For my game, I increase difficulty with mods, and leave the slider on Adept ( ie; equal footing on damage). This allows higher level opponents to access to most of the same perks, spells, etc that are granted to the DB, and some mods allow for better AI. And Deadly Dragons offers a wide range of options for keeping them in the fight a bit longer, if so desired.

It gives every fight that you win that satisfying 'brush with death' feel, even at higher levels.

I use Ultimate Combat to get the difficulty up; which pretty much makes it so both you and your enemies have more realistic damage thresholds and puts more emphasis on stamina and blocking, along with Enhanced Enemy AI, which makes your enemies use pretty much everything at their disposal and feel like they're fighting for their life too.
It gives every fight that you win that satisfying 'brush with death' feel, even at higher levels.

One of the weaknesses of Vanilla Skyrim to me is the Difficulty Slider. It simply increases damage for NPC's, and reduces damage for the DB. That's it. No tactical or strategic alterations at all.
Doing legit difficulties would require some actual thought/work on the part of Bethesda though.

Skyrim is the game that made me do it. And if, or when, you decide to go to PC (which I highly recommend as a previously satisfied 360 player), you'll seriously wonder why in the hell you didn't do it in the first place. For me, Skyrim went from being a great and satisfying game with a finite shelf life on console, to a brand new and inspiring game with virtually unlimited customization and replayability.

My norm is walking around with 2 to 3 followers at any given time.

I was actually thinking about putting together a classic "party" in the vein of DA:O using a follower mod. I really like some of these follower mods like Hoth and Inigo, and of course like Serana and Teldryn Sero as well. All five of us together would make quite a team, and of course they all have their own unique dialogue and personalities as well to make it more like a classic RPG party
There's also a very new follower mod that just came out but comes from a very good mod author.
Dustbound, here it is in case you're interested.

EmeraldReign is great. I expect no less than excellence from that mod, to be honest.

Precisely why I got ii and I also downloaded it because there are no decent high elf followers. Real followers like this one are rare in that place.

Interesting NPCs has a few good followers as well, though they don't really like to follow you when you have a party, even with follower mods it seems. Though eventually I found a workaround by dismissing everybody, recruiting them, and then recruiting everybody else back.
Hoth doesn't seem to get along very well with UFO or AFT either, from my experience.

Anyway, I can't seem to install Falskaar. It keeps coming up with "System.outofmemoryexception" right towards the end of the installation process and failing. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say this system is not powerful enough to install a mod the size of Falskaar.
This is through the NMM, though - perhaps it might benefit to try installing it manually. Either way, I grow increasingly more frustrated with this rig. I might end up having to hold off on Skyrim PC until I can come up with the money for a better PC.

Be aware that something is amiss with either IE 11, Flash Player, etc; youTube is freezing, and some other pages are not loading properly. Spent a good part of the day trying for a fix, but still as messed up as when I started. And things were playing well before the weekend. *grumbles*

Try installing it manually, I looked it up and this might just be an error with NMM. Although, from what I know myself, outofmemoryexceptions usually occur when a program attempts an operation and fails to excecute it properly because there isn't enough RAM, either way I don't think it is a problem with your computer. Its NMM itself, compared to other mod managers it is not as robust as Nexus likes to say it is.
To be honest I'm going to switch to mod organizer, another mod manager, I've been wanting to move to FOMM as well but it seems that is harder than it sounds. I already tried to do it with New Vegas and it was nothing short of being a pain in the ass.

Supposedly the name came about based on a Khajiit saying that "good leadership can only be found elsewhere." When warring kingdoms came together to form a new country, they chose to name it Elsweyr as a sly joke.Splinter Cell 108 wrote...
I wonder what Elsweyr means anyway, it is Khajiit language after all. Regardless, I think the next game should be somewhere more relevant to the Thalmor so I'd guess its either the Summerset Isle or Hammerfell, since I'm inclined to believe Hammerfell is probably public enemy #1 for the Aldmeri Dominion.
Aaand, I see I was ninja'ed long ago...

Anyway I think I'll give Interesting NPCs a go. I like those videos... the characters are well written and very well voice acted. Most mods have terrible voice actors, or poor quality recordings... but not Skyrim mods, apparently. People put a lot of work into these things, far more than for for other games it seems.
Also, I'm conflicted about the Civil Wars Overhaul mod. On one hand it looks very well done... but on the other hand, the modder is a complete and utter dickface (you weren't lying, Splinter), and I kinda don't want to use the mod just on sheer principle.

I use it, I sometimes find it somewhat hypocritical to use his mod and call him an ass but whatever. I just stay away from him as much as I can. The way I see it, soon enough he's going to get banned from the Nexus for that attitude of his.

I was talking about that, and my friend was laughing that one of his friends on Steam who says he hates Skyrim has 400 hours on it.
