Makes you wonder.... What "Big Project" could they possibly be working on that would *trump* continued content support for the bar-none biggest selling cash cow they have ever created? Whatever it is, it must be massive indeed.

I think it's not just TESO, however. I'm going to lay down money now that Microsoft is putting pressure on them to have Fallout 4 release as one of the next gen Xbox flagship titles. It's their deal with the devil again.
TESO looks like a trainwreck and has since they announced it, quite frankly. I wouldn't be surprised if they are rushing Fallout 4 or whatever next big thing they're working on though, for either nextgen launch this Fall or maybe release early next year.

With my skyforged sword shoved into Miraak's netherregions and Alduin defeated soundly, I don't think it is unfinished. I went on some great adventures, explored new lands, and ascended to power from a weak prisoner.Mr.House wrote...

I find it disgusting how they are ending the story by making you Mora's ****.
I mean really?
Then the Dragonborn became a servant of Daedra! The End.
That is how Skyrim ends?
they choose not to release another expansion for a game
how dare they.
I would have gotten another story DLC for Skyrim if they made it, but all of this talk about Bethesda 'letting' people down because they chose not to make another DLC when they hadn't promised another DLC seems a little (should I say it?)

I can go on, also you know the fate of the Dragonborn being a plaything for Mora there is no closure unlike Oblivion, FO3 and NV. Keep on defending stupid choices from Bethsda who is no better then Blizzard and Bioware right now.

I can go back to Skyrim at any point and enjoy just wandering around and talking to people.
Whats gonna suck is when I finally put down Skyrim for the next Elder Scrolls game. So many memories, by then it'll sink in and I may get emotional.

I imagine we would get an answer for that when ES6 comes out. That's generally how games workMr.House wrote...

What, have conflicts that were set up be resolved in a future game?Mr.House wrote...

Truth is, Parthy will probably have been killed and the blades will be in future Elder Scrolls games
and I'm pretty sure that it was foreshadowed there would be another war no matter the outcome of the civil war
So excuse me if I do not join in on denouncing a dev when they choose to move resources into a new game after giving such an awesome game that is Skyrim
you are free to you opinion Mr. House

It's not typical for games to resolve themselves upon a future release, it's assinine and annoying.

Well for the most part it's never comfirmed Alduin truly dies. His soul is not abosorbed and when you ask about this, the people you ask say it's possible he is not dead. So the fact that even in game there is uncertainty that Alduin is dead just makes it worse. You can like Skyrim all you want. Does not change the fact Bethesda left it unfinished and the reasons for doing it are balant and stupid.Sajuro wrote...

You seem to have forgotten the part where he may appear at the end of time to complete his destiny. World eater; game over.

Just my opinion here, but that seems like complaining for the sake of it.
If Mass Effect 3 ended with The Reapers supposedly being destroyed, with the hint that they may come back thousands upon thousands of years down the line to try reaping again, I would've been okay with that. Fact is- we stopped the Reapers.
Skyrim's main plot ended with Alduin being defeated- which was the point. Is he gone forever? Maybe, maybe not. But we accomplished our goal.
In my opinion, Skyrim is very much finished. It was finished when it came out on 11/11/11. The extra DLCs added a ton of nice additions for me to salivate over. I would've liked one more, but I'm not going to say the game was unfinished just because I didn't get that last one, or because the main quest's final boss may not have been completely wiped from existence.
But I guess its all a matter of perspective and opinion anyway, so yours isn't wrong and is as valid as my own.

I'm sad, but I'm also hopeful. If they're working on Fallout 4, all is right with the world.

Pretty much. Bethesda did this so poorly. If Dragonborn was going to be the last dlc, they should have said so. Not wait for over four months and tyhen say lol no more dlc, now go buy our next product when it comes outSplinter Cell 108 wrote...
The reason they did this really makes it all worse. It's probably related to TESO, and I'm pretty sure they had been doing something but I'm pretty sure the suits were the ones cut it short, unless they decided to do nothing for 4 months which I doubt. This is really disappointing and if it is about Fallout 4, even more disappointing because I doubt that game will feel be as good as FO:NV.
Had I knowen that Skyrim was going to be another unfinished fill in the blanks with all our loose ends we refuse to fill game, I would not have even bothered. Already uninstalled the game from my computer, highly doubt I'll return to it unless a very good mod comes out.

^ I agree with you. Skyrim was definitely "complete" the day it was released. The DLC simply added more replay value to an already spectacular game...it should go without saying, but in my opinion.

Total sidenote (apologies), but I actually sat through the pilot of Defiance last night, and at the very end, they played a song that I could have sworn was from Fallout 3. The environment, the story, everything just totally put me in the Capital Wasteland in that moment. I was hearing Ron Perlman in my head: War...war never changes...
I wouldn't complain if they were working on the next TES, either.

Somebody either didn't play the game after Alduin's "defeat" or pay attention.

Anyways, can I change the subject for a second? In terms of the next TES game, I'd like to know a bit more about both Summerset Isle and Atmora. Especially Atmora. I know pretty much nothing about that place, except that humans apparently originated from there.
Also, do you think the next gen consoles will be powerful enough to have a game set across all of Tamriel at once?
