I wouldnt worry. I think Bethesda got the message that you cant have a side story more exciting then the main plot.

Considering the main plot is going to be in your face all the time in the form of potentially unlimited random Dragon encounters it reinforces the fact you cant just simply leave it alone and nothing will happen. Its a really good element and the premise is strong at least already. Lets just hope it lives up to excitement. Their plot twists can sometimes be a little lacklustre.

Five more things I've learned about Skyrim.

http://kotaku.com/58...and-other-stuff

You can carry a lot more,  you wont hate the difficulty, you can command animals, central characters cant be killed & DLC will resemble the likes of FO3 Point Lookout

Epic.:o

I like that it takes multiple types of items to craft weapons and armor, instead of just one iron ingot equaling one iron shield. Hopefully choosing different types of leather will visually and statistically change the properties of weapons and armors that need leather.

thats exactly what iv been hoping for, so i you make leather armour out of wolf pelts you'll get a nice grey fur lining for it.

I haven't been this exited for a game since Mass Effect 2.
I've even toyed with the idea of buying Oblivion back.

I've just got to learn to be more patient, and find a game to play in the mean time.
Anything being released within the next week or two that's worth getting?

Those pics were found back in April on the elderscrolls.com website, but nobody would tell us what they were exactly.

From the journalist's description in today's RPS article, it seems like he is talking about the creature in the pics above:

"As the fight moves on we face Falmer, “twisted, evil creatures that dwell in Skyrim’s deepest reaches” and which basically look like goblins wearing spider’s faces as helmets, "

Same here, Chunky. It's been neat getting a taste to see what crafting will look like and how it actually functions.

Looks like resurrection spells will be more prominent (which makes sense with companions...if standard Necromancers are using resurrections they most definitely will have potions to loot). That's pretty neat. I hope that even in the unmodded version that potions aren't quite as common through looting, giving more emphasis to Alchemy.

I'm uncertain about Inventory weight increases and automatic health regenerstion, however. Just little questions that are petty nitpicks. These changes might be good, or they might not. I don't want Inventory to be too easy. I'm a bigtime looter, so in principle inventory weight increase is good.

Regenerating health....I dunno....they said its slow, but I hope it is very, very slow. The article said slower than stamina and magicka....but how fast will they regenerate?

I'm sure in the beginning they will have low level items of pretty much every weapon....including staffs. There was a staff in the tutorial of Oblivion.

Yes!!! The Falmer looks amazing!

Here's to finding and exploring a vast, complex and deep Falmer city/dungeon far, far, far beneath the mountains.

So, will we be able to craft Falmer helmets?

I was hoping they would be a playable race, saying as their elves, it would be cool if theres a quest or two which involves helping them.

I'm no expert on ES lore but one hopes Bethesda has developed a good story or questline for stumbling into the Falmer since they were generally believed to be extinct.

They look a bit like Ayleids. I remember seeing a few screens of them in the portable ES games. You can also find them in Bloodmoon as deformed Rieklings, right? Sad to see how, in Lore, they've become monsters akin to goblins.

What platform are people looking at buying Skyrim on?

I've played previous ES games on PC but looking at getting Skyrim on Xbox cause I don't know how well my PC will run it. I've got a friend who thinks getting it on PC would be better for mods that the player community come up with.

What does everyone else think?

I'm getting Skyrim on the PS3 because computers confuse me and I prefer having a controller.

If your computer can run it, it seems like you will be missing out on a lot if you get the Xbox version.

PC version looks better due to higher resolution rendering, higher res textures, 16xAF, 16xAA and a lot more graphics settings, but the main reason to go with the PC version is - if Oblivion is any indication - there will be tens of thousands of free mods available to download for Skyrim, some of which will even be massive expansions on a par with Neherim, Andoran, etc.

I'll be getting it on 360 as it's the only console I have and I don't currently have my own computer. So, 360 it is.

PC. I don't have a 360 or a PS3, sadly.

I'm also worried about how well the game will run on my PC. I don't mind having to play it on medium, but I would be very disappointed if I had to low enough for everything to look super ugly :?

EDIT:

At title of curiosity, what kind of character guys like to play the most? I love being a Illusionist. I usually throw some Light Armor, Sneak and a Dagger in the mix, though, as Illusion alone can be very situational.

Not being able to run it on the highest level of graphic details doesn't worry me. I do however worry if it will run at all on my computer, I mean I can only run DA2 on medium level of graphics detail so feeling a bit concerned.

@Dhiro I like the stealth type characters but usually play them very poorly. Spellsword magic/melee is fun too.

As for myself I'm getting it for the Pc. Not worried about the computer handling it due to the fact that I'm running an I7 custom built system and shouldn't have a problem running the game at all.
