I want to play this game but the recent memory nerf to 3.1GB has me looking for mods to sacrifice so the game doesn't ctd when I approach towns. Damn consoles and their weak systems hobbling my PC games. Used to be able to play with cell rendering distance 3x what it normally is, now even 2x is too unstable. Grrrrrrrrrrr
Also Arthmoor apparently discontinued support for Open Cities for similar reasons, citing similar frustration. Grrrr again.
Really disappointed when I heard about that, but if he can't make that work, I don't think anyone else can.

I was wrong.
Draugr Deathlords, Volkihar Vampires, Bandit Plunderers... I can't even get through Dustman's Cairn without getting one-shot by most enemies. Every other coffin has a Deathlord in it. It's a massacre.
Time to start over. >_<

I took these a while ago, but I still can't get over how ridiculously gawjus the Forgotten Vale w/ENB/boatloads of other graphics mods is.

Zounds, Frostfall notifications.

Wait a minute. What non-combat skills? if it's Blacksmithing and Enchanting then you shouldn't be getting one-shotted.... By anything.. There's not much a draugr deathlord can do to you when your Armor rating is at 1000 and your weapons are doing 500 damage +30 Fire, +30 electrical.greengoron89 wrote...
Alrighty then... so trying to train multiple non-combat skills all at the same time turned out to be a disaster. I knew this might end up happening from past experience, but thought I could handle it this time.

I believe he was training speech as well. Apparently Draugr Deathlords can't be persuaded.

He just didn't think to pickpocket them

You say this in jest, but it's the truth. Max out the pickpocket tree, and combat becomes easy. Or should we say NON-combat becomes easy.Joy Divison wrote...

Coupled with stealth for example, you can choose to face, say, naked bandit bosses (Perfect Touch), or unarmed Draugr Deathlords (misdirection). Seriously, Draugr Deathlords are as harmless as small mudcrabs when you take away their ebony swords and bows.
And oh yeah, Foresworn Briarhearts fall dead instantly when you pickpocket their Briarhearts.
And Coupled with Alchemy (another non-combat skill!), the sky's the limit. You can pretty much eliminate the need to engage in combat all together. Your poisons can wreak complete havok on entire rooms full of enemies.

That's actually a funny optic. I wonder if there ever was a fantasy/comic/movie hero whose MO was what you described.
PS: we need to see some of your orcs!

Also, I never even thought about pickpocketing Draugr. Or stealing the clothes right off people's backs. That makes a lot of sense, and now I really want to try it. I definitely will, once I take a break from AC4.

While I have not read the series, this does strike me as similar things I have heard about the Gray Mouser and Fafhrd by Fritz Leiber; might give them a try.

I just loved how at level 81 when I got there combat was so easy.
You could just smack down anything that got in your way.
Kinda want to play again, but I dont want to play on ultra low again.
Going to get my new computer and play on ultra high finally.

I get rid of those patrols of morons every time I see them. I don't know why holds put bounties on you for killing them. It doesn't make sense, not for Imperial or Stormcloak holds.

I was kill them by feeding on them with my vampire. they never notice the first guy is dead. When I get rid of the second one, they do, they're also good for three feedings each. That's great if you're using Better Vampires or something similar.

If you speak with the Thalmor, they will attack first; no bounty. Just try and get any prisoners away from the battleground first to avoid interference.

I know but that makes it harder to feed on them.

Fun fact, one of those scenic carriages mods (not sure which one) was released by developer Kurt Kuhlmann and was originally going to be in the game. I can see why they dropped it.
I can too, and it is a very simple answer, consoles. I'm guessing that having cells pop in and out too fast would cause massive CTDing for consoles. This is also the reason why they removed Dragon fast travel, originally you could ride a dragon and tell it where to go. Consoles stopped that too, too many cells and objects loading at the same time caused too many CTDs.
That mod in particular and many of its other iterations had a knack for corrupting saves, mainly because of their scripts. There is one that doesn't do this though and thats because it doesn't use scripts, but there was a downside to it as well.

For those that like shivers and goose bumps, try going thru White Ridge Barrow on Solstheim and avoid killing the spiders. I was using Kyne's Peace, trying to speed my way, and seeing the hundreds of large purple glowing arachnids surrounding me was too reminiscent of Aliens. While not an archanaphobe, this was singularly the largest Halloween scare I encountered this year.
