Nah, not Duncan, but I sure miss him...probably because he's such an "iconic" image of the type of game that Bioware will never make again.

eh
I could do without that type of game (specifically the PC being the last of an ancient order destined to stop a great evil and is therefore a special snowflake)

Dragon Age origins was awesome, but a bit overrated. IMHO DAII may be the greatest letdown in the history of console gaming...

If the sequel disappoints, people tend to hold the previous game in a much higher regard.  This 80's song comes to mind.

I agree with this, even though it might be one of those  chicken-egg arguments.  It's not that they suddenly hold the previous game in higher regard, its that they're  noticing that the sequel does not meet the standard they  subconsciously set in their head due to the previous game's awesomeness.  And so  they'll voice these differences

When a great game comes out, many players will not openly start gushing praises for it.  Instead, they'll be quietly satisfied and appreciative, in the meantime something is happening in their minds.  They're conditioning themselves to accept that game as the standard.  Thus, when the sequel comes out and it's not quite as good, these people will come out of the woodwork and start complaining.....  even though that sequel may be an OK game on its own... but the fact that it's not as good or better than the original is going to trigger that criticism.

Interestingly, the reverse of this is true as well.  If the original title is garbage, people will accept it as a standard, and then  the devs are in a great position to put out a sequel that's better, and  that game will enjoy immense praise for breaking the previous game's bar, even if on its own, it may not be a great game   <-----  this is why I think Bioware is going to get lucky with DA3.  DA2 was *so* bad and so alarmingly lacking, that pretty much  the only direction they *can* go is up.   Any type of real substance, new additions, and  added detail  they do for the next game is bound to be noticed, overly praised, and overly focussed on.

Or they'll turn evangelist and attempt to discuss their superior game/taste in another game's thread. <_<

This seems like a steal for only $32.50 and will fit cozily with my Art of Mass Effect and World of Thedas books! :)

Image IPB

It also comes with a signed (albeit printed) 24" copy of the Alduins Wall poster.  A slightly larger (and more inconveniently sized) unsigned open ended litho is selling on the Bethesda store for $25.  http://store.bethsof...lithograph.html

So yeah, cant see any reason not to get this!! B)

I have every confidence in Bioware putting out another poor quality title.

Updated mod coming soon: SkyUI v4. Look at this vid for details:

Note that this can be configured to be used with other Fave Menu mods if that is your preference. However, for me, this appears to be a real winner!

That's great what they've done with that mod, that function to place different equipment in different slots will be pretty useful. So any idea when that update will be released?

As I understand, it is currently a Beta and may be tested by those willing to give it a try. But since Gopher has done this vid with permission, I expect it will be released soon.

You set up a group of items, say an armor set and a weapon or something like that in one of those lots you get it hotkeyed, just press that key and you equip everything in that slot. Simple, and makes more use of the keyboard.

I've been using categorized favorites menu. I am interested in this new version, mainly due to the group function.

Really?
Really?

I liked DAII better then I initially liked DA:O, wanting to see all of the choices play out is why I bothered to get DA:O again and finish it (because I just got tired of the pointless dungeons during Denerim when you are rescuing Anora)

I hope they have some more patches planned.

Still sad that Skyrim ended (on what seemed) abruptly.  Was so sure of another DLC

I bit the bullet and installed Open Cities and a few other mods by Arthmoor (signs, tree in Whiterun). My test run with a quick new character verified Open Cities worked with a custom uGrids of 7, which I've run for over a year without issues. There's a bit of a loading hitch as the detailed city data is loaded (versus the low-content profile that usually existed), but it's liveable. Was awesome swinging open the doors and marching in without a loading screen. Alas all the houses/buildings still have loading screens. Oh well.

Made a new breton to start a serious game; hope to post a screenshot of her this evening. Still playing GW2 but my friends are east coast so after 7pm or so they log off so I have time to play Skyrim. In this case time zones are in my favor.

What is a good way to level up the Smithing skill? My current method is crafting Dwarven Bows but was wondering if there was something more efficient.
