Sympathy4saren- So than were not even going to be able to pick our own type of charcter for which we want to run? Like say a Dunmar, or Elf for example? And to think just when I get a game all figured out they go and change things on me and I've got to learn it all over again. Well I guess I can scratch my idea of what I was going to run. Might have to save that character idea for another run through on Oblivion.

Huh? Where did you get that conclusion from? Racial selection is still in. You just don't pick your character type anymore like Barbarian, Battle Mage, etc. Its more organic now and you just play how you want to play.

Sorry my mistake on that there. I the way I had read a previous post thought that you were stuck with a certain PC like the way it's set up in The Witcher series. One for which I didn't notice was Dunmar<Dunmer> are they out? Or did I miss them in all of them pics? Image IPB

I'm gonna have to play this game 10 times to try all the races!

That would take years, I think.

Dunmers look quite a bit more Morrowindish. Interesting.

I believe that my first race is going to be nord, looks pretty good to me.

You rednecks and your bizarre conclusions. Nope you still create your own character. :wizard:

Dunmer are still in. Naughty's post at the top of this page has links to them.

I'm gonna go Bosmer, but they are so ugly this time D:

Legolas is not ugly :(

EDIT: The Argonions look incredible! I might be swayed.

Eh. Not too impressed with Bretons. Nothing really distinctive in appearance.

I'm just ecstatic about the fact that we can actually tell them apart from Imperials this time.

I like the looks so far. Much much better than what was in Oblivion. The detail is great. But, overall, I think the facial structures, especailly on the Argos, look too similar, but not bad at all. Fortunately (hear this Bioware), modding will allows for many more looks too !

You can still tweak him or her. IMO, most of the male presets in DA II are ugly, but there are a lot of handsome custom Hawkes. That said, we don't know if Skyrim's CC will have the same depht as DA2's.

Seriously?

In Oblivion they were practically identical.

Some people had to guess which ones were Bretons because they were shorter and they somehow knew that the male voice actor was different. Even the female voice actress was the same for Bretons and Imperials, however.

I played Oblivion for years and never had a clue that Jauffre was a Breton.

Now I can finally tell them apart when I see them on the street.

It maybe be just the skin texture, but I'm seeing chest hair in the preset pictures?

Here is a link with the presets of all the races.

Very nice. They do look distinct though now, which is so much better than Oblivion. (I had to rely on voice actors alot, and when it came to female Bretons and Imperials, I just guessed based on hair colour..)

They should fix their poll though; it asks which is the first race people will play, but lists Dwemer, not Dunmer (I know it's a small, trivial detail, but still). Didn't the Dwemer mysteriously? Or, am I completely confused on the lore?

Def better than Oblivion.  But i wasn't using that as a comparison.

Naughty you say you're going to play through Skyrim 10 times. You've yet to make it all the way through Oblivion? <LOL> Thanks for posting the links for the Dunmar. Are the birth signs going to be in place in Skyrim or are they gone as well?

Gone. You could get most of the effect in the game by alchemy or spells, anyway.

Oh, I see.

I was also hoping for a bit greater differentiation, subtle influence of Mer-ish features and bone structure, perhaps slightly pointed ears, but I'm just ecstatic that they don't look 100% identical.

Same I assumed he was an Imperial.
