No I gave up. That place is way too depressing.

Some notes for PC players:

1. Setting timescale to anything less than 2 messes with Alduin's introductory flight at the (unmodded) beginning of the game. If you forget and he's flying around without landing, set timescale to 2 or higher once or twice and eventually he'll land on the tower.

1.a Sidenote: if you have subtitles enabled you can see what Words of Power Alduin is shouting.

2. With Dawnguard installed you get interrupted by a Dawnguard recruiter while meeting Hadvar's uncle (if you go that route). If you don't quickly end the conversation with the recruiter it can mess up the Hadvar/Uncle scene. If Hadvar and/or his Uncle don't walk into the house like they should after this, talk to the non-moving person and immediately exit conversation; they should move to enter the house. May have to repeat once inside the house. This could also be tied to low timescale settings.

Other than these things, the game seems to work fine at timescale 2, and I love the longer days/nights, especially on weekends when I have more time to play. No doubt some of you know these things already; just thought I'd share. Also this game's ambience can be rather therapeutic, I've noticed. Don't have to deal with allergies like when I go outside (IRL), either. :P

I use a timescale of 10 for longer days/ nights, but it also 'shrinks' Skyrim and Solstheim for general travel purposes. This may not matter much if one skips Fast Travel and like transportation, but it does make the lands feel smaller.

Well, the map is only 16 square miles (about 41 square kilometers), making it roughly 4 miles x 4 miles square. Makes sense to me that I should be able to travel back and forth across the map a few times per game day. I modded fast-travel times to be more 1:1 with actual foot travel.

While true, it is hardly the intent to make it fit this scale based on the number holds, dungeons, etc that are filling the area.

Even traveling by foot I can tell the map is small. Changing the time scale actually improves the game for me because I get more done in a daylight/night period than I could by developer intent. The map's size doesn't bother me; sorry if I gave that impression. I actually like the balance achieved in modern sandbox games; doesn't take me all day to get somewhere, but I can't quite see everything from the top of a tall hill. It works.

Also a heads-up to anyone using TESVEdit; a new version is available on the nexus.

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this since the last Steam patch:

I can play for about an hour or two before this occurs. No noticeable issues during this time.

Problem starts with me going into an interior area, such as a house. Frame rate is sluggish upon entering but eventually smooths out. I shrug it off and do my thing. Then I exit the house and am welcomed with slide-show frame rate with the Auto-save message in the top left corner. Performance does not improve. I have to exit the game completely and restart, then all is well. I didn't experience this prior to the last official patch, even though I was running ugrids 9 at the time. Just curious if any other PC players have experienced something similar. Now that I think about it, I should check for a driver update tonight. I use nvidia GTX680 (single card).

I had a past occurance with the lag monster, but this may have been before the recent patch, and was fixed by a combo of vid card settings and regular cashe cleanings before gameplay. Also, I have updated vid drivers for my older nVidia 9800 GT card, too.

Has anyone ever reached 100% Completion? You know only having thieves guild and Darkbrotherhood to do considering they both have unlimited contracts.

This seems like a steal for only $32.50 and will fit cozily with my Art of Mass Effect and World of Thedas books! :)

It also comes with a signed (albeit printed) 24" copy of the Alduins Wall poster.  A slightly larger (and more inconveniently sized) unsigned open ended litho is selling on the Bethesda store for $25.  http://store.bethsof...lithograph.html

So yeah, cant see any reason not to get this!! B)

Just got this from Amazon yesterday and compared to the original book that came with Skyrim CE. Same layout and content for the original game but on thinner, glossy paper, allowing the new book to be only a bit thicker than the original. Add all DLC content. The poster is inside the front cover, and the two-sided map is inside the back cover. I got the hardbound edition pictured and it seems to be of good quality. Got one for my brother too.

One thing I like to do most in Skyrim is plan and build characters.  I found a few that I would never thought of despite playing for 1 1/2 years.

Revenant
Volkihar
Shadowscale
Whet Fang (Argonian Vampire)

Interesting builds but I still prefer my bow/dagger silver-tongued thief/assassin. Never gets old for me.

The Volkihar build reminded me a bit of Matrix, and FEAR's slow-mo ability on the Point Man. I have slo-mo on my bow for sighting purposes; love it. :)

I'm going to go for the Demon Hunter.:D

If anyone is looking for a better Civil War, here's a mod that will greatly improve the civil war and adds Markarth and Riften battles. I expect it to become very popular very soon.

Not at all, except the Civil War did not require a fix, IMO. I quite liked the story, but now those on the PC can choose to alter it if they so choose. Nothing sad about this.

went back in time from my 150 hours to 50 hours so I could do the blood on the ice quest
(I prefer to explore rather than follow guides so didn't realise that I had to enter the graveyard every time I entered whitehelm (or crossed the bridge South of the city))
finally saw the headless horseman
started Dawnguard
