Things are slowing way down, and soon enough it will vanish.
Ah good times while it lasted I guess, but you cant keep something going without new stuff I guess.

Yep. I'm no advocate of milking something dry, but Skyrim needed 1 more DLC and with the game still going relatively strong, I'm sure it is something Bethesda and its fans would have both profited from. So what the next RPG people are looking forward too?
Cyberpunk for me, even if it is going to take a while for it to release. I'll keep an eye on Fallout 4, provided they announce it, and hopefully but I doubt it will be made by Obsidian and not Bethesda. I'm not sure if I'll get it or not and that might change my mind about it. It's too bad those games are so far away though.

There was a time when I would have said Inquisition, ME4, or anything made by Bioware, but now...well...I'll just show a bit of courtesy to our hosts and remain silent since all has been said anyway, and they're going to "make the game they want to make" as has been driven into these discussions like nails over the past couple of years.
Here's my view on Bethesda: at least (in my mind of course) they are showing an upward curve in improvement from one game iteration to the next. I adored New Vegas; still do. Still play it with add-ons like New Vegas Bounties and other fantastic mods. But what I'm really hoping for, while Obsidian is off making Project Eternity, is the same level of improvement from FO3 to FO4 as they've showed from Oblivion to Skyrim. You gotta admit, the massive success of Skyrim was something to behold for a game in the RPG genre.
Here's to hoping they can do THAT in the Fallout universe!...without a copy/paste from Skyrim of course. I've already stated in Brock's FO4 thread what I hope they sustain from NV. Judging from the Bethsoft forums, I'm not alone, and if any large studio will listen, I think Bethesda will. If they can get to half of what Obsidian was able to do in NV, and add a bit of what they learned from Skyrim, they'll win in my book.
Look on the bright side, or worst case, for FO4: Bethesda, unlike other shortsighted companies and developers being run by boardroom drones with asses the shapes of the seats of their chairs, with no more vision than what a PowerPoint slide and balance sheet show them (but I digress), still heavily and graciously supports their modding community. Even if FO4 sucks (and I don't think it will) the modding community will fix it, or make it better. At least there is a vigorous modding community that'll still show up for them.

Fallout 4. Seriously. Nothing else on the horizon excites me.

I think I'm buying it anyway, these days I don't really play anything else aside from Bethesda games, everything else seems boring, overrated, oversimplified, too flashy and not long enough. I hope they learned from FONV and I hope they put whatever they learned into it. In fact I'm also hoping they announce FO4 this year, that's how bad I want it.

I agree wholeheartedly - there was a lot left unsaid and undone in Skyrim that Bethesda had the opportunity for resolve, but chose not to... and that will always be on my mind whenever I play it in the future.
It sounds strange to say this, but I'm actually interested in the development of DA:I. I would love nothing more than for the game to be good, and will keep an eye out for tidbits of information as well as the reveal at E3.

Shadowrun Returns is just around the corner. Hard to say if it will be great or not... but definately has potential. I love the fact that it's turn-based... and the combat looks pretty interesting.
Other then that... there are other Kickstarter projects with great potential... though there is a flop risk as well, of course.
Wasteland 2 and Divinity: Original Sin are due still in 2013...

Project Eternity will be the next RPG that gets my attention. And we're almost there, relatively speaking. It's slated to be released in less than a year.
As for Skyrim... It's absolutely mind boggling that they've dropped support for it. The game Generated $845 MILLION. If I was a CEO of a company who's product generated $845 million, I'd do anything - anything at all, to try and break the $1 billion mark. Bethesda... man, I can't believe them. They *could* have done it. Skyrim is still a hot commodity, and one or two more major DLCs and some creative marketting might very well have pushed them over the top.
Then again, they're a privately owned company, so there's no board of investors pressuring them to try and hit that Billion dollar plateau

Base Skyrim is still £20 on Amazon, meaning that it is actually much, much, MUCH more financially viable to buy the Legendary Edition then it is to buy the base game and DLC separately. To get the DLC alone would cost someone in the UK £30.60, never mind the base game at £20. Even if the DLC sold at half price on Xbox Live the Legendary Edition would still be cheaper
Legendary Edition: £30
Base game + DLC half price and separately; £35.30
Base game + DLC separately: £50.60
The Legendary Edition is the bargain of the century.

Ironic that this is the one aspect where a board of directors would have added to the overall qaulity of a product.

Probably Fallout 4, and the next TES.
I would have also said Remember Me and The Last of Us, but I guess technically they're not RPGs.
I'm having a ball with Dark Arisen atm. Blasphemy, I know.

Also, sort of an RPG as far as story modes go, I'm enjoying GW2 at the moment. It's been decades since I enjoyed playing with other people in a multiplayer game; I'm having a blast.

He was trained by a Female Orc, who was his mentor, in smithing and combat. She always preferred a mace or axe, as does he. He picked up Alchemy from an old friend.
He is more or less searching for meaning, and an answer to his questions about why Tamriel is in such a chaotic state. If he can find an honorable death along the way, so be it.
He has a generous nature and harbors nor grudges other than a slight resentment towards Thalmor and Imperials.
Jaster believes in helping those who ask for it and doing no harm... unless he is insulted or threatened.
He believes the Empire must be disbanded and the elves become an ally to his people. He wants to open a smithy, if he outlasts his enemies that is.
