Well, the glorious console master race is about to upgrade to legendary perks soon, so then we can enjoy some moar eye candy with our glorious PC master race brethren.

I do hope the new consoles kick ass. If they do then the ports to the PC are likely to be of better quality. :)

It has been the intention of Beth to allow mods on consoles too. Unfortunately MS and Sony didn't cooperate this time. I hope the console master race can enjoy them on the new consoles and the next TES. ;)

Speaking of stunning visuals, this is one of my favorite shots from my games:

Niiiiiiice. Really like your Normandy Litho too and, of course, your Liara statuette.

I happen to play games for gameplay

if I wanted a story I would read a book. I guess Skyrim does offer a fantasy world simulator that most other games do not showcase

ironically, Skyrim has better storytelling than Dragon Age since it's told through gameplay, but Dragon age has better combat than Skyrim

And Skyrim doesn't have this?

As would I. Or I could play a game, watch a TV show/film or even go on the Internet. I don't see why storytelling has to be restricted to books.

Wait when did the way it's expressed determine if the storytelling is better?

PS Is GreenGoron back? I'm sure I saw him post several pages back.

That's like disregarding your wife because she has a hotter sister who also works out and somehow retains a perfect ass even after eating a box of pizza every day.

Yeah, that's rich. Is that "Beautiful Whiterun", "Pines of Whiterun" or another?

It's "Towns and Villages Enhanced: Whiterun". I also have those installed for the other towns and villages.

They seem random. You could stand out by the stables at Whiterun at night, and watch the sky for a while, and eventually, there would be an aurora borealis. I've seen many right outside Markarth. I always liked standing right in front of the door of Vlindrel Hall, watching them, as it was a great view.

I think it needs to be a clear sky, though - not cloudy.

Good screenshots all around. :)

For me the auroras a) happen at night and B) require more or less clear skies to have a chance of appearing. Since I'm part of the PC crowd, I can always use the console commands to get a clear sky for some aurora viewing.

Been wanting to add some good landscape mods on again. I dropped some a while back to clean up my game, since I was having a glitch show up from time to time. I always had an issue in Riverwood for some reason (game would freeze upon entry), and I isolated it down to whatever Riverwood enhancement mod I had on at the time.

Do you see any lag or frame rate drop when walking through the wilds with these on?

I have maxed out my settings. I did it to see people and patrols in the distance (character fade--which led to everything else fade), since I have "More NPCs in the Wild" and was getting tired of being jumped.

God do I love The Rift.

I prefer Haafingar, the Reach and Wintherhold to be honest, never did find the appeal to the Rift that everyone else seems to have.

Fun fact I've abused for hundreds of hours- If its night time and there's no aurora in the sky, use the Clear Skies shout.

Instant Northern Lights. You can force them whenever you want.

See, now thats a mod I wish the Glorious Console Master Race could use, I'd definitely have that on.

I am the wrong person to ask about frame rate penalties. I am using V-sync and I have an above average and overclocked machine. So I never noticed any frame rate drops.

Ghehe. It really is a nice mod. It just adds detail and doesn't interfere with gameplay.

Mods that add more or richer vegetation do make ambushes more fun. Especially when I am the one being ambushed. :P

Another mod that I use adds better textures to common things in the game. It really looks great. However, the creator of that mod went over the top in some cases. The tomatoes in Skyrim already looked red enough, but for some reason he decided to make it more red than would be safe for the eyes. ;)
