Lol Fallout and The Elder Scrolls ended up pretty close, both games from the same Publisher. Glad Mass Effect didn't win this if ME3 hadn't been garbage I would have voted for it.

Hah, wow. Fallout and Elder Scrolls competing in the Final Four. That's about what I would've predicted. I was a Fallout voter, but losing to my personal runner-up is acceptable. I too would have been a Mass Effect voter...but ME3 was just in direct opposition that what I wanted out of the franchise, and only showed me that ME was not near as special as I once thought.

Now Bethesda, announce another Fallout game already!

Not interested in the Fallout series, but one has to love Ron Perlman as a narrator. Skyrim is a great game, but still prefer NWN as my top spot followed by the DA series.

Also enjoyed ME3, after receiving some game tips to avoid profanity. While I would prefer not to have Paragon vs Renegade dialogues, the stories and characters were engaging and memorable.

And Elder Scrolls wins. Glorious, and well deserved.

Yeah, I have to agree on ES being a well deserved honor. Bethesda continues to give their fan base what they want and then some, and admirably, still remains open to a million plus mod user community. Other studios should take note, but probably won't to their detriment. And I have to admit, if I'm to count game hours, I have far more time in Skyrim than any other single game I've ever played...embarrassingly so. Still finding content I've missed, after xxxx hours in game.

Drop it off at any stables, and avoid Fast Travel or carriages.

Just about got the ENB bugfix mod working the way I like, with FXInjector as a plugin for the best of both worlds. No Realvision this time. Game looks great overall but seems a little fuzzy at distances, like when looking at trees. Still trying to iron that out. My eyes aren't 20/20 anymore, but they aren't as bad as ENB likes making things either. :P

Well just found a picture of my last Dragonborn on my imageshack account I forgot I had.

Image IPB

Oh what fun I had with him, as he fought against Thalmor, Dragons, Daedra, and worse across the land.

Its like that scene in the Hobbit where (old) Bilbo finds that picture of himself and smiles fondly remembering his adventure from so long ago.
Damn it now I want to play Skyrim again.

Glad this thread hasn't completely died out. This was an amazing and monumental game, despite its many glitches and premature conclusion (one more DLC, dammit!). Bethesda really outdid themselves with this one.

I've still got my "Bronze Sentinel" character... collecting dust, unfortunately. I ought to fire Skyrim back up soon and finish it as it is probably the best character I've played so far.

I haven't been able to actually finish any of the characters I start. There isn't enough time to play this and New Vegas at the same time. Both games are just too big.

Couldn't get ENB's CTD & Memory Patch mod to stop blurring things so just using FXInjector again. Only option enabled is ToneMap (Gamma = 1.15, Exposure = 0, Saturation = 0.75, Bleach Bypass = 1, Defog Power = 2). This removes whiteness from the screen in the same way other mods remove greenness from Fallout 3 and orangeness from Fallout NV. I increased Saturation a bit to enhance color. Using most of the mods on the Realvision page, but Realistic Water II instead of WATER or Purewater. Also using uGrids setting of 7 rather than the default 5.

Also running 16Q fsaa, 8x supersampling.

To speak of TES game in past tense less than two years after it's release.. You know nothing, Ramsay Snow.
I predict that day BSN is going to get closed down in a far distant future, Skyrim thread will still have amount of recent discussion happening. Only new TES game makes people stop playing TES games.  I'm pretty sure there haven't been (m)any moments where Skyrim hadn't been in top-3 most played singleplayer games in Steam since 11.11.11. Which is pretty crazy, truly. Even now only 6 games have more Steam users in it than Skyrim. Most all of them multiplayer FPS or such.

just got a new PC installed Skyrim on it, and my old mod file was pretty out to date (i didnt really download much)

any suggestion for mods?

i thought about trying tend0s skyrim redone and a ENB? anyone tried tend0s? or any ENB suggestions? Looking for a lot of eye candy mods, since my new pc is significantly more powerful than my previous one. I tried googling some mod lists, but most are out dated from early to mid 2012.

There's so many freaking mods today that its kind of crazy to make a list of all the good ones. SkyRe is an amazing mod, at first I was conflicted about using it because you needed to get compatibility patches for a lot of other stuff, but not anymore because the author has made a patcher to make most things compatible with it, so go ahead and get it, and get Skyrim Uncapper as well since you'll need it for sheer amount of perks that SkyRe adds.

Here's a short list of some of the mods I use:

Frostfall - hardcore mod that adds environmental exposure to the game, such as "get too cold and you die"

Wet and Cold - adds well, wet and cold effects that work great with frosftall

Realistic Needs and Diseases - adds sort of a hardcore mode like New Vegas' except that you can get drunk in here.

Deadly Dragons - self explantory I believe

Dragon Combat Overhaul - makes combat with dragons even tougher, if they move near you while they're flying they'll knock you to the ground, same if they land right next to you, also adds a lot of other stuff that makes tougher dragons. Just one thing about this, the author has set it to hidden because he is waiting to release all his mods together once he's finished with them.

Civil War Overhaul - makes the civil war even better, it adds battles to every hold, you can lose battles and even lose the war as a whole, its part of the same author that made Dragon combat overhaul so its hidden as well, and it was also very glitchy but the new version should be more stable

Moonlight Tales - werewolf mod that overhauls werewolves in many aspects and allows you to choose the way you want your werewolf to look, textures included

Werewolf Mastery - allows you to make werewolves stronger, it works well with Moonlight Tales

Better Vampires- overhauls vampires, lets you kill people by feeding on them, even if they're awake, you can "stealth" feed on them, also puts in a vampire rank system that advances depending on how many people you've fed upon.

Climates of Tamriel - overhauls Skyrim climate, now you can get heavier snow and rain plus it has a sound module that makes Skyrim feel more natural.

Supreme Storms - makes heavy rain seem like heavy rain, drops look better and when it rains it REALLY rains, best thing about it is that it works well with Climates of Tamriel

As for ENBs there are a ton of them, however a lot of them are either too shiny or too dark. Personally I  use this one

Here's a sample of what I've managed to achieve using that ENB and this other mod :

Agree, there are so many mods now you can pick and choose according to your preferences.

I primarily go for improved meshes/textures/lighting, but since ENB blurs things I use FXInjector and my own modified lightspaces. Since I enjoy thunder I have immersive thunder for booming storms. Another mod has NPCs equip cloaks when it's raining/snowing outside. Yet another mod makes the edges of weapons less like LARP and more like real life (sharp), and so on.

A good way to get an idea is to go to the skyrim nexus and look at the top 100. Use the filters to find what you're interested in, and read the comments to see if there are any issues to be aware of. Note that many comments are from people who fail to read/follow instructions, so be sure to do that so you can weed out the noise. :P

It may be somewhat simpler than many here need, but I highly recommend Gopher's Beginner Mod Series on youtube for suggestions, tutorials, and implementations. See the list here:

If you see more specific suggestions or ideas, look for them in other playlists by Gopher.

Okay i gotta ask, does anyone else find Belethor extremely creepy? Like sometimes when you leave his store and he says "Do come back", but the "do" doesnt play and he just says "come back" in that "i will rape your ass" voice?

First time i heard that i ran out and didnt stop until i hit Breezehome...

^ It's the same voice actor as for Mercer Frey, and numerous other NPCs, and every time I hear any of them speak, I'm right there where you are.

So, yeah. I took a few months off on Skyrim, but I'm back! I created a new male Khajiit, named after one of my favorite Persian singers. The Persian kitty cat theme was completely unintentional, honest.

I'm experiencing a renewed excitement for the game. I keep finding nooks and crannies that I'd never noticed before, or that seem different since the last time I played. Some dungeons, I barely remember the layout of, so they're "new" to me.

The time off was definitely worth it.

I hear that. I went crazy with house-building with Hearthfire, and took nearly every one of my characters to Solstheim, to see if there were any different race-based interactions/dialogues. Then realized I kept doing the same stuff over and over, and ultimately burned out.

Now, I'm taking my time, enjoying the scenery, and have a much less chaotic ambition for what I want to accomplish.
