For those who use Ultimate Follower Overhaul, is there a trick to dismiss the newer hearthfire and Dawnguard followers? I tell them they are dismissed, they say goodbye, yet never leave. I even tried the console command set playerfollowercount to 0 and they are still there.
Do not utilize the mod myself, but have read a few recommendations for Amazing Follower Tweaks as a less annoying mod choice. As for UFO, perhaps asking them to Wait, and then leaving them wherever might do the trick.

UFO should have a patch for Dawnguard, it worked moderately well on Serena... of course there was that one time she started rolling in place and hitting air while skeletons kept taking pot shots at her. Dunno about Hearthfire though, never got it, seemed more trouble than it was worth.
Personal opinion. Companions are more trouble than they're worth. Use conjuration magic. Relatively simple for fighters, mages and sneaks to get up thanks to bound weapons.

Have to agree from a stealthy point of view. I modded Serana to not set off pressure plates and whatnot, yet she still happily breaks tripwires and blows my cover before the enemy detects me. Best use of a companion in this case, imo, is to marry one capable of providing merchant services.Ziegrif wrote...

Once Farkas got stuck in a door the enemy did not react to him at all.
Could not get past, did not want to alert the enemy.
Solution: Quiet Casting perk + Fus Roh Dah at Farkas. (No detection by enemy for Dragon shouts.)
Least the enemy took Farkas as the aggro dump and I got free shots at the Draugr and what not.
OH! And then there was that one time I summoned Lucien Lachance and got sick of him in about 10 minutes and killed him. Who knew one of the greatest assassins of the third era WOULD NOT SHUT UP.

I do like to adventure on my own, but I'm using an increased spawns/difficulty mod that makes some of the dungeons almost impossible to finish alone without very gamey tactics. Plus I occasionally like to have some company..

Annoying, get in the way, set off traps, dont really feel useful.
They are good for carrying my burdens and not much else.
Going solo works better.
I think FONV did it much better anyway.
Fewer followers, but much more depth.
Could be I just miss Craig Boone.

Bethesda needs to say something.
Their boards are pretty quiet except for some parts.
I for one just am playing CIV 5.

Isn't the next DLC rumored to take place in Hammerfell?
That's what they say, we'll find out some day.

Even a Bethesda game can get stale after a while.
Takes a long ass time, but it happens.
Now to go back to pwning Atilla the Hun as Maria Theresa.

I hope they say something soon, I don't like waiting and it don't matter to me if its the last DLC or whatever, it just seems like Skyrim is still missing one more DLC and I hope it is the biggest one yet and that it involves Thalmor in a LARGE capacity and by that I don't mean Great War #2 but maybe just the beginning of it.

I've been toying around with mods lately, and I think I've finally found the 2 armor mods that I really REALLY like. Check it out:
(my character and his waifu Serana, both vampires)
Looks good. Names for the mods?
Sure. Here's a list with all the mods you can see in the screenshot:
Graphics and Texture mods:
- Superb ENB-RL
- Relight Skyrim
- Imaginator
- Skyrim HD 2K Texture Pack
Character Face and Body mods:
- CBBE v3 (curvy)
- Mature Skin (CBBE)
- Underworld Vampire Eyes
- High Res Male Vampire Face Textures
- Serana Restyled
Armor mods:
- Lustmord Vampire Armor (curvy)
- Arise - Chapter 1 - The Black Sacrament (unholy)
Animation mods:
- YY Anim Replacer - Mystic Knight
Serana wears a combination of Lustmord Vampire armor and a cowl + veil from the Black Sacrament armor.
My character wears Black Sacrament armor pieces only.
I also have the Marriageable Serana mod, which allowed my character to marry Serana. It's quite a good mod actually and the voices are quite well done. It re-uses and re-mixes voice-clips from the original Serana voice-actor to create new romance dialogue with her, and it's really well done.

Defending Day 1 DLC.
Eh at least Bethesda does not do on disc DLC (Capcom) or rip something out only to charge extra for it (EA).
As much as I dont like some of Bethesda's practices at least they are not EA.
