I find it disgusting how they are ending the story by making you Mora's ****.

I mean really?
Then the Dragonborn became a servant of Daedra! The End.
That is how Skyrim ends?

That's disappointing to hear, especially when the Champion of Cyrodiil ended his ventures in the Shivering Isles and by becoming the new Madgod. The Dragonborn's story isn't even over with the defeat of Miraak, and the danger that is posed by Mora. I was hoping to have my Dragonborn venture to Hammerfell, or take down the Thalmor again.

Understandable.  But the only thing leaping out to me in this is the fact this guy has played 2000 hours?!  (and close to 3000 hours on both Fallout 3 and NV individually!)  Thats insane!!

:o

Would I be playing to stereotypes if I say he hasn't got a girlfriend :innocent:

Wow. That's seriously disappointing. I feel Skyrim needed another expansion or two.

Although always look on the bright side of life I guess. I can get Skyrim on the PC this summer instead of next year like I thought I would. And after Mothership Zeta, I would prefer no DLC over something forced.

PS Does anyone know of the MMO had an effect on their decision?

I am more concerned that this may be the end of Patches and support for Skyrim. Has this been an issue for past TES games?

“Even though we’re moving on, we’ll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed."

They also mentioned that the team is working full time on the next game so I wouldn't expect any major patches. God I'm unreasonably annoyed at this.

They said they will still support it with patches when necessary. I can't see them actually fixing much more though, if they haven't fixed it by now...

And then Skyrim ended with a fart. Really, Bethesda is ending Skyrim with Dragonborn? Just wow.

Because leaving a story unfinished is great right?

hmm, so if there will be no more DLCs, than did we ever find out what the Redguard business was all about? i imagine it had something to do with the old TES Redguard game...

Yes, Pete Hines said on Twitter that his tweet in December saying they were working on more Skyrim content was for the 1.9 patch with Legendary whatever, and PS3 DLC.

I'm pretty much done playing Skyrim since I was only playing for the DLCs anyway.  Of course I got my money's worth for the game, but the fact that there was no real story arc for the Dragonborn, just a lot of loose ends dangling out in the air like Herma Mora tentacles, is a really sour note for a good game.  Compared to Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas that makes Skyrim the redheaded stepchild, which makes no sense considering its success.

Of course, it does make sense:  A big MMO boondoggle and rush to get a next gen title.  Should be a familiar story to Bioware fans.

Sounds like the issue is with dragonborn (which I haven't played yet) rather than no more DLC, it got 2 expansions and another minor one. Thats pretty much par for the course for any title.

Not the fans; just those claiming to be....

Still having a great time exploring, though I have to break my own habits of linear play style (ie; tend to perform the same series of quests though not forced simply because of efficiency, story flow, etc).

Dragonborn and Dawnguard where not expansions and only Dawnguard was truly enjoyable. Dragonborn was just a side quest dlc that reused a old map and made a few changes and put a horrible main story. This is crap compared to Shivering Isles, Broken Steel and Lonesome Road.

Also those three games concluded the character good, Skyrim is left with loose ends and many things unexplained and Skyrim ends with the Dragonborn being Moras plaything. Yes this is a great way to end the game.

Really, out of the three Bs, I don't know who is disapointing me more. Bethesda, Blizzard or Bioware.

I'm... sad.
I love Skyrim.
A lot.
Very much.
I wanted to demolish the Thalmor...
I wanted to become the 10th divine...
I wanted to consort with more Daedra.

It just feels so damn unfinished.

They better be making Fallout 4. D:
Or some other sandbox game.

Hmm. I would've liked there to be another DLC, but I'm not necessarily upset about there not being one.

The way I see it, Skyrim is your universe. Dragonborn can be played at almost whatever time the player feels like. So for my character, it doesn't end with me as a servant of Mora. It could end as being a vanquisher of vampires, saving the world from Alduin, or preventing the Eye of Magnus being released upon the world.

That's the great thing about Skyrim: everything you do is yours. So don't be so bleak about it; go kick some Daedric butt.

I'm sorry but no. You can still have your own character and still have a dlc that resolves things and does not leave more lose ends then Moras tentcles. NV did it, FO3 did it and Oblivion did it. SKyrim could do it, but Bethesda won't and we all know why. It's called that poc aka ESO.

That's very sad. I was so hoping for an Thalmor war DLC, I just wanted one final blaze of glory for the dragonborn. That's... that's just disapponting. All other bethesda games had great resolution with their DLC. Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout NV, so why Skyrim can't have it as well? Can't help it but feel that Skyrim will be left somewhat... unfinished.

I know, I know. I'm just saying that this is my reasoning to make myself feel better about them not putting out any more DLC. There's still a ton of stuff for me to do anyways.

Exactly.  This puts Skyrim at the bottom of the heap for Bethesda in terms of overall story and specifically the DLC support- when it should have been at the top.  It's still one of the most played games on Steam.  Whereas the DLC elevated and tied together the base game in Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas, DG and DB were weak and disjointed and ultimately unsatisfying.  I don't think they hurt the base game, they didn't help with its flaws, either.

I think it's not just TESO, however.  I'm going to lay down money now that Microsoft is putting pressure on them to have Fallout 4 release as one of the next gen Xbox flagship titles.  It's their deal with the devil again.
