I've always had Skyrim on xbox but got Steam 3 weeks ago. With that I got Skyrim and decked it out with mods like no other. So much fun with all the different mods that add new quests, graphics, characters, weapons, and so on.

Yep, I had 500 hours in Skyrim on my 360. Decided on a whim to buy it off Steam since word of mouth was mods were easy to use through the Steam WS. So I said what they hey. Never touched it again on my XBOX...couldn't. I'm a total spoiled jack**** now. I've modded and re-modded my game so much, that it has become my new normal.  Never thought I'd say that.  I simply had no idea what I was missing. It was like a whole new game and extended the life of it by triple that original 500 hours...and I'm still playing it!

Nice looking game by the way.  Let's see, I'm seeing (what?) Improved Cities-Riften, Apachii SkyHair, Lush grass and Vegetation, and Bellas Better Fems, or some other hot chick mod...amiright?

Get ready, if you think Skyrim ate your time on console, you haven't seen anything yet! Enjoy!

Same thing happened to me, in fact Skyrim and New Vegas in general were part of the reasons as to why I abandoned the xbox, that and because consoles limit your freedom with what you can do to and with games. Besides, the next console generation really doesn't sound all that nice or appearling to me, especially if it won't allow me to play New Vegas or Skyrim due to no backwards compatibility. I can also say that I haven't ever touched my 360 skyrim copy since I got my PC.

Yeah I have a lot of mods installed and the character in the picture is a new race mod called succubs race. One of the big things that makes skyrim look great is the ENB lighting mods too. The photrealism lighting really makes everythign looks so nice.

I can literally never go back to console on Skyrim again. The amount of freedom to create characters and ways to play is pretty awesome on pc. I've got like 100+ more screenshots too, those were just the tip of the iceberg. I'm only 33 hours in and I know I haven't even truly started lol

I use an ENB too, but I use one that isn't too bright because Skyrim is a harsh land and making it too bright can ruin that aspect. It needs to be dark and gritty, so the snow and the tundra still stand out and the green won't look so shiny.

What are your favorite mods? Outside of visuals...I'm pretty weak on the visual aspects of my game and should probably start to remedy that; so I don't have a lot of visual improvements on outside of better cities; but my favorite ones are:

UFO (walking around with a squad is definitely different, but don't use it if you want to level [your guys will kill everything, and fast] and I've had more than a few friendly fire incidents when in close quarters...but it's all fun).

More NPCs in the Wild (probably my number one--being able to coax Thalmor patrols into fighting by openly proclaiming yourself a heretic, so you don't incur a bounty, is worth the price of admission...which is free!!)

Bandoliers bags and Pouches (I love crafting these things and they look great, plus the carry weight bonus is no joke)
Weapon Variant Expansion (craftable and lootable. I think the Dwarven Shortswords are the coolest addition)
Dovahkiin Hideout (just awesome--best housing mod out there imo. Well supported and high-end functional)
Craftable Blades Armor (finally I can make a set with proper stats...and can make more if I outgrow the enchantments)

Just a few I've stuck with over time.

I am looking at Moonpath to Elsweyr for a large quest add-on. Any feedback on it.

Outside of visuals, I would recommend:

* Better Dialogue Controls
* Reduced Distance NPC Greetings
* Deadly Dragons
* Enhanced Higher Lvl Gameplay
* many of the Malukah cover songs

I have so many freaking mods that I wouldn't know which ones are my favorites. Here's a list of the mods I like the most.

Better Vampires
Moonlight Tales
Project Reality, Climates of Tamriel
AFT, I seem to be the only one around here who used that instead of UFO
Frostfall
Crafting 300 - Armory of Tamriel, overhauls smithing and adds some very interesting things

I don't really use that many things for visuals aside from high resolution textures and that ENB, otherwise its starts causing trouble with Skyrim's engine, and having it CTD all the time is annoying, I'd use Open Cities if I could, but due to the engine limitations, the game stays on an infinite loading screen whenever I exit someone's house.

Interesting recommendations here; should have time this weekend (3 days off) to do some browsing.

Here's what I can recall off the top of my head; don't know if I ever listed them:

- SKSE
- Unofficial Patches for Skyrim and all DLC
- Climates of Tamriel
- Lush Trees and Grass
- SMIM (static mesh improvement mod)
- Better Snow
- Improved Dungeon Relics
- Mossy Rocks
- W.A.T.E.R
- Sky UI
- No LARP weapons
- CBBE with accompanying armor/clothing
- No Bronze skin (gets rid of that ugly bronze line on skin at certain camera angles)
- FX Injector; old version tweaked for semi photo-realistic presentation
- Larger Mill windvanes

- A collection of my own tweaks including:
- No cell respawns (scripts still do their spawning; road encounters for instance still work)
- Game time slowed to 1 gameday = 12 hours real time
- My take on "Realistic Force mod"
- All imagespaces edited to eliminate HDR overglow/blur; can actually enjoy the details in dwemer ruins, and can see in front of my nose in certain caves. Also fixed Blackreach which didn't have an assigned imagespace, so it used whichever imagespace was last loaded. I went down there one sunny afternoon and the area was quite bright.
- Buffed sneaking so it's more reliable
- Improved Serana's sneaking

I want to try realistic lighting but am waiting for it to mature a bit more. Open cities looks interesting but there's a list of potential gotchas to look out for, and I'd have to start a new character. I would love if Bethesda's next singleplayer game got rid of door loading screens altogether; GW2 proves you can have decent looking interiors without giving each interrior it's own map and loading screen, and in 1999 Ultima IX did the same thing. :)

All this talk has me missing Skyrim a bit. *sniff*

I use:

SKSE
Climates of Tamriel
Realistic Lighting Overhaul
StaticMeshImprovement
All the HD 4k textures
WATER
Lush Trees + Grass
UNP Body
Realvision ENB

Cloaks
Enchanting Freedom
More Dragon Loot
Dragonbone Weapons

Missing a few of the visual ones, but can't remember all of them.

Do you know if the Unofficial Patch fixes the triggering/bugs associated with the "Blood on the Ice" quest. I've had trouble with it on every playthrough (XBOX 360 and PC), but I couldn't find it in the patch notes. That's a small thing of course. Just wondering.

On your Blackreach fix, did you happen to upload it as a mod? I'm getting ready to head there and am NOT looking forward to using Candlelight and Mage Light. I use them to level Alteration, but they burn my eyes like chlorine! Posted Image I'd love to see Blackreach in real light.

I too, would like to bid door loading screen good riddance. I don't think my rig will handle a load screen-less map like open cities, but I did mod Breezehome to be open.

If you miss Skyrim, that's quite an easily resolvable issue! Posted Image

I wouldn't say it is the best or most creative mod, but Categorized Favorites is by far the most useful mod I have. I know Skyrim is a great game, but man the vanilla favorite system was soooo bad it really is very embarrassing.

Yep. I'm no advocate of milking something dry, but Skyrim needed 1 more DLC and with the game still going relatively strong, I'm sure it is something Bethesda and its fans would have both profited from. So what the next RPG people are looking forward too?

I'm really in a dry patch.  Re-playing Oblivion now, but the next thing on the horizon are the kickstarter games (Dead State, Wasteland 2 and Project Eternity).  Then on the distant horizon, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk and the Numenera Torment kickstarter game.

Yeah the Vanilla UI sucks big time for PC. I use Categorized favorites too, and SkyUI as well but I think everyone uses that mod anyways.

Dont have 500 hours more to kill at the moment :P  So yeah this is probably a reason to avoid migrating back to PC. haha

Neither do I, but I still play when I can, not right now though since I'm using FNV right now and don't have time for both.

Nah, no backstory of any note for any of my characters. They start as prisoners, and end as arse-kickers. That's about it. Posted Image

Really, what about why they got put in prison

Kal Mudi was taken because she killed a guy with a pot

Masturbates Furiously was arrested for indecent exposure and public masturbation.

Link was picked up for public disturbances, playing his Ocarina and causing storms with it.

You wnat a story, I'll give you one for my next vampire Altmer, he was one of those vampire thralls and has been serving vampires his whole life, he was somewhere in Cyrodiil in some vampire den near Skyrim's border, he escaped infected with disease already and unfortunately ran into that whole mess with Ulfric, and the Imperials didn't know any better.

I don't, I avoid SKSE mods and anyway don't see that it makes a big difference.  Categorized Favorites I do use, though.

To be fair, the very definition of disappointment is looking forward to a game that no one has announced.  Seriously, why is  anyone even mentioning Fallout 4, when neither Obsidian nor Bethesda have claimed to be working on it?

Maybe it doesn't for you but it certainly does for me, MCM is also a nice bonus, but that can also be used without SkyUI anyways.
