So, umm, that's it?
Well, that was unexpected. Was also hoping for some more epic DLC action.

But still, Skyrim is my 3rd most played game ever (after Neverwinter Nights and NWN2), so I definately got a lot of bang for my buck. Can't complain, really.

Guess I need to play through Dragonborn (recently started) and then kiss Skyrim goodbye. Or maybe visit the Greybeards and play the main questline, get some shouts, etc. with my highest level dragonborn vampire yet (lvl 65)? Decisions, decisions....

Dawnguard gave me that same amazing sidekick, crossbows, and a few absolutely BEAUTIFUL new areas to explore.

Yeah, despite the illusory choice (you always end in the same quests, fighting Harkon and Vythur), Dawnguard was really surprisingly epic and good. The size and scope a of certain quests/areas.... OMG!

Serena is a great companion, crossbows rock and the Royal Vampire Armor is awesome as well!
Finally a light armor worth wearing for an caster/archer stealth hybrid! Combined with Morokei it provides very good Magicka regen. And it looks badass too!

That being said, I also dig Dragonborn's atmosphere so far.

I did not care to rhyme, 'tis true, this news has made me feel quite blue
But although Skyrim's time is gone, I shall not mourn this news for long
For there are other games to play, and I shall play Skyrim again someday
But until that day, no Skyrim for me, these are the words of...

...the Grand Oak Tree.

Aww, this makes me sad. Dang it, Bethesda.

I am still crossing my fingers that their NA studio is working on the next Fallout in stealth mode...

*Grumble* I built my first Hearthfire house (Windstad manor) and just brought Njada Stonearm to become my steward. After several mysterious CTDs, I succeeded. I went back outside, to be greeted by a group of three very tough bandits. I died at least five times fighting them. One time I reloaded because I believed I accidentally shield-bashed Njada and killed her, but in later attempts she is actually killed by the bandits - no friendly fire from me. Do stewards not drop to one knee anymore?

I've never had that happen. Sorry, I'm not much help.

I usually just do Lakeview Manor, and I'm convinced that Rayya is bulletproof.

Ach i dont know, go away for awhile an come back to an announcement about no more skyrim content, i am one sad panda,no mating this year for me.

Is it just me, am i the only one who feels they created a great game an filled it with the crapiest content? factions that dont matter, quests that dont matter, guilds that dont matter, nothing matters, am i wanting to much? civil war?? what civil war??

All i wanted was things to matter, choices that done something, made an impact, they created this beautiful world an filled it with wonderful enemies but done nothing else.

Ach i think im expecting to much from games in my old age tbh.

One a side note i fought the ebony warrior, now he was one tough son of a deadra, then i ran into a bone dragon an died an had forgot to save so i ate my slipper.

I will be defer looking at the next Elder Scroll title and the MMO but i sure as hell hope they up consequence/impact factors of your choices atleast 200%

Oh picked up Oblivion to try out, sheesh who in hell designed that UI an inventory system an the damn keys are everywhere, cannae see me playing it long prob just go back to skyrim an continue wandering

I've had a steward die.  If they are not essential, it's a real possibility.  My guess is the knee-drop routine is a script specifically for those followers that are currently assigned to you.

If you have an AMD graphics card of the 7000 series then download the new 13.4 drivers from their site. They have improved the latency for Skyrim (and some other games). So far the game runs very smooth. Don't forget to install the 13.4 CAP file as well.

The improvement is not about higher frame rates, but to make the games smoother. I.e., less stutter (and less micro stutter when using Crossfire). So far I experience no (micro) stutter in Skyrim. Very cool.

Hmm, I reloaded once more and this time turned into a werewolf inside my house then went outside to fight the bandits. This time I did see my steward drop to one knee at some point and she made it out alive. Not sure what went wrong the previous times then. But it turns out I built Windstad manor pretty much for nothing.=] I went to Windhelm to adopt Sofie, and when she asked if I had a place where she could live I could only answer that I had a place in Windhelm, even though I have a children's bed and chest in Windstad. Ah well, I was already torn between Hjerim and Windstad. As a true Nord, my Dragonborn pretty much has to live in the city of Ulfric Stormcloak.:P Although I suddenly wasn't welcome there either... many of the guards mysteriously turned hostile without reason, as did Ulfric and his steward every time I went inside the palace. Stupid glitch. Waiting ouside the city for 24 hours fixed it, fortunately.

Skyrim Legendary Edition

Might pick this up after a price drop so my kids can play all the DLC on their console downstairs.

My stepbrother's been waiting for something like this since 2011, so I imagine he'll lap it up pretty quickly.

Well I have something to buy for my birthday. PC version should be fun.

And the Bethesda community confuses me. Some people are complaining about the fact that it's only DLC and there should be more when Bethesda have been doing this editions for years now. Selective memory loss?

Guess I'll buy legendary edition for an full playthrough with my main nord once it's out. One final blaze of glory eh? My only regrets is not being able to refuse some certain questlnes (namely the daedra ones), not being able to marry Serana and never having an final DLC were you repel the Thalmor invasion. Oh well...

My Stormcloak lives in the Falkreath house with Ulfric and her gaggle of war orphans.  It doesn't get more Stormcloak than that.

This is a transcript of a GDC talk by a Skyrim level designer, on Bethesda's process.  It's long and technical, but still fascinating.  It also gives a glimpse on how difficult it is to design their type of game and how they've mastered their workflow so that it "only" takes a few years to make one of their games.  Puts the bugs in perspective, as well.

It makes me wonder how CD Projekt's first foray in open world games will turn out.

I have faith in CDPR. They have similar values to Bethesda in the sense of having a small team, doing everything in house, giving lots of value in a game. The RED Engine also seems pretty powerful.
