That's odd, my digital KOTN from Direct2Drive had all the addons except Fighter's Stronghold. When D2D got bought, my game was upgraded to Oblivion GOTY edition which again included all addons under KOTN except Fighter's Stronghold. Here's hoping they offer the complete package in September.

I apologize. It seems that I might have been wrong about KOTN not containing those DLC.
I have an Nvidia 560 An Quad core card and 4 GB of memory
The thing is, before the texture pack the game ran flawlessly in my computer.
It doesn't just depend on your specs, since Skyrim is a 32 bit application it cannot "handle" more than 4GB, but in reality its about 3.1GB, once the game starts to get closer to that it starts malfunctioning, CTDs included. It truly depends on the type of mods you're using. If you are using ENBs, texture replacers, things that add NPCs to cells, then that limit will fill up quickly.
Yeah it's a bummer that I ended up with Oblivion GOTY but not the "Deluxe" version so I don't have all the small add-ons and you can't get them anywhere without rebuying the whole game. Doesn't help that Steam tells me I already have the Deluxe edition when I don't.
So, I'm trying the HD texture pack, and I want to know, does the game gets more laggy after using it? Because damn, my performance took an toll.
What are your specs? It depends on how well your computer is.

I would up the memory. While it's true that a 32bit app is not going to use more than 4GB of memory, your OS is using a good chunk of that, and if you leave your browser open, that also is using memory.
My last desktop was a first generation i7 with a 560ti and 9GB of RAM, and it was fine with the high texture pack. Hell, my current notebook is fine with it and gets 60FPS (granted, it has two 650m cards running in SLI, but that setup is probably less powerful than your 560ti).
ETA: And yes, the high texture pack will cause you to get laggy if you don't have enough memory for it to run comfortably. If upgrading your RAM isn't an option, I would drop it.
I have heard good things about the Skyrim Project Optimization
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent console freezes on the 360? (no witty comments about getting it on PC please)
All the explanations im reading don't really relate to my game and I can't see any fixes. I walk around Skyrim and after about 30 seconds no matter what I do the game just permanently stalls. I tried loading an earlier save and clearing the cache but nothing seems to help

Bit stuck really
I don't think there is a way, short of modding your 360, which is not allowed thanks to M$. The problem is that there's no way to access the game's settings like you can with a PC and since mods are not allowed, none of the fixes that exist for the PC are available for the xbox. I do know that save bloating occurs on the xbox as well as on the PC, as for that matter most people recommend disabling auto saves.

You might also wanna try heading home and sleeping for a while. By 'while' I mean like 30 days of gametime. It allows all kinds of scripts to run their course and reset to vanilla state. I bet thine Xbox appreciates this.
Did PS3 version of Skyrim ever get repaired? Or does it still turn into diashow due to save game bloat after some few dozen hours?
Your remarks inspired me to take a look at my own savefiles.. 14.5 megs/save. Supposedly around 25-30 megs is where there starts to be cause for alarm with stability.
I tried to celebrate my new TV by playing SKyrim from sofa with a pad like true console warrior! No clue how it is possible to survive Skyrim and it's UI with a pad:l
^ I don't understand inner workings of Xbox Skyrim at all, but my educated guess is that the dictating feature in savegame bloat is the size of the individual save you just loaded, not the total amount of different saves and how much or little space they take combined.

This is so annoying;l Literally everybody who has ever used a computer of any kind has already bought the ordinary Obli GOTY from one of the bazillion 75% off - discounts Steam has provided over the years. I'm wagering there's plenty of people who'd love to buy this Deluxe GOTY but can't.
It kinda reeks of BS there is a GOTY and seperate freakin Deluxe GOTY of a game nearly 10 years old. If I had ever played Obli, I bet I'd be even more bitter about it!!^^

They claimed to have done so but the problem is bigger than just throwing some patches at it. It has to do with PS3's architecture and the way it handles memory plus the problems that Skyrim's engine has when dealing with the PS3. To fix the problem they'd probably have to change a large amount of things to make it utilize the PS3's resources adequately and that would take a lot of time and money which I doubt they will put into it.
The current version of the game is probably better than what existed at first but the problem sitll exists. The same thing happened with New Vegas, and it became more and more unstable with each DLC.
Save size shouldn't be to much of an issue with this character as its relatively early and only at about 10mb. My main dova save file is about 22mb and other then long load times there isnt really an issue either.
Although unique saves I probably have in excess of about 70 odd so yeah possibly a big purge there will help. Im also liking the 30 day wait as it does sound like there could be some sort of script which is playing up. Hopefully that will resolve it.
Thanks for the input folks, much appreciated

I never figured out what madness drove Sony to venture with some alien mystery CPU arhitecture like 10 people understand.
People behind quite loved Obli total conversion Nehrim are busy with similar project for Skyrim:
It looks beautiful enough. Too many mountains though. It is one thing people who are done with Skyrim prolly don't wanna see in greater quantities. Sadly the thing will be auf Deutsch for a good long while I bet.
Anyone given Nehrim a proper spin? I recall playing it few hours. It is beautful and not only takes you to entirely new world but also mods Obli's UI in pretty masterful fashion. IIRC storyline wasn't anything too grand...But then, I'm not sure how much that matters.

I had the same thing happen once my save count got that high, too. I deleted a bunch of the unnecessary/redundant saves, and everything went back to normal. Can you move some up to the cloud, and give it a try?
I'm pretty sure Skyrim has always (and I do mean Always) been in top 8 most played games of the day in Steam ever since it's release. That's 2.5 years. I can't believe Beth dropped the support for it so quickly. Even in today's shape, with 2 proper content DLCs, Skyrim has exceptional combination of massive popularity and longevity. This brought a situation where Beth had such a good opportunity to build something extremely unique in terms of release cycles. But noooo.

Probably... tradition. As far as I'm aware, all consoles used to have "alien" architecture, not compatible with any PC systems - or with other consoles. It's only after XBox appeared on the market, when they started to become pretty similar and somewhat compatible.

Yeah, I played through it.Being the Oblivion hater that I am, I kinda expected to love it. Unfortunately that was not the case. Of course no enemy scaling was a major highlight and the biggest advantage this module had. But the storyline failed to grasp me. The characters were pretty wooden. And for a caster-centric module, the magic system sure lacked imagination and variety.
Still, an impressive price of work nonetheless. That thing's pretty huge and the level design is pretty good.

Neither do I, it wasn't just the architecture though. The way it handled resource management also causes problems with Skyrim. Blu-Ray was also another thing that people didn't like for making games. So even if the PS3 was superior to a 360.
I guess with regards to Skyrim you could say both parties were at fault, if Bethesda was committed to making a PS3 version it should have anticipated those problems, even if they designed the game primarily for 360, but I guess Sony should've also anticipated what a pain in the ass it would be to deal with their system.
Then again, I'm pretty sure it would've been easier to make the game for PCs first and then port it towards consoles. That doesn't happen with most games anymore though.

I've recently delved into the wonderful world of ENB's, starting with Wintertide, and was wondering if someone could recommend one that isn't as...saturated. I like the vibrant mood and all, but it's just a little too rich.

Watch this series; prefer the last one myself based on appearance and performance (ie; RealVision ENB):
