I got a quest from Olda in Dragon Bridge last night that I'd never gotten before, called Dragon's Breath Mead. It's a simple quest, where you just have to go to a nearby area, and grab a bottle of mead, and bring it back to her. Nothing too special or difficult.
...But it got me thinking (maybe I'm the Dragonborn? Hehe.) about how many other small quests like that I've probably missed out on. I shall have to look into it. Or not. Too much research makes me over-think it.
So, normally, if I start the Companions quest line, the first quest Farkas gives me is to go and beat someone up (Hired Muscle). This time, he went right into Trouble in Skyrim, at Sunderstone Gorge. Boo, Farkas. Boo.

I'm left missing what I'm always missing in house-building: Saber Cat Teeth. Blah.
And I carry a pickaxe around, which helps with the iron gathering. I stop at every vein.

Also dual-wielding pickaxes lets you mine ore faster, and lets you mine ore other NPCs are mining.

While handy, I agree, it would probably be distracting...and addictive.
I'm on Xbox, so no mods for me. I actually don't mind the vanilla game. If I could mod it, I'd add more trees. And more color. Sometimes, it's just a bit more grey than I'd like.

I understand the gray thing; it's why I use FXInjector on PC, helps to remove that post-processing gray, without ruining foggy weather (which looks as good or better).

On a funny sidenote, my male Khajiit went to the college...and discovered that he looks just like J'Zargo. I mean, dead ringer. I have no idea how I accomplished that, and wasn't even trying. The only difference was that I gave my pc a scar on his nose.
I think J'Zargo might have different hair, too, but it's been a while since I've seen him without his hood, so I'm not sure.
The Rift and the Reach look perfect (for me). The rest could use a little improvement. I'll have to try messing with my tv.Endurium wrote...
You could cheat and turn up color saturation or switch to a warmer color temperature on your TV while playing.

The skies are still gorgeous, though.

I was happy to finally get Rayya last night, as housecarl for Lakeview. I had a giant lurking outside the front door for days, and bandits kept showing up, wanting to turn my poor kitty into a rug. I was kind of hoping the giant would keep other enemies away, but nooo. I finally had to put them all down, as it was pretty dangerous and unnerving to be attacked every time I went out the front door.

Question time, in what ways will making Maven non essential and cutting her head off break the game?
The Civil War and the Thieves Guild will get broken. Although there is a mod made explicitly for the purpose of destroying the thieves guild, actually there are a lot, anyway in one of those mods there is an option to kill her. I'd wait until the Empire puts her in charge, to take her out. If you're not planning on doing the thieves guild quests, I know I won't because I don't want to be some Daedric Lord's slave, although there's also more than one mod that will allow you to tell Karliah to get lost. If you side with Ulfric there shouldn't be much trouble, but I'd wait until you complete Season Unending.

Either it's been too long since I last played, or I have never been to that location. Like ever, in over 1000 hours.
Somehow I survived that initial drop by landing in the water - which was quite harrowing, btw; and I probably wouldn't have made it through the cave without a follower (and my trusty Dremora buddy).
It's pretty awesome to still be finding locations, after all this time...or for them to feel completely new, whichever is the case.

Question: Besides the Lunar powered weapons, what else is perma-bugged?

Have very few other obvious glitches thanks to the unofficial patches being kept up to date.

I notice that soul gems and the like still don't group themselves together in inventory. I had hoped they would fix that by now.
Oh, I bought Proudspire in Solitude, and the Thane quest wouldn't go away when I had 5/5. It did go away when I got to 6/5, though.
Aside from that, it's been pretty good, bugginess-wise.

Of course, this is only a guess; have no exact idea what causes the problem.
