier, you need another forumula:-

Skill multiplier = 1 − (skill/400)0.65

At skill level 100(e..g destruction, Alteration etc)  the skill multiplier= 0.5939 or 0.6.

This is a graph showing this on this page

http://www.uesp.net/...:Magic_Overview

Base Cost is just the original mana cost of the Spell.

Perk Multiplier is the cost reduction the Novice/Apprentice/Adept/Expert/Master perks give to the spell.

Equipment Multiplier is the overall cost reduction given by enchanments on gear you wear.

Dual cast multiplier only needs to be added if you plan on dual casting your spells, which i don't recommend, as the amount of mana it take is outrageous, your better off casting the spell individually.

For those confused I will give an example of how the cost works, I will use FireStorm as an example.

Base Cost of Firestom=1426

Skill Multiplier=0.6(For Skill level 100 Destruction)

Perk Multiplier=0.5(For Master Perk in Destruction Tree)

Equipment Multiplier=0.35(65% spell cost for Destruction as stated above)

1426 * 0.6 * 0.5 * 0.35=149.73 or 150 mana. That is how much it will cost to cast FireStorm on my character.

I will use Mass Paralysis as an example now.

Base Cost=937

Skill Multiplier=0.6(For Skill level 100 Alteration)

Perk Multiplier=0.5(For Master Perk in Alteration)

Equipment Multiplier=0.85(15% spell cost reduction for Alteration as stated above)

937 * 0.6 * 0.5 * 0.85= 238.935 or 239 mana. That's how much it would cost me to cast Mass Paralysis.

It's not my most mana draining spell, that honour belongs to Bane of the Undead which costs me 252 mana. I have over 1000 magicka and I rarely use Mass Paralysis and and of the Undead much anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Anyway, I hope this helped someone. :wizard:

I made a pure Mage Breton as my first character. Made a High Elf Mage this morning and it's been fun. That extra Magicka is crazy though.

Haha yeah. The Highborn ability is even more crazy, just wait until you reach the boss in the dungeon, activate it and then mess stuff up. High Elf is OP in Skyrim.

I just used it 20 minutes ago against a Dragon. It was ridiculously awesome.

I'm also doing that no music thing. Which sounded really stupid to me... But I'm liking it. Ambient noises are everywhere. It's nice. Immersive.

Dunno; it appears to scale fairly well, at least away from the Main Quest. Gopher is running his DB; Richard the Librarian thro the DLC somewhere in the 20's. At worst, he loses a lot of gold on rewards (eg; received 1500 gp instead of the 10k I made at 60th). But I do agree that matching up with the MP or Black Books might be best left for later.

Well, I'm not as good at others at RPGs. Between the Draugr and Cultist spam I wasn't doing good in that first dungeon.

So what magic mod do people prefer to use?

So far I have seen three that are really endorsed:
Balanced Magic
Better Magic
Midas Magic

So anyone use those mods or have others they use?

I'm a console peasant scrub lowlife, so no mods for me.
