Hope to take some screenshots this weekend. Have seen some beautiful scenes lately and keep forgetting to take shots of them.

Whirlwhind Cloak.
Seeing your foes flying through the air is HILARIOUS.
Annoying to get though,I had to do a lot of radiant stuff for Neloth.

Are the vampires in Skyrim technically dead or is it just an infection?LobselVith8 wrote...
Given the discussion that transpired a few months back about the possibility of Volkihar vampires not having souls (per Falion's dialogue), I was wondering if this possibility would exempt the Dragonborn from the pact that Karliah has the protagonist make with Nocturnal (when the Dragonborn becomes a Nightingale), since a vampiric protagonist may not have a soul, and is already dead during the inception of the deal.

The "detect dead" spell and the comments from various characters would suggest that a vampire is technically dead. It's also commented as the reason why you can't get your facial features altered as a vampire.

Yep, like a disease. Unlike werewolves/werebears, lycanthropy is a curse.LPPrince wrote...
Closer to infection, since vampirism can be contracted and cured.

It would explain the pale skin and such. The part that's not really explained is what happens after vampirism sets in. Does the host die and then come back as a reanimated corpse? With all the books in this damn game, I half expected there to be something on vampires and how the infection works or at least some theories.LobselVith8 wrote...

I suspect it's different depending on the vampire clan. A "reanimated corpse" is how vampirism was described in the early Elder Scrolls games. In Daggerfall, you literally died and came back to life, with the guilds you were currently affiliated with considering you dead. Vampire lore regards them as one of the undead.

Entering the Soul Cairn answered a fair few questions regarding this during the Dawnguard DLC. If you had a soul you could not enter and had to be partially Soul Trapped. Serana even went so far in saying that you were undead because you did not have a soul and therefore could freely enter and exit. Where is the Dragonborn's soul when you're a Vampire? Im assuming it lurks somewhere in Cold Harbor but this hasn't been answered. Suffice to say you are undead.
Except one can be cured via Lycanthropy; thus I believe Vampirism is more of a disease that may anchor the soul elsewhere. Personally, I relish the Battle Royale for the soul after that DB has passed....

Interesting. I didn't know that. So, I guess I'll have to become a vampire again at some point to finish exploring the Soul Carin.Captain Crash wrote...

God some are so annoying to get.
At least Dragonborn did not have any like the Vampire/Werewolf perk tree.
Those were FREAKING annoying.

When I was doing those, I actually killed way too many people and creatures as a werewolf, and didn't return to human form until a real life hour after I scored the achievement for the werewolf perks.
My friend was laughing his ass off every time I brought up how long it was taking while I spoke to him on Live. I let my character just stand there as a werewolf in the wild for what felt like forever until FINNAAALLLLY

Ancient and powerful magical ability that lets you shape reality.
And cheat at playing games with your kids.
Without even noticing I used Whirlwhind Sprint to win in tag.
Then used Aura Whisper to win at hide and seek.
PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER! Plus a great aid in beating your kids at games.
I wonder how many other ways you could use the Thu'um in every day life?

My Argonian mage now can use Fire Storm as a direct cast and not from a scroll. I believe its 150 pts (it may be 115, I forget) of fire damage, with maximum damage being inflicted on nearby targets. I'll probably use stop time in conjunction with this to assist in the waving-arms casting loadup.
Role-playing strictly as a mage for 260 hours now, the text in the book after completion and the quest itself was really satisfying.
