Hmmm skyrim mods... Any idea what your specs will be?IllusiveManJr wrote...
I'll be switching to PC this summer and I'm very excited to get mods for New Vegas and Skyrim. Two of my favorite games.

So what magic mod do people prefer to use?
So far I have seen three that are really endorsed:
Balanced Magic
Better Magic
Midas Magic
So anyone use those mods or have others they use?

How is that magic duel mod? It looked sweet. But I could see it getting old fast.
Ok, my totally individual, totally opinionated view on this subject is this:Elhanan wrote...
Extremely Vanilla Destruction Revamp (increases bonus perks)
Exalted Magic - Indefinite Buffs (keeps some spells on until released, like DA series; reduces Mana reserves)

Ok, my totally individual, totally opinionated view on this subject is this:
1) Mods that allow offensive based spells (think: destruction spells) to scale upwards are OK. since this game's enemy mages' destruction spells certainly do, and also because, lets face it, Bethesda dropped the ball on the destruction school. It's so nerfed and underpowered that a pure destruction build is practically un-viable
2) Mods that enhance/empower offensive/defensive spell perks are OK as well, for the same reason as #1
3) But Mods that turn activated/duration-based spells into sustains? No. I draw the line there. It's cheating. You're breaking the game's entire magic, race and combat system. From the ground up, in fact.
You might as well just fire up the console and make yourself essential.

think I'll go do the Companions questline now. It kinda sucks that you're forced into becoming a werewolf in order to progress the storyline. I would much rather remain a vampire.

Just completed Dawnguard and sided with the vampires. My female Nord looks really cool with those glowing eyes. I play as a stealthy archer and I really need to develop my melee skills. You can summon a werebear by using the Beast Stone power, but you can't become one yourself. That would have been pretty cool.Ballistic Rebel wrote...

Speaking about werewolves, how do I become a werebear? You can become a werewolf from the Companions storyline but not werebear? I've tried all options in Solstheim and never experienced it.
Will I lost any points that I've invested in the Vampire Lord perk tree?Elhanan wrote...

As I understand, if you desire to regain Vampiric status afterwards, simply revisit Serana for another bite....
Also, one may join the Companions and skip the lycanthrope initiation. You will not become the Harbinger, but still have access to the Sky Forge, rooms, etc.

It doubles the fun coming from magic for me, I hated magic until I installed that mod.IllusiveManJr wrote...

Massive disappointment regarding werebears. Our only hope is it will come as a future addon.happy_daiz wrote...
