The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

I'm not going to talk about it anymore. This is a Skyrim thread, shouldn't be infested with that garbage. It's not an Elder Scrolls game and I expect it to go into the free-to-play wasteland much like the other big MMO boondoggle that couldn't fail.

Sorry; not seeing the same thing.
Same here. I'm not seeing whatever you're, Addai.
28 year old temptress with bursting boobs? Where? She is 28 of course(very young for an elf that can live a couple hundred years), but...temptress? Bursting boobs? Que?
Agree. She's got at best a C cup going on, and dresses more modestly than many college women in my neighborhood. I'm not seeing reason for complaint here.

28 is an infant for an Altmer. It's ridiculous.
Elves don't work that way though. They mature at the same rate we do, but live longer.
A 28 year old elf in TES is equivalent to a 28 year old human, mental-maturity wise.
The ESO creators were asked what lifespans the races of Tamriel have, and we were given vague answers but it was basically that the beast races live as long as humans do but elves extend us. 200 is old by elven standards, 300 is very old by elven standards, anyone older than that extended their lives through magic.
If instead it took longer for elves to mature compared to humans, then yes, 28 would be young maturity wise. But you won't see a 28 year old elf jumping around crazily like a kid in a supermarket. hahaha
28 is young for en elf, but only in lifespan.
Anyway, I like Queen Ayrenn-
Apparently she traveled all over Tamriel like the main characters of TES games do, but she got screwed over somehow in Cyrodiil by one of the main baddies in ESO and she's now leading the charge for the Dominion against him.
Aww hell, lemme post what the ESO site has on her-
http://elderscrollso...ldmeri-dominion
"Queen Ayrenn is intelligent and honorable, with a genuine humility rarely seen among her people but she is also a decisive leader with a stubborn streak. She is young for a High Elf—a mere 28 years old—but she spent much of the first part of her life roaming the lands and seas of Tamriel, seeking adventure and the kind of education schools cannot impart. She returned to Summerset following the death of her father to accept her position as heir to the Altmer throne."
I love that she traveled all over Tamriel like the main character of TES games do. I find that my character can relate to that.

It doesn't matter that she's got all her parts. If you have a race that values eugenics, venerates the ancestors, and is famously insular, then the idea that they would even allow a 28 year old "adventurer" to take the throne is ridiculous. Every interesting and unique idea about the Elder Scrolls universe is being shoved under the rug to appeal to the least common denominator of the mainstream market. Another example is the Bosmers' cannibalism being "private and not talked about." As in, it doesn't exist, because that would ruin the illusion that this is a LOTR universe.
And you know what? Even calling it LOTR is an insult to Tolkien. It's pop fantasy of the blandest variety. Enjoy it if you like, but don't call it Elder Scrolls because it isn't. I'd rather read fanfiction on the BGS forum. Some of that has actual quality.

Its as simple as that. The Right of Succession.
Its cool to like it or not like it but don't you think you're exaggerating quite a bit? Especially with the "don't call it Elder Scrolls because it isn't".
I mean, dang. With that logic ME2 and ME3 weren't Mass Effect games and DA2 wasn't a Dragon Age game.

Do you really want to go there? LOL
No, I don't think I'm exaggerating. I don't consider it Elder Scrolls. And, someone asked. That's my opinion. I look forward to its ultimate demise so the usual ES haunts aren't cluttered with it as a distraction.

I'd like to have some Elder Scrolls to play between the big singleplayer TES releases.
Bonus points to the ESO team for focusing a lot on making large parts of the game single player viable.
Props for them adding a first person PoV so I can explore like any other TES game and then switch to third person when I'm in a group scenario.
Fully voice acted like SWTOR except they are writing the game in such a way that there actually is a lot of endgame content, unlike SWTOR. Glad for that.
I like the size that Cyrodiil is in relation to everything else, given that Cyrodiil is where all the PVP activity will be.
Gaaaah, I can't wait.

Nah. I don't know yet. I haven't scoured images and video to see what Skyrim assets are being reused in ESO, but I imagine it'll be tiny stuff.
But man, I can't freaking wait.
Gonna be going all over Valenwood, Elsweyr, and The Summerset Isles.
Then Highrock and Hammerfell. Then Skyrim, Morrowind, and Black Marsh.

Are you sure about this? I'm not totally versed in ES lore but I can tell you that this is absolutely false in Tolkein/ D&D lore. In D&D an Elf becomes of age (young adult), both mentally and physically, at around age 250.
Of course, ES lore is all sorts of warped on the matter. In Chimarvamidium, it is mentioned that even the dullest of 8 year old Dwemer children can create a Dwarven golem. This suggests that Elves actually mature quicker than Humans. lol

250 is old for a ES elf. And if elves actually mature quicker than humans, 28 would put Queen Ayrenn above her equally aged human counterparts.
That would be interesting.

Not patched officially AFAIK, but may be unofficially patched in a mod. But as I recall, you do not use mods, so....

1.9 fixed the ancient knowledge bug. Or at least to the point where It no longer bestows the bonusses to all types of armor. It might still give you the +15 to your backsmithing skill. I haven't checked that.
Thanks. Too bad, but still a nice bonus esp when added to the +10% available in DB DLC
