I am doing this.

Dexter of Skyrim, here I come.

The interesting thing is - where does all the water go?

If every river has a current that can carry you, it could be an interesting way to get around the province, end up flowing out to the coast, or to lakes.

Even though the inventory looks to be less cumbersome than Oblivion, I can't help but disapprove of the 'modern' look of the menus themselves, as I rather liked Oblivion's 'parchment' appearance.

While were at it, the same applied to Origins and DA2 for me as well - Origins had much more immersive option screens (visually) than DA2's bizarre faded menus.

An interesting point actually Skorpious. I never really thought about it but now you mention it, I somewhat agree.

I still think the constellation perks menu and the zoom out world map are awesome additions. However I can still see the appeal of the old world paper map that Cyrodyl had.

As for selecting weapons, it does have a technology feel about it doesnt it. Almost like your looking at your Fallout Pipboy. I think I agree with you there that a scroll or parchment feel would be better. But I dont think its going to kill my immersion to much, if at all.

I am quite happy with the fact that there will be a smithing skill in Skyrim. One of the things I wanted to do badly in Oblivion was to be able to make my own armor and weapons. Very happy to know that I am now able to.

I ran around the town killing dogs and cows before the townspeople
finally came after me with pitchforks and axes of their own. But let's
be serious, they're no match for a Dragonborn.

:P

I can't wait.
I will definitly play has a maniac. In the end no one will be alive but DOVAHKIN DRAGONBORN!

I heard water was going to be more explorable this time. Hidden items....more so....than Oblivion, which leads me to believe there will be a few Fin Gleam like items hidden in the depths. Any more word on exploring underwater?

Also, I heard tell that the number of different fish was astounding...each with their own name...supposedly hard to pronounce.

There is going to be a hell of a lot more things available for Alchemy....let alone then cooked variations of items done through Cooking. Holy crap!!!!!!! Any word on how many different ingredients compared to Oblivion?

We will be able to explore underwater ecosystems, IIRC.

More reason to play an Argonian! B)

And I thought I was the only person that felt like this!

I loved Oblivion's "old" appearance. Skyrim is too modern in the menus.

Eh, I like Skyrim's menus. For some reason, when I think of Skyrim I think of gray, black and steel (for some reason). So the menus make me really happy. I can see why someone would deslike them, but :|

I can't stand Oblivion's vanilla UI without mods. I like Skyrim's overall look so far but it better be functional on the PC. :D

As am I.

It would be cool if for a quest you had to dispose of a body this way.

I just used the BTMod for the menus. It made it to where you could see more of everything (more inventory items, more map, etc), since I'm not 7-10 feet away from my screen like the console gamers.

And I love the colored map! :D

The Elder Scrolls told of Suprez's return.

His vacation from Tamriel was merely a delay

'til the time after Oblivion opened,

when a serial killer in Skyrim would spill everyone's blood.

But no one wanted to believe,

believe he even existed.

And when the truth finally dawns,

it dawns in the blood of the innocent.

There is one they all fear.

In their tongue, he is Dovahkiin -- Psycho Killer

I'm 97.4216% sure this will be a Dark Brotherhood quest.

The thing is, though, that Hackdirt was perfect. I can see them overdoing it.

I hope the Brotherhood quests keep the same quality. I loved "Whodunit?" and "Scheduled for Execution". "A Watery Grave" too, if only for the pleasure of seeing a a plan working well.

I kinda lost my motivation after "Purification", though :( But "Honor Thy Mother" was perfection, 'nuff said. Of course, it would be better if every quest in the game is of high-quality, not only the Dark Brotherhood ones.

Same here - fortunately, Emil Pagliarulo, who wrote all the Oblivion DB quests, has also written the DB quests for Skyrim.

*He also happens to be the guy who shouts "Fus Ro Dah" in the January gameplay trailer.

Hmm, I must respectfully disagree. A more clean, modern GUI is better in my opinion.
I absolutly hated how NWN2 tried to copy BG-style heavy, stone GUI replacing the clean, transparent, efficient GUI that NWN1 had. Fortunately there are mods to somewhat fix that, but still the point stands.

Let's leave the past to the past. Oblivion had a terrible GUI as well, IMVHO. I personally look forward to the new, cleaner look.

And regarding earlier information about stamina, I have mixed feelings about this. I generally like the stamina stat somewhat limiting blocking and/or wild weapon swinging, but I'm not sure about connecting it to running as well.
While it makes a lot of sense, I'm not sure if I want this to significantly slow down my exploration/extend travel time. I don't want gameplay hours artificially bloated by the crawling speed of the exploration.... Well, let's see how this works out in practice.
