I have it pre-ordered and ready to pick up on 11/11. I'm looking forward to it - I've been impressed with everything I've seen thus far.

Nice sword. I really think they should disable the quiver, though, I aways do that in Oblivion. It's strange to see my character with a dagger and quiver :P

About the marriage, I'm going for a nice Nord guy, myself. Or maybe a Redguard.

Vampires confirmed

"Just then a fireball came at me. “What the [censored]?, where did that come from!?” I heard laughter. Vampires! A dasterdly pair of them had set up shop in the bottom of the mountain near a statue of some sort. "

Source: Dave Oshry hands on preview http://www.ripten.co...iever-hands-on/

About time they were confirmed.  I sure hope vampires are a lot better this time.  (Oblivion's require multiple mods to make them interesting and fun to play as).  An even bigger surprise though would be a return of Vampire Clans similar to Morrowind.  Oh and werecreatures too.

I'd also like to see the return of vampire clans and werecreatures (particularly werewolves, Bloodmoon-style). I just hope being a werewolf wouldn't be quite as "limited" as it was in Morrowind (it was still fun, though).

Wow, I was actually thinking about the vampire clans today and was going to ask if anybody has heard anything, lol I hope they're in Skyrim.

why don't you contact Dave Oshry and ask him if the vampires seemed to be in a clan?

I think he's the only person outside of Bethesda who has seen vampires in Skyrim.

I've got it pre-ordered as well. I called Gamestop where I go and told the manager to pre-order it for me so I'll have mine 11/11 as well. After Skyrim I doubt I'll need any games for a while.<G> Especially if it's as big s what Oblivion is.

Yay, Listener :D

Sadly, I can't pre-order Skyrim (I live in another country and I don't have a credit card). There is a shop that sells Skyrim and accepts Paypal though, so if I'm lucky I'll be able to pre-order soon. Regardless, I would need 2+ weeks to get the game, so it doesn't really matter if I pre-order or not.

Well. I am currently using DX3 as a test to see if my current rig would be able to handle Skyrim.

Yeah, not happening.

Oh good, the creatures that I tend to charge and beat the holy hell out of as quickly as possible so I don't get sick are back.

Lol...same here, but what a neat enemy. I'm sure they will be much more vicious and fearsome this time around. Concept art looked really good. I did the same you did in Oblivion...I saw a vampire and freaked it and bashed it. I like how Bethesda makes their disease system prominent. Remember...get a disease and you have it...no getting rid of it. That'd be something....Level 4 and wham....you're a vampire.

Man...a vampire with the authentic soul of a dragon.

I can assure you that the world size is very close to the same. Mountains will give it a different feel. Rugged mountains. Land of the Nords. You've seen screens of what the landscape looks like...the utter detail. I am sure you have just fully recognized the scope of what The Elder Scrolls is. Todd Howard said that there is absolutely so much content, quests and just so much to do that it'll intimidate even TES veterans.

Think about it....the world's detail and size....and crammed with oodles and oodles more content than Oblivion.

Oh, and watch out. Because dragons free roam, and if one spots you, you better be prepared! Or you'll quickly be loading from your last save. There are free roaming dragons!!!

It has the potential to be one of the greatest games of all time.

You're telling me you wouldn't want to spend that time duel wielding magicka and becoming the most powerful Sorcerer Skyrim has ever seen? :P

will travel be easier in the mountains? In Oblivion, I often had problems finding roads, and getting up the sides of mountains . . . hated that

I heard you will be able to climb to the top of every mountain and traverse them all with trails. Often times they said you can go through tunnels and dungeons within.

Not sure how they will set up the roads and paths. You definitely won't be able to just climb all the way up...there are many shear cliffs. Paths and roads up. I'm hopeful they add a few moee roads and paths, though....I didn't mind going to my map to locate a close road, but it was frustrating if it was too far away :P.

I can almost rest assured the network of paths and roads will be detailed and extensive. That, plus the land isn't randomly computer generated at parts this go around.

Ha! I know exactly what you mean. Morrowind is the same way - I always dreaded going to Red Mountain or anywhere north, west, or south of there. The terrain was too rugged and there were virtually no clearly visible paths to be found.

Well, in Morrowind you could at least levitate to get anywhere.

Why? I never got why this is an issue.

The games are about choice and options. Vast choices and options! Its actually surprisingly popular with some people and as said you dont have to do any of it.

Personally im glad to see it being catered in. Just because its added doesnt mean the game will be like the Sims.

I couldn't agree with you more on this one here. But lets say we leave this one go for now shall we?<LOL>

Guys.
It was a joke.

Calm down.

I'm all for same sex romances. I was refering to the "Humans Marrying Dogs" fallacy.

Glad to hear vampires are returning.  I hope they made more then a few tweaks to them this time round!  I would certainly like to try a vampire character at some point.

Sympathy4saren- I've got a feeling that Skyrim might have raised the bar to high for other companies to match them this time. From what all I've seen and heard about the game were in for allot of fun. Glad to see that were even going to have dragons this time around. Now are the daragon speak: I think thats what they called them. are they permanent or temp? Or do we know yet?

Dragon Shouts. Depends of what you mean by "permanent". I assume that once we learn them, we can use them forever.
